This is a fraud orginisation. They call with enough of your details to make you think it is real. they harvest more of your details in order to get creditcards, loans and other financial gains in your name.

Have had a few clls from this number.

Claiming to be marbles credit card, vanquis credit card, tesco credit card and tesco finance.

This time it was claiming to be Vanquis again.

these criminals are targetting me. We have total failure of the negligent, incompetent, unfit for purpose government, police, justice system, regulatory bodies eg Ofcom in UK

They are an outsourced sales company who work for a number of companies, banks, retailers etc. They are given your details by the card holder etc. you are with and they then contact you to sell aditional services. i.e if you bank with Vanquis, Vanquis have given them your details and asked this company to sell you their (Vanquis) products, so when you contact Vanquis direct they would have no record of a phone call to you as it wasn't them who called. These types of companies are a pain in the backside who emply very low paid aggresive sales people who have to earn commission to bring in a half decent wage. If you have requested for them to stop calling you they have to do this. Also if you are getting called up on your landine register with the TPS this should then stop andy UK based company calling you.

I've just been called , yet again, so I rang back and it was a call from a company called Respondex, on behalf of one of their clients.. I believe it to be Vanquis..

It then prompts you to enter your number if you wish to be deleted from their database.. I did so, and then it went to music so I hung up..

It sounds like the same scenario as SPB mentions below..

My advice would be to either ignore them, and hope they give up and go away, or answer it and tell them that the person they're asking for no longer lives there.

They are outsourced customer services with a number of clients, so if you have a Credit Card or similar, they may well be calling you soon..

just had a call from these on behalf of vanquis,i advised my card was currently under fraud investigation and he couldn't get off the phone quick enough. it was about a promotion they are running on behalf of Vanquis who is one of their clients.

01429868060 keeps ringing my landline and then putting the phone down. This happens every other day. I really want them to stop calling.

Phones bloody 7 times a day!! Stop for heavens sake.

Tried to punch my number into the IVR but I'm still recieving the bloody calls!!!!!

These are a set of con men.

just had 4 calls from this number today no reply  when I answer no idea who it is ringing

This number is ringing me at elast 2ce - 3ce a day. It's really irritating. I've tried ignoring, to no avail. I've tried answering, to be met by silence. Now I just let it go to the answerphone whereon they hang up as soon as it answers.

I don't bank now, nor have I ever had any kind of financial arrangement with Vanquis or Tesco Finance.

Typical conmen all foreign our country is awash with them,keep complaining or get an air horn and blast it down the phone when they ring.

Been receiving calls from this number for over a month. No one answers when I pick up the phone. As I work from home this has now become a serious annoyance.
I wonder if the law can be used to stop them on anti-harassment grounds?

If like me you're fed up with these calls ring your local Trading Standards office. They are run by your local council, so they should be easy enough to get to. If enough calls are made complaining then the Trading Standards office covering the geographic area this company is registered at will start an investigation and possibly close them down.

One thing to note here that others have not mentioned.
Your mobile phone number can now be looked up by any who pays a small sum to a national directory set up by OFCOM last year (as far as I understand). Apparently we all now have to opt-out rather than opt-in to this directory. Which is a basic violation of rights as far as I'm concerned and not very well publicised. This may be why some people are receiving calls to their mobiles. Only may be though.
