got letter from national surveys cheltenham saying i have won gifts in excess of12.400 pounds i was not born yesterday.but i bet they catch some people out.never bothered to fone their nbr which is 01242695001 and letter is in the bin.

Got one in the post yesterday too, same number and details.  Will bin it.

They are now in Hampshire - Portsmouth. I got one this morning and binned after looking at this on the net. Thanks

I've just gone one in Morley, Leeds - obviously a scam after reading all the comments on this site - thanks!  I've returned to sender, but not before defacing the slip with a few choice words!!

toal value of gifts exceed £12,400 looks like they are widening their operation.  Needless to say I will bin it.

Got one of these on 4/11/09 (10242 659001 AGL 6564, Universal Consulting.
I live about 9 miles away and will be working in Cheltenham on Monday 9/11/09. I will call in to see them and let you all know what happens.

Never telephoned as to other comments but will report it to trading standards

I received one of these slips in September and was suspicious, but also curious as it seemed local.  I rang the number and although it seemed that someone had picked it up and I could hear voices in the distance, no-one spoke so I disconnected.  I think I was lucky!  If I lived nearby, I would go and investigate!

Had a telephone call from 01242 695001 of which they got the info completely wrong despite being registered with the telephone preference service. We put the phone down. Looked onto the internet to see if i could trace the number and found this site. Glad we didn't call then back due to reading the above comments all of which appear to do with scamming someone so it may have been a rip off premium rate!!!
OTHER PEOPLE BEWARE

I received a slip today 12.11.09 I rang the number provided as it was a local number 0113 350294, Mark answered & wanted my surname I didn't provide this as I had already Googled the company name & got this page.  I feel sorry for all the vulnerable people in my area who do not have the Internet readily available.  I will be contacting my local MP.  Keep you up to date.

Got the letter yesterday from 'national survey'.  Am workin in cheltenham literally 100 yards from the address later on will have a look at whats going on there

Have just received voucher to claim gift exceeding £12,400 from Universal Consulting Ltd 1 Gloucester Road Cheltenham 01242 695001 addressed to Mr/Mrs. What a scam - does anyone know who I should report to ?? trading standards.BTW I live in Worcestershire (20 miles from Cheltenham)

Like S I live close to Cheltenham but in Worcestershire and received my scam letter today. My initial response was because it's local it might be ok...hence I checked it!
Wonder if Lewis (13 Nov) checked out the address - bet it's a mail drop address.

On 21st November also received a slip of paper telling us that we had won a free gift donated by a local business. The number to call was 01442 540076. I have not called thinking it might be a scam. The address on the compliment sheet is Victoria House, 1 Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, GL51 8LN
