They keep calling me too - same story about winning a holiday. They called me all last week and have started again this week. Hopefully they'll get sick of me not answering soon enough!

I just had this call from 'Sara' to my mobile. For a second, I was overjoyed to think I'd won a holiday (though I don't recall any survey) - now I've checked through this site I'm gutted, and I won't be phoning 0800 9889904 so thanks to all for your warning!

Just starting getting calls on my 'work' mobile. I have no idea why. Like you say he/she/it won't leave voicemail; number unobtainable when you try to call it back. Searched for the number given and here I am. Its going to be answered and left open next time!

I have had four missed calls today from this number and when I tried ringing them back the number was unobtainable so I googled the number and found this website.  It is a nuisance but I will bar the number now that I have seen this.  I never fill in questionnaires on the street so the only way they could have got my number is if some company sold it on.

I got a call saying I had won a holiday they said I had to ring a freephone number (0800 9889904) to claim my prize and gave me a Alpha Numerical code. The first thing I did was google the company name and it came with Martin Lewis website forumn with similar people who had received a call saying the same and adgvised to stay well away. I belive if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

Yes I get this as well, yet I have not done any surveys or giving this number to anyone other than friends and family. So I wonder how they got it?

Just rec'd a call from 01268557600 saying I have won a holiday for 4 people. I entered a survey on 2 minute draw. Thing is I did!! But I didn't believe the caller that I had won so, googled number. And here I am!! Thxs to this site I had a feeling it wasn't for real! Same thing I was told to call 0800 988 9904, with ref. Advised to call it right away and I'd get extra £50 shopping voucher.

Missed this call, tried calling back but the number came up as a 'dialled wrong number'.
Then I found this place. So a dodgy number, dodgy company (s), time someone did something.

    Thanks

Got a call from this number today, said I had won a holiday for four. Asked a few questions, including are you a homeowner and 32 years of age? I said no. NOt 32 years? Yes, 32 years but not homeowner. Was given freephone number and reference. I smelled a rat but thought give them a ring as freephone won't cost anything. Lady asked the same questions and when I said I am not a homeowner, she said I did not qualify and had I not been asked that question by the first lad that called. I said yes, and I had corrected him. She said sorry, will go and listen to that call immediately and he will be sacked because he shouldn't have given you the freephone number. (yeah, right!!!) No wonder I didnt feel enthusiastic when he was so over the top that I had won a free holiday, "Well done!"...

To all the people who've been phoned x times and haven't answered the phone after seeing the caller ID and "phew, I found the details on this site" - here's a thought: why not answer the phone, tell them you're definitely not interested, and they'll stop calling.  Until then, they'll keep on trying, surely?  OK, maybe they will try you again but it's got to be worth giving them the benefit of the doubt?

To all the people who have posted threads along the lines of "phew, glad I didn't get caught out by these scammers" - I just don't get it.  What are you afraid of?  Yes, the companies' methods are perhaps a bit dubious (ie, winning this imaginary competition) but other than that (having quizzed my caller today) apparently you need to attend a sales presentation here in the UK, but otherwise that's it.  I can't see any posts from anyone who's actually taken them up on the 'prize' and says they've been scammed.

I have friends who regularly do this and get free or cheap holidays - OK, you have to resist the sales pitch, but really, how hard can that be?  Anyone who goes to one of these presentations with their eyes open and no intention of buying a timeshare, but yet still manages to come away having signed some contract doesn't get my sympathy!

Anyway, I'm certainly thinking about phoning the 0800 number and following it up - but the big downer for me, and the reason I probably won't, is that I have a family of 5.

    Me again...

Just being doing some more googling and come up with the following Guardian article (5 years old) on the same company.

Seems to me the main downside is the poor availability of dates when you can take your holiday/flights, and the fact that you have to pay a booking fee (though I wasn't told that on the phone today) which is non-refundable after you've discovered there are no suitable dates for you...

    So I think I'll give it a miss!  ;-)
