- boblol... Bit extreme isnt it?
- SheraleeIve had a call from this every hour for last 2 weeks almost. After reading this got a bit worried, as I did answer to them the other day and they advised they were ringing on behalf of my credit card supplier vanquis. Without thinking I answered there questions giving my date of birth, full name and address. I have just phone vanquis after reading these messages and you may be happy to know they are a qenuine company. Vanquis hire them to ring people and sell identity protection insurance. Vanquis also advised me, that this company work on behalf of many other companies as well selling all types of products. I've now answered the call again and advised them I'm not interested and haven't received a call since. Hope that's put some peoples minds at ease.
- davegot a call from this number ... on behalf of my cc provider ... called the number IVR states this co name http://www.respondez.co.uk/

- garyok guys i had a call from this number offering me id protection which i took , within 4 days i received the policy through the post which im happy with , i did contact my cc company and spoke to a lady who at first said they dont employ a company to sell this ,30 min later i get a call back from lady apologizing saying that the company was a legitimite outsourcing company which my cc employed, so conclusion is that a certain lack of communication has arised and also a guy called rick {page 4} made a good point if they are a scam why dont they ask for credit card details where is the benifit for them if it is a scam and how did i receive my policy if they didnt already have my cc details, and the details they ask for at start of call is for data protection act , surely you would not want them to disscuss your account with just anyone!!! so use your head guys think before you type.
- Tigger69The point of this site as I see it is to either reassure or warn us who's called, so maybe now its established this number is a genuine sales call from company contracted out by a credit card company. That doesn't mean it has always been the same company or always will be! Its a possibility, the number may have been used for a previous scam and is now the number for a different company. Maybe everybody should stop and think before they type negative comments about other peoples experiences.
Thanks to all the people who have commented about this number, I had a call from them, but didn't manage to get to the phone in time. Given the info above, it would make sense they tried to call me. - LeeWould like to know why they called us then as we don't have ANY credit cards.
- Jamesum they are an outsource centre?? It would stand to reason they deal with more than just credit cards company's maybe Lee? Possibly you have been a victim of identity theft!
- carlor maybe lee u do have a cc but you dont want your missus to know about it lol.
- Gordon HallIn my case it was Vanquis trying to sell me Credit Card protection insurance. I told them that I was not intereseted - they thanked me for my time and said goodbye.
- Caller: Vanquis
- PCalled BT - Not much use !
Advised to call BT Privacy and report it:
08001218000 - DanielleI first received a call from these people about a week ago, I answered and only got background noise.. I stayed on the line for about 20 seconds before they put the phone down on me without saying a word. Since then, I have had EIGHT missed calls from them in the space of 4 days with times ranging from 9.30am to gone 7pm at night.
Has anybody called them back and entered their number to be taken off the calling list? If so, has this worked? - louiseHi they called my number 6 times in a row at 1pm today thinking it was an emergency, and being concerned i rang it back as soon as i answered it went to an automated system asking me to enter my mobile number and DOB to be removed from the list. I decided to google it first. Be very careful!

- Pamela MalcolmThis number keeps calling me but thanks to your posts I have not answered any. I am telephone protected (apparently) but still keep getting these calls regularly
- DMFirst of all this number is not a "scam" as people are jumping to the conclusion of. The number belongs to British Telecom in Hartlepool (North East England for those who lack basic geography).
The number belongs to a call centre in Hartlepool called "Respondez Uk Ltd" which is an outsourcing centre, and call people on behalf of many clients totally ignoring the Telephone Preference Service.
I myself have received numerous calls from these guys trying to sell me anything from an extended SKY warranty to loft insulation.
They'll only ask for your bank details if you agree to buy or offer to by something from them, just as if you phoned an on-line retailer, they'll want your payment information just the same.
I'm sure everyone here means well, but don't jump the gun just because you were asked for your banking information that the company are immediately scammers/fraudsters.
And what I do find so assuming is that the first place people go to report a scam is the internet, what ever happened to phoning the police to report it to them that people are phoning you asking for bank details?- Caller: Respondez Uk Ltd

- tiggumsI also had a call from these people. They said they were calling on behalf of my credit card company. The only details they asked for were my name, postcode and YEAR of birth. The guy specifically insisted he only wanted the year and not my full date of birth. The product he was promoting (identity theft protection) sounded really good, he was very knowledgeable and did not ask for any personal details or bank/card info as he said as he was calling on behalf of my card company, they already had all these details. I don't know about the calls from this call centre on behalf of other companies, but if they say they are from Vanquis and calling about identity theft, They are worth listening to.

- Tigger69I have posted a comment earlier about this company! As recent comments suggest its a company who are contracted out to do sales, mostly insurance by the sounds of things.
They keep ringing to speak to hubby, but he's never around when they phone. So they say they'll call back. Possibly sales for identity protection!
I think their calls are made through an automated dialer system, hence the moments of silence when you pick up the phone. Annoying I know but at least we can safely say its a sales call, not a scam at the present time!- Caller: 01429868835

- beehad a missed call from this number and wanted to see who it was . But since reading the comment I'm not going to call them back are answer the phone if they call again
- Tigger69| 1 replyOk now these people are doing my nut in!!
They can't seem to understand that the person they want to speak to works office hours, hence is not home at lunch time Monday to Friday, they phoned yesterday lunch time AGAIN, I told them AGAIN, that hubby is at work, but did manage to ask if they wanted to speak to him in regard to |ID protection, got a rather blunt sharp NO before she slammed the phone down.
Need I add they phoned again at lunchtime today, but all I got was silence! If anyone knows how to stop these calls I would be grateful.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Spence replies to Tigger69"I think their calls are made through an automated dialer system, hence the moments of silence when you pick up the phone"
Thats more than likely why your getting repeat calls... If you dont want to get any more calls just tell them not to phone anymore. Worked for me.
