I get calls from the wasters in waves. None for a while then in they come.  Had one today, didn't answer it and the caller left a 10 second message of the general noise in the back ground of the call centre. Obviously too thinck to speak.

Check out forums for various genuine motor trade services i.e. smart repairs, valeting, dent repair etc and you will see lots of bad stories and con acts carried out by Motor trades Directory, lots of people have been ripped of by them. Just hang up and what ever you do don't say yes or give em any card details otherwise you will be sunk. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....

This process is designed to protect both parties to the agreement and only fees approved by way of this process, can or will be billed.

If you have any further queries, please email operations.manager@motortrades.co.uk and we will be happy to help.

I have seen this thread formed from me looking up `ufindalocal scam` in google, I am currently in contact with customer services regarding my issue, This company is outragous!!, forced me in to another year of £1650 at apperntly at a disscounted rate, they gave me a decision of i pay them now at the disscounted rate or i face the full amount at £2900 and a CCJ court letter, UNREAL!!, would not let me seek legal advice, very abusive forcing money out of people especially new small buisnesses, SCAMMERS!

all there phones calls are recorded for training and monitioring purposes, but what you dont know is only there confirmation call is recorded, how F&$KING convienient!

EVEN AFTER PAYING THIS MONEY I WANT TO CANCEL AND THEY RESPOND WITH
'YOU CANNOT CANCEL AT THIS POINT IN TIME'

ANYONE OUT THERE READING THIS POST, PLEASE DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY!!!

and for the people who have joined make sure you cancel within 60 days of renewal, funnily enough they do not send reminders via letter or phone call like AA,RAC,Your home/car insurance so you get sucked in to there automatic reneal process all they send is an email to get you scammed in to paying more than triple for your second year. mine went from £350 for first year to £2900 second year.

I have very good resources and contacts regarding situations like this unfortunatly for me im very new to buisness and will need help in this matter,

    Dear Sir

Further to your posting of 20 August, we are sorry to learn of your complaint; in terms of reminders, we do issue reminders in the run up to the end of your existing listing, and this provides ample opportunity for you to cancel the automatic renewal.

Then, to be billed for a further period, you are required to confirm a new order by way of a recorded call and also sign a new electronic agreement, which clarifies any fees payable.

If you have an outstanding issue, please contact us at operations.manager@ufindalocal.com and we will do our best to assist.

    Yours faithfully

    Unhappy customer
Motor Trades have a cunning auto renewal clause in their contract. They say yell.com have the same thing,(to justify this ).I have been with yell for years and have spoken to them about this, and they have no such thing.

If the yell rep does not get the customer to renew the contract, it simply lapses.Motor trades are just liars, they are just pathetic.

    Brian
Had an ad with them that was totally useless.Did not cost me much thank god.Opted out of the contract. They say they are the yell.com of the motoring world.Stick to yell, as you will be better off. They lead you to believe their site is the bees knees, and will increase your business no end .It won't.

The worst thing about them is their telephone manner.Harsh, poor English, abrasive conduct, and general drivel about the effectiveness of their site.Life is full of media companies offering you the world. To me, this was a dead duck who will stay dead.

A shoddy company who should not be in the on-line directory business.

    Friend of a friend
I notice from all the posts and replies from this company that they have an answer for everything. If they are as professional as they claim why is it that so many people are complaining about the way they conduct themselves. Where are all the positives comments or in fact, any positive comments from the many thousands of happy customers?
My friend has just fallen victim to this so called renewal routine. His first year of advertising cost him £400, he then tried to end his agreement but was told he hadn't opted out within the correct period so would have to continue for another year. The second year without discount increased to £4000 but if he did it on the phone there and then he would receive a discount, if he chose not to he. Would be charged the full amount. No clear explantion of fees or charges were given. Clearly he phoned to complain and was met with the usual, read the T&C,s
He sent emails to end all dealings with this company and was sent a reply claiming he owed a further 1500 for 2 new contracts he had taken out. It strikes me as odd that anyone would take on new orders when they are trying to end all communication with a company. All I can suggest is that he was duped by a clever and well practised sales routine to extort more money from him. He has asked for the recordings of his calls to be sent to him to clarify exactly what he did or didn't agree to. We are still awaiting this for this although they did forward a 67 page document telling us how good they were which contained some ridiculous easy to miss conditions around the middle section. For a company so customer service focused it would also seem odd that they are already calling and threatening county court action if he refuses to pay.

If this sounds familiar to anyone else.... Do not pay these people, take the court option as I know they would be unable to justify what they charge and how they conduct themselves in front of a judge.

Do not go anywhere this company, the guys behind it Daniel Corby and Steve Jakes were the ones behind companies such as 118trades, MTMedia, iFinda Group etc that use to do the same things prior to motortrades.

Daniel Corby was featured on BBC watchdog and charged by trading standards for taking money without consent from what I remember.

Anyone with a complaint should go straight to watchdog, they love a good follow up on 'rogue traders'
