Got this call this morning, something to do with learner driver licence and to check my emails. Answerphone picked up.

Just had a call from a lovely lady advising a call from this number saying they were Sky, that they were going to send her a new viewing card and needed to update her bank details, luckily she did not supply this information!

Just had call from this no,said she was from sky and was sending out new viewing card asked me to confirm my date of birth then went on to ask to update my direct debit information that's. when I told her to f***k off and hung up,surely with modern technology these fraudsters can be caught

I got the same type of call last year.  Said he was from Sky and they were sending out new viewing cards.  Did not ask for my d.o.b. but I asked if I paid by Direct Debit.  Like you, I told him the if he was from Sky he would know how I paid and hung up.  I was then a little worried about not getting a viewing card so rang Sky.  The lady there said that not only was the call a scam but Sky would not 'phone every customer as they had too many.

Just had a call from the above number from a lady saying she was from Sky Television ... Stating that my viewing card was due to expire next week and before they could send a new one out they needed to update their information ... Told her she needs to get up a bit earlier than that as she asked for either Mr or Mrs ... If they were genuine they would know who the account holder was .

Unwanted intrusion!!

Just had this, purporting to be from Sky TV, saying viewing card was about to expire and wanted to confirm my details, in a very Indian accent, told them to get lost, I wouldn't even confirm my name to them, no doubt they will still call and their other chums.

Fed up getting calls from this number at all time of day. Getting quite frightening as no one answers

Caller claim to be from sky saying my card is going upt of date and wanting my details that they should have

I got a call from 012345678 this afternoon saying they were from sky and my card is to expire and wanted my bank details, I told them the money comes from my husbands account, but we're quite pushy for the info, I said he wasn't in, they were asking to go get a paying in book or a bank statement - er no you should have this info, I hung up.

As I said in my post higher up the page I contacted Sky after receiving such a call.  The said they NEVER 'phone like this as they have far too many customers to make it practical.  Makes sense, really.

I got a call from this no today said it was sky tv, and needed info to upgrade my sky card, she asked for bank details my sort code ect! Of course I didn't give them be careful everyone!

This number was displayed when ebay sent a four digit code in order to change my password. Seems to be some kind of generic number used for various things, but I don't think that it's dodgy.

I got a call on my landline from 012345678 and it was a message saying something about baking and 1695 was mentioned

Someone rung from this number and said we owe them £450 for energy bills, which is rubbish we don't owe a penny to any energy supplier. He even swear in PUNJABI and said what kind of your business owner who isn't paying.

I am going to report to police.

Had a call from this number earlier today, an Asian sounding female saying she was calling from 'Sky Viewing', advising me that our Sky card needed replacing and she would send one out to us.....she knew my name but, as a 'security question' she asked me for my date of birth. Alarm bells rang and I politely told her I did not give personal details out over the phone to anyone. She told me I would get everything in the post and put the phone down on me.
I had to talk to Sky myself on an unrelated matter a short while later and mentioned the earlier phone call, and was assured by them that they would never make a call regarding sky card renewals and as I had had no other phone calls the Sky advisor suggested I did a 1471......that's when I found out it was the 012345678 number.

Had a call like this last year and almost fell for it.  However, when he asked how I paid my Sky account I figured if he was from Sky he would know so hung up on him.  I then rang Sky and was told that Sky would never ring customers like this.  The reason being they had far too many customers to 'phone them individually.  Now that makes sense.

Exactly........but sadly, I imagine, some people may believe it to be a genuine call and divulge info.......reading through this thread it would appear that this number has been used for several years.

This number calls and  talk very dirty language tthey lias and never stop call plaesa some one stop them.

Received numerous calls from this number, claiming to be an energy company - Magically, a different one each time!
Just claimed to be Eon, asking for how much we're paying etc. Said no and he hung up. They'll keep phoning though.
