I received a letter this morning from Universal Consulting Trading as National Surveys. Enclosed was a congratulatory slip stating that I had been selected to receive a gift that has been donated from local buinesses. The slip went on to state that the total gift value exceeds £12,400 and that I need to contact them on 0191580043. BE CAREFUL AND BE MINDFUL that this may indeed be a scam. I am reporitng this matter to the office of fair trading. I work in the marketing industry and we are governed by the DMA; Direct Marketing Association and OFCOM; Office of Communications, for which I shall also be launching an investigation.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SLIP'S APPARENT AUTHENTICITY; it's not, so be warned.

recieved one of these letters wed 12 may 2010 from national surveys ltd victoria house 1 gloucester road cheltenham gloucestershire gl51 8ln.
congratulations this number(apl 7365) has drawn one of these free gifts donated by local buisnesses total value of gifts exceed £12,400 local phone number 01915 580043 mon-thur 9 till 8 fri 9 till 6
so these scammers are now in durham area also
never fall for scams like this always always check them out and report

got one of these mr/mrs congratulations vouchers, i like a good laugh so phoned it as it said prize value exeeds £12,400 after talking for about 8 mins was told my gift was a ford focus zetec, i off course laughed out loud and said okay, see what happens.  gave them my name addres etc,  car arrived with keys log books and a fuel card worth £1000.00 so its not all bad

I find what goliath and what georgie boy said really difficult to believe, in fact I suspect they might even be on the payroll for these scammers..

Got same slip through yesterday so they're hitting Glasgow too

i assure you i am not in the employ of the company i rercieved the car from. and the reply by lightelves is bordering on slander in the least

ive just recieved one today (18th may 2010), company offering free gifts valued over £12,400 from local companies.  thot i wud ring...im a mug...i no....but after they asked for my name and postcode i bottled it and hung up....decided to come on here and check out the company...then i found you lot telling me it is a scam (shud of known really)...anyhow, living in the North East, Sunderland Area...so be warned...ITS A SCAM...they're looking to track down debt's of tennants and past tennants apparently!!!

Received one today 01915 580043 scam has hit the north east.

Just received my congratulations notification. The same story as the rest of the comments. These letters have been sent out for over two years now. Quite a few people say they have reported this scam but evidently no action is taken or the scam operators know a loophole that keeps them safe. Some one needs  to knock on their door and confront them face to face. No messages posted seem to suggest this has ever happened or what the out come was ???  Any takers in the Cheltenham area ???

i got one today too. they do look genuine but i'm no fool and it has gone straight in the bin.

Scam avoid

Yep I got one today in Rosyth to call 01242 695001 expires on June 1st 2010.  Total value of gifts exceed £12,400. Glad I checked out this website, shame on them targetting gullable and vulnerable people, they should be stopped its a bloody disgrace.

I just received the same letter saying congratulations blah blah blah....

In the bin now. I really think these people should just get a life and stop trying to scam other people. Sending people junk mail - there should be a law against it.

I'm also from Glasgow & got the letter today in post so it looks like they are hitting Scotland at the moment. Same details as kat22.  Must say it kinda looks authentic but too good to be true.  Luckily I thought to search on Internet first as was very tempted to call it.  Bit worried about all the other vulnerable people who may have received it.  Does anyone know what kind of scam it is exactly??  Identity theft?  Product bombardment?  Sell your phone no etc to advertising companies?  Marketing? Etc. Many thanks to websites like this one & the ppl taking time to share their experience. Scam con averted!  Be vigilant everybody!!!
