Called at 8:28pm Friday evening. No message left on the answer machine.

If you are on TPS it prevents sales calls NOT market research calls. Ipsos Mori are a market research company trying to get a random sample of the population and because they aren't trying to make money from you they CAN call you even if you are on TPS.  They also don't work from a list or telephone book and use a random digit dial system. I know all this because I used to work for IPSOS Mori. As other commenters have stated. If you don't want calls from IPSOS Mori don't make an excuse such as "i'm busy", "i'm going out", "I have a taxi waiting" because you will be called over and over again until you say please don't ring me, I don't want to take part. You don't have to be rude or aggressive, just politely decline. As the callers don't work from commission they aren't interested in trying to force you to do anything although ultimately it is their job to encourage you to take part. But I can guarantee that if you politely decline the caller will respect that. Most of them are students and are just trying to make some cash. they don't want to be shouted at or argue with you.

Heard phone ringing when I was outside so did a 1471 , did not know any one with this number hence found this site to report to.We are ex directory.

This number called today asking for a member of our household stating 'I AM CALLING FROM THE GOVERNMENT'

When challenged about which Government Department she stated 'I AM WORKING ON BEHALF OF THE OFFICE FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM'.

Further challange revealed that the caller was from IPSIS MORI.

This is the third call according to IPSIS MORI and we have probably has at least 5 calls answered by different family members.

She refused to answer questions from my father as he was not the 'named person' but when asked how she knew that I was the named person (I was!) she got defensive.

When another male from the family spoke to her she hung up.

We all know MORI polls - this is just pestering. Chalenge the caller - it is great fun!

She has just phoned the mobile!

I had a call from this number, but I didn't take it. They woke my baby up. Hope it was the first and the last time they called.

Have had a number of calls from this number including today Sunday at 1715. Have just started saying can't speak to them hoping when they realise that is the only responce they get they ill take my number off their list

Called when I was out and there was just a recorded message left on Call Minder.

Among other things Ipsos Mori are currently doing a survey on people who have had training/educational courses (I suspect they get the names from the local council). While somewhat pushy, the young lady I spoke to (slightly rudely in retrospect) definitely sounded like she didn't want to be doing this on a Friday night and ended the call after the third attempt to get me to give up any personal details.

I could tell that people mention the TPS all the time because when I mentioned it she made a noise that sounded like she'd lost the will to live. Patiently explained the TPS to me and then ended the call - I've had worse calls, at least she wasn't trying to get me to buy gas/electricity or some combination thereof.

They have called about 5 mins ago. Didn't recognize number so didn't answer. If they not in my phone book I don't answer. No message left, tried ringing back after finding this site, but no option to leave them a message.

This number calls every couple of days despite us being registered with tps.

Yep getting calls on both my mobile AND my home phone from them. How did they get both of those numbers?

I work in the media and I am referring this to Watchdog.

Have relatives in Edinburgh so to get a call like this is worrying as some have health problems. Brand new line, had it less than one month.

Received a call today from 01313012940 who said they was doing market research. Politely said I'm not interested, and caller said OK we will try again later. I said "No do not call me again".

They called me yesterday at 8.08pm wanting market research. I explained that I was ex-directory and curious to know how they'd got my number. They said they were random calling! Told them I wasnt't interested and asked them not to call again.

This number called me at 10.10am this morning.  I didn't answer it as I don't answer to numbers i don't know.  Put the number into google and found this informative site.  thank you for your help

The trouble is technically the TPS doesn't apply to non-sales calls like surveys. Though if it is repeat calling after saying "No thank you" then it could be construed as Harrasment.

They called me at 8:42pm and told them "I don't do surveys".
