My father in law has received a cheque for his £299 - posted from Gibraltar. He has banked it, and we shall see if it clears. It had taken a supreme amount of effort to get this far, but I am not confident that this is the end of the matter.

Unfortunately, I fell for their services "Hook Line & Sinker". I paid the membership fee of £250.00 and I feel that they have done very little work to satisfy me on my PPI claims. I regret not undertaking the task myself. I have had to badger this firm to provide me with a paper trail of all correspondance with regards to my PPI claims. To be honest they have done very little to warrant the £250.00 fee and are quick off the mark with an invoice to justify their work & are more then ready to refer your debt (non payment of invoice fee & VAT)  to a 3rd party collection company plus further charges! Please do not touch this shambolic company. Deal directly with the FOS.

AIMS Reclaim state "In a genuine attempt to resolve your PPI claim the offer from XYZ (e.g. Bank) of £XYZ.00 is equal to the average compensation payment they would have agreed with the FOS (Financial Ombudsman Service) that an average payment method in cases such as yours are fair and reasonable".

I notified the FOS regarding this brash statement and this statement is not part of the FOS guidelines.

The third party collection company isn't Liverbird Collections by any chance? It operates from the same office and is owned by the same people that own AIMS Review and AIMS Legal

I have not even received the compensation as yet! But, are AIMS allowed to run an in-house debt collection company as well? Does the MOJ approve of such malpractises in-house? Just curious really. All in all the entire AIMS outfit sounds and appears to be one Costa del Sol f*ck up.

MOJ hear I come, I'll compose a letter to them over the w/end.

You took the correct action. Contact your bank asap even on a sunday and report the fraud. Also as suggested report them to Claims regulation at the Ministry of Justice and send a first class, recorded delivery letter cancelling the contract made over the telephone and claiming an immediate refund. You also have a 14 day cooling off period within which you can cancel the contract and claim a full refund.

Good job you reviewed this site as you can see AIMS is a totally f*ckedup oufit!! A bunch of St Tropez tanned air heads - even though they work from the Costa del Crime.

Unfortunately, their call came at the same time I had heard that I had had interest put on a statement which I was going to query.  Spoke to Jay Keeney, sounded a charming down to earth fellow, I said I would think about it and a Richard 'phoned next day,   During this time I went onto the internet and all their departments were listed and the 'Ministry of Justice' page which gave their license number.  Result I parted with £299.  Next day I tried on numerous occasions to get through - 'phoned answered with options to press but no answers from anyone.  I even had their policy e-mailed me which said I had 7 days to cancel, which I was going to do.  I did get a call from Jay and when I said I wanted to cancel he was very insistent, eventually saying I would get my money back in 30 days, then the 'phone went dead.  I tried to get back to them without success.  II very much doubt I will see my money again.  I can't believe I have been taken in as I am usually very wary of such calls.    Please do not make my mistake as it has caused me many sleepless nights.

I can't honestly believe what I have read on this forum people saying they are legitimate and helpful and have recieved cheques from them.  HOW MANY SUCKERS ARE THERE?

WAKE UP AND OPEN YOUR EYES IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE AND IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.  THEY ARE NOT SENDING PEOPLE CHEQUES FOR NOTHING.

As Chadders said you don't get owt for nowt.  Mark my words if you have recieved a cheque from AIMS you will have to pay it all back. Don't come crying on the forum when this scam company has conned you out of every penny you've got it's your own fault for falling for the scam and letting them suck you in in the first place.

I would not pay £250 for any membership it's extortion

    Very. Interesting.

AIMS RECLAIM have notified me that if require a copy of all correspondence they have issued to my lenders and correspondence received from them, I will need to issue AIMS with a "Data Subject Access Request" and enclose the payment of £10.00 for each additional claim I have logged with them.

Absolute cheek! Aint the £250.00 fee enough dosh?

The £10 fee is pretty standard for a Data Subject Access Request - you'll see just how little work they do for the £250 or £299 "membership fee" and of course 25% plus VAT of the reclaimed money from the bank!

As always Ha Ha, you hit the nail on the head and you reponses on this web site are as sound as a pound (£). I can use the pound sign as I do not work out of Spain using a spainish keyboard! And I do not have a sad old job at AIMS, I do have a moral conscience. These people are really unbelievable and I do hope in due course the Ministry of Justice will take the correct course of action regaring this CMC.

Bang on the money! They don't want the British coppers crawling over their big houses and office in the UK ripping everything apart because of the money laundering balls up! They know the Spanish police are useless so keep dropping hints that everything happens in Spain!
