I believe you can re-open your line by unplugging it at the master box where it enters the property, then waiting a couple of minutes before plugging in again. I got this tip from a forum discussing a 'Pay up now or we'll cut you off ' scam.

T/P. 01274 663293 rang, there was a Voice Mail messgae saying "Your call is important to us" and then straight to music.
I tried to hang up on the call but was unable to disconnect the call for about 3 mins

Little bit different from the stories above. They said they are a company called Coverplus and could give me a quote for home insurance. They knew my home insurance is due up shortly. Told them where to go.

Unsolicited call today

Got a call today from this number .They asked to speak to Mr Walker .When I said he had been dead for 12 years they just hung up .How rude is that !!!

Have had four calls from 01274 663 293 in the past two days, My phone number is ex-directory, so that is no protection,

Got these idiots calling me today. rang and then went direct to a holding queue, and listened to classical music.......

Hanged up, couldnt be bothered, however after 40 mins they were still on the end of the line! A phone call from my mobile phone to BT to investigate. Over an hour they jammed my phone line open, even when I disconnected the call for 10+ mins, unplugged the phone from the wall for 10+ mins, they were still there.

Phone line came back after 1hr 20 mins after being jammed!

Got a call from them this morning but the line went dead.  Have no ideal who they are.  Hopefully no more unsolicited calls from them.  Does anyone know who they are?

This was a call from Cover Plus. Apparently it had come up on their computer that my home insurance was due for renewal. It is not. I told the caller that. They apologised and hung up.

Hi this number is from a company called Ppi advice line they are a scam company go online to google type who's calling me then the number 01274 663293 you will get a whole load of info about them.

A real pain in the butt I checked them out after several calls from them over a few days

I have had several missed calls from this number.  When I called back the number was not known.
Keep receiving unwanted calls.

Got a call 15 March..after a short silence message came "one of our agents will be with you shortly" I hung up and did 1471 but it was still connected playing music. Cleared after about 1 minute.

Answered this one because it looks like a genuine UK landline number. Caller asked for me by name, when asked to identify themselves said they were PPI Advice Line. I just said goodbye and hung up.
Point to note, if you have been missold PPI, you don't need to pay a claims company to get compensation. You can write to the lender yourself using a form letter from moneysavingexpert.com.

Received call from this number, just had music playing and was unable to disconnect the number even after hanging up and disconnecting the phone line still could not get rid of it, after about 10 mins managed to disconnect.

                 16th March  15.09

I was not in on any of these occassions but being curious I tried to ring them back only to obtain a 'the number you have dialed has not been recognised'

Interested to see that I am not alone - do we have any idea what the calls are for?

Received a call at 2.15pm  from this number today, rang three times went off.
Dialed 1471 and their number came up.Im ready for them next time with a whistle to give them something to listen to. Can't wait....he he!.... blood sucking b******s

Just has this 01274 663293.  Just took out our phone for nearly half an hour.  Not good when you need to get intouch with the doctor.  Want these people to be hung up as rubbish.
