My mum has just received a phone call from these people claiming that she could have £3500 back for mis-sold ppi. They asked her for an upfront fee of £250. Luckily my mum phoned me and I told her that any ppi company worth their salt would do it as a no win no fee. I looked on the internet and low and behold it's a scam. They WON'T be getting any money from her. It disgusts me that these people get away with this. Anyone involved in the phone call should be brought up on charges and quite frankly receive serious jail time as far as I'm concerned. DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!

If you have been scammed by these people or even if you had a close call but refused to hand over your money then you can call the Action Fraud line 0300 123 2040 and report the company. You need information like what number phoned you, the current name they are using for business like Aims Review, or Aims Legal, and what has happened. I was told by the gentleman on the phone that if the company phones back then to tell my mum to inform them that she knows it's a scam, has reported them and not to phone her back. NO MATTER WHAT THE EMPLOYEES SAY, POSING AS A CUSTOMER, THIS IS MOST ASSUREDLY A SCAM and the fraud squad are looking into the matter. The more phone numbers, etc, different names of the same company, etc they have the better the chance they have to shut them down.

Please, please, please, report them to the Ministry of Justice who have a claims regulation officer assigned just to this company but they need evidence.  Thy owe my mother £299 and are not complying with the 14 day cooling off period in which you can cancel any contract made over the phone and claim a refund but the MOJ need evidence.

Report them to Claims regulation at the Ministry of Justice and, if this happened within the last 14 days, send a first class, recorded delivery letter cancelling the contract made over the telephone and claiming an immediate refund.  Your father has a 14 day cooling off period within which he can cancel the contract and claim a full refund.  Do not be fobbed off and keep a copy of all letters and a record of any phone calls.

This afternoon i also had a phone call from this company saying i was entitled to a refund of up to £3,440.

thru mis sold ppi. I was very wary and cautious of phone calls like this, i listened to what she had to say and she was very convincing, she said i would just need to pay £299 Adminstration fee for the services she told me about. In was unsure of this and told her i needed time to think bout it futher, she said she,d call me back in 1 hour. in this time i looked on the website shed told me and i found this, thank goodness i did. I was in two minds whether or not to pay the £299 to get bcak £3,400. I know what i,ll be telling her when she calls back. Thankyou for letting people like me know bout this SCAM. How can it be stopped?

My Mum was rung by them. She is 92 and has some hearing loss and a poor memory. She is cautious and careful - but co-operative with salespeople if she can be, out of kindness. Somehow they persuaded her to give her the long number and security number on her credit or debit card  and then took £250 from her bank account. They DID subsequently send something in the post but my sister, who lives with my Mum, looked at it briefly, thought it was something she wasn't interested in and threw the letter away.

Since then my sister has had many many phone-calls with AIMS staff, some of whom have been helpful. They have now said that if we get a letter from my Mum's GP stating that she has some hearing loss and that her memory is poor  they will refund the money. They have also agreed to send us a transcript of the conversation my mother had with them if we sent them £10.

We have written to the GPs and sent off the transcript request.

My mother says she agreed to nothing, except perhaps to be sent information. At one point the staff member speaking to my sister appeard to say that my mother had given agreement to join, and pay £250, by pressing the number 5 button on the phone!. Later she said it was a verbal agreement.

We await the transcript with interest. But how will we know if it is accurate?

I received a call from a lady from AIMS who turned out to be 'the receptionist' (cold caller) and I was passed to a man called Adam Johnstone (not Bennet?). I have received many such calls in the past but I have always put the phone down. On this occasion I decided to listen to what he had to say despite the fact that I was confident that I have never been sold PPI. After listening to him I accepted the possibility that I may been unaware that I had been sold such a product so I answered some of his questions. At the end he told me that, based on experience, I wold probably be able to reclaim £2,400 plus £1200 due to credit card payments. He did say no guarantees but wanted an up front payment of £299 which I would get back if they did not make me financially better off through my claim. He wanted payment by card there and then but I said I would think about it. So I started some on-line research. Apart from a number of very negative sites about a wide range of such companies, I found an article in "The hidden costs of PPI awards" which not only reports the associated scams but alsoo gives advice on how to do it yourself. I would advise that nobody gives these people any money. Caller type is Claims Management Compay.

They called me today, caller gave her name as Michelle. They wanted £299 up front and the details of my card.  I didn't give her my card details and said I would check the company details.  Luckily for me I seem to been saved £299 as I came to this site.

    Thank you

This company is based in spain and has all english people working there. How do I know? I was employed by them until I realised what they were doing. The employees are brainwashed into thinking they are helping the customers! !! If you have time to complain and rant on here then make time to contact the Ministry of Justice ASAP!!!!!!!!!

By the way they get around the up front fee as they initially cold call and once they get you interested they call you back or say an adviser will call you back.. therefore they don't actually ask for an up front fee as its not on first call. Very clever stuff!!

Each day for one hour the individuals have to do what is known as 'voice bursts' which is basically cold calling.. the numbers are automatically dialled. These people are told to not answer any questions and to gain basic info and in essence get the customer interested. We then got told to collecr as many of these leads. They were passed on to people sat about a metre away who would call the customer back. This got Aims out of not asking for an initial fee predicament.

After our hour was up we would swap with the advisors and they would have to do the cold calling. So the so called receptionists are also advisors. So messed up but very clever.

Just for further info. I found a job for them on reed and left to start this job in spain. They however failed to mention they they were a scam!  All english people work there as we have to pretend we are in blackburn. I was in shock at this. Anyway the English people out there struggle to get work so basically even when they discover what they are doing is wrong they dont care as they need money.

I can provide alot more info if anyone needs it but I would advise contacting ministry of justice first!!!! I certainly did. I feel stupid for falling for a job that wasn't what it said!!! Absolute joke. However after the 6 that were recruited from the uk I dont thinm they will recruit from here again. They will stick to the vulnerable desperate people already in spain.

Sorry for my rant. I am still upset at this company and want them closing down!!

E mail from one of the recruiters for this company.. it was on Reeds website....

role involves selling financial products to UK customers through warm leads, converting to sales. The customers you will be speaking to may be eligible to make a claim on a miss-sold financial product such as a pension/ mortgage/ bank charge PPI etc. You will earn commission on closing deals, experience of selling financial products to consumers or telesales is ideal. Does this sound like something you would be interested in and have you had much telephone sales experience converting leads to sales?
