had a call from this number but i dont answer unknown numbers which is sad but very necassary given what some of you have written. put the number in my contact list on mobile under name of- dont answer. pity we cant harrass them all hours of day and night.

Answered mobile and after a few seconds the call was ended - could hear talking in background.

I had a call from a this number on saturday saying it was my credit card company , and they asked the normal security questions but i did not reconize the number as i have my banks number in my phone so i took a risk and gave details which im glad i did as a man named lee was the caller , he informed me that a service was on offer with regards to idenity theft and opened my eyes to the crime and what it involved he was very informative and very polite [thankyou lee] , he asked for no credit card details and at the end of the call told me if i have any questions with regards to the number which i did not reconize to call my credit card company which i did and they confirmed that the company [respondez ] was a outsourcing call centre working on our behalf to offer me the product which i did take on the basis that i was already thinking about obtaining a service to protect my id and the call centre agent was good at his job as he explained it to me in a way i would fully understand.

Had a call from this number today. Lady at other end said she was working for Vanquis credit card and wanted to speak about id theft, I questioned the number she was phoning from as I know Vanquis only have offices down south in England and the number she was using is the same area code as where I live. Told her I wasnt that interested, she was polite enough. I then contacted Vanquis and the customer service rep I spoke to said they have no other office other than down south (and South Africa!!!!), I gave her the number for her to pass onto management. For the record we do have call centres here in Hartlepool so who knows??!!!!!

This number has been calling me for the past few days, when i answered the call a lady on the end of the phone sold me a policy from my credit card company or so she said, i didnt give her any details confirming my credit card number but she knew everything, cant believe i was so stupid as to be sucked in !!! i phoned my c. card company who asssured me that they dont have any people doing a promotion on anything at the moment and in fact the number is bogus, have now cancelled my card and waiting for the dispute team to sort it out. DO NOT BE SUCKED IN  like i was, so mad with myself !!

this number has called me several times today,whilst I was teaching. I was unable to answer but I only answer calls from numbers I know. Decided to see if i could find out via google where they were coming from, area code came up as Hartlepool, then decided to see if the full number came up with anything and it threw up this............glad my intuition is so strong.

In all fairness, if they knew everything including your name, telephone no and the fact that they called you from a CC company that you actually hold a card with it means two possibilities....

1) They are a scam and would have tried to get your card details

2) They are a agent representing your card company.

The fact that you say they sold yopu a policy but at no point asked for any financial details would imply the second option is correct.. where is the benefit for them to claim to be your CC company, spend time selling something related to your card but not ask you for any details of a financial nature??.

Logic would say you have been sold something from your card company....

ps I also had this worry but have actually received a CPP policy through the post in the last week.

i beleive this is a scam
i have contacted t-mobile to report this scam.
can any one else tel me how to stop thses calls as t-mobile can do f**k all.

This number keeps calling me, never leaves a voicemail. calls all time of the day, including middle of the night and it wont go away!

Had a call from this number answered it and it was a ringing tone like I was ringing someone so put it down straight away and will never answer it again after reading this site!!

I also got a call from this number today, called it back got the enter ur number to not be contacted again, then confirm it...then line jsut went quiet so i got a bit worried....now they have called again, a guy confirmed my name and then the lien rang dead.....you're right they do seem to be crap at customer service, i have both aqua and vanquis cards, and my payments are not late, they must be trying to sell me sumthing...thanks to all the peeps on this site who have put my mind at ease about these repondez people.....thanks guys.

Had loads of missed calls from this no,  finally took advice and called back, put my number in as directed to receive no further calls.  Will wait and see as they have been silent calling for ages.

Had 2 calls from this number in the last two days. Both times i was busy on my work land line so couldn't answer. Tried calling them back from my work line and just receive a busy tone. Don't know who they are, don't really care to be honest just wish they would stop phoning or at least leave a message on my answer phone. My problem is that the number they are calling is also my work mobile so i do have to answer calls when i'm free even if i don't know who they are.

They keep phoning me and said that they are either from Aqua or Vanquis. I have checked with both companies and they both confirm that it is NOTHING to do with them. It is a scam- HANG UP OR BEST OF ALL, DO NOT ANSWER!!!

Ive had a call from this every hour for last 2 weeks almost. After reading this got a bit worried, as I did answer to them the other day and they advised they were ringing on behalf of my credit card supplier vanquis. Without thinking I answered there questions giving my date of birth, full name and address. I have just phone vanquis after reading these messages and you may be happy to know they are a qenuine company. Vanquis hire them to ring people and sell identity protection insurance. Vanquis also advised me, that this company work on behalf of many other companies as well selling all types of products. I've now answered the call again and advised them I'm not interested and haven't received a call since. Hope that's put some peoples minds at ease.

contacted my cc provider they dont deal with my cc

raised it with them

Ok these calls are annoying.  If you are fed up of it, just dial the number and enter your number when asked, to be removed from their cslling list.
