- David Hicks T/A Bugsy's replies to Customer ServicesDear Sir or Madame
I received a call from one of your employees a Mr Wesley Cann on the 24th January 2012 and we agreed on just a listing of my buisiness under vw specialist for the fixed sum of £500 which I over heard his conversation with his manager to this agreement, But I did find his persistance in trying to sell me some thing that I couldn't afford rather anoying and thought that this is know way to conduct a buisiness also I didn't want to get in to a descusion of my finances because I do enough of that with my bank, I then was transfered to your accounts department and spoke to a Mr Bradlet Jarvis who informed me of the conditions and WE both agreed that the transaction of £500 will be taken from my buisiness account ON THE 1ST FEBUARY 2012, But out of curiousity I checked with my bank and was told that the sum of £500 + VAT =£615 was taken out of my account WITH OUT MY AUTHURISATION which is a bad code of conduct, so for this reason I wish to cancell and would appreciate a total refound of £615 back in to my account and the transaction REF:006728 and my bank will inform me when they have received this, if you decide not to then my bank and solicitor will investigate the situation. yours sincerely D Hicks - Customer ServicesDear Mr Hicks
Further to your recent posting – we understand that you have queried the date we billed your card – for order number 20120166131.
You said that you did not agree to be billed until 01 February 2012, but there is no reference to that within the confirmation call recording, which is why your card has been billed the fee for the order.
We regret therefore, that we are not able to refund the fee as it would appear you have been billed correctly. We have sent you an email at 1301 today and have also emailed you the call recording for your records.
Regards

- TMB replies to Kevin WalkerIts not as scam but not a nice company to deal with. We signed up for a years advertising at £183 last year. Had a phone call from Brad telling us we had a 2 year contract and did we want to take the reduced rate. This years advertising was circa £1800 and the reduced rate was circa £1300. They said if i didn't take the reduced offer they would take the money anyway.
As far a i am a wear we had not taken a 2 year contract. Also last year they took another £120 that we hadn't authorised, Can't get that back either.
Wouldn't touch this company with a bargepole - Customer OperationsDear TMB
Hello, we're sorry to hear about your complaint, and we'd like to look into it for you.
Our standard agreements do contain an automatic renewal provision, (just like Yell.com and BT Customer Street directories) and in order for any payment to be processed or billed, you have to confirm the order by recorded telephone call and also sign an electronic agreement which make the fees clear.
If you'd like to contact us at operations.manager@motortrades.co.uk quoting your sales order number we'll look into your complaint immediately.

Order Numbers 20120567247 20120567248
We have made clear in various email exchanges with you that you were billed because you signed an agreement and went through the recorded confirmation process. We have provided you a copy of your signed agreement and the recorded call in order to remind you what was agreed with you at the point of order.
Dear "Albert"
Thank-you for your feedback dated 14 May 2012 - our prices have risen slightly in the last year but we still have offers available and for customers that renew orders early can benefit from our early bird discount programme. We are pleased that you have been a customer for 5 years or so and look forward to a successful future together.

- rvg replies to Customer OperationsAs per many others i took out a cheap £300 ad last year which yielded less than 6 enquiries for my business,i'd pretty much forgotten about it when i got a call from them informing me that as i had not cancelled within 60 days of the anniversary i now owed them £4000 unless i took the special deal on the phone there and then for £1500 !
They are without doubt the most aggressive, bullying, nasty, underhand bunch of people i have ever had the misfortune to deal with.I spent over 2hrs on the phone that day to them and more hours to trading standards, solicitors, information commisioners office, bank etc.
They said they had my card details and were taking the money whether i wanted the ad or not and if there were no funds in the bank (i made sure i moved it all, pronto) they would take me to court for it and extra costs would be levied.I did not know there were people out there trading in this manner and they should be shut down for the good of all.
I did not agree to their deal and left them saying that i would end up in court if they did not get the money they wanted. They have since (same day) sent an email cancelling "the order" (which i never placed anyway!) and basically putting a line under it.This email was polite and "normal" and nothing like the phone calls.
My advice, dont get involved at all.Ever.
If you are in the same boat i was, stand your ground, move your money (dont forget any o/d facility) and cancel the card, move accounts if you have to,just dont let these scum get away with your cash, you've earned it,make sure you keep it.Good luck. - Customer OperationsDear Adam

- MR I wont take no [***]!!| 3 repliesI 1st got a call from these scumming little [***] last year!!
The tricked me into buying advertisment, i didnt want it, i refused to pay at 1st but they threatened legal [***]!! So i spoke to a member of staff there and we agreed to pay there fee (IIRC£150) on the bases that it will not go in to an automatic renewal. I asked the lady 3 times, clearly, "it will definetely not go into automatic renewal, no?" she said "No definetely not". So i paid.
Low and behold, the little scummy robbing low life [***] rang me again two weeks ago, offering me a discount on my automatic renewal, taking it from £1100 down too £500 or there abouts. I had a masive 30 mins or more row with the [***] [***]!!! with threts towards me etc etc. Dont get me wrong, i also thretend the little [***] too, was very funny and made my day!!! Any way at the end of the call he said he was sending me a court summons in the post the next day.
Nothing every showed up! (BTW)
Later that day his "manager" called me and also gave it all the big one down the phone.
I spoke to trading standards who said they need to send proof of contract, every time i have asked for this they have directed me to there website or said il have to pay to have it sent in the post.
Today, another little jobs worth useless [***] rang me, offering discount on my renewal, thats due today!! (thoght it was due two weeks ago when you rang me?) Any way, he said if i dont agree to renew, hel renew it any way and charge it to the card i paid with last time.............
now let me tell you some thing mr [***] motortrades, if that happens, i will be down to burn the [***] building down, iv had enough of it now and i really would acttully rather do some time than let you scummy [***] get your hands on my money!!!
Maybe you lot should look at getting your selfs a proper job, rather than trying to con people out of money who actully have or are trying to make succesfull business.- Caller: Motortrades
