You have listed 17 companies  in all , 8 have been dissolved  because they were no longer required ,3 were formed but are still dormant,3 continue to be active,1 was put into liquidation, and one i resigned from . The remaining company i have already explained the situation to you. I am not obligated to anyone to give you this explanation  but i have so i hope this satisfies you

Because i act for a company it does not mean that i am involved inthe company , i act for over 600 people but i am not involved with them , no more than when a solicitor acts for someone he is defending . Again what has this to do with capita oak.

Downs wont be able to answer anymore questions as he is off to build a wall this afternoon, followed by cutting someone's hair, then fixing a car, then cutting a lawn, painting outside of a house, and then finally a construction of a brand new building because according too 'Jones The Mortician', just because he does these peoples accounts, he also goes out and helps them with their work too.

I'm surprised though that as well as doing all this work with his clients, he still finds time to answer IDIOTS like you!!

To be perfectly honest if you were being paid good money to act for alan fowler and william perkins as i am .Then you will under stand why i must not say anything that i am not at liberty to say .I am acting for them only nothing more.

A lot of people clearly feel that BD misled, delayed, obfuscated, and deliberately omitted. And they probably have a point.

But then again, he wasn't employed by or acting for the victims, so what should we expect?

If you ask an accountant what 2 + 2 is, he'll answer "what would you like it to be?". He knows on which side his bread is buttered, and won't have survived for as long as he has in his trade without knowing where the edges of the law are.

A very valid point.  But I do wish Downs would shut up.  He keeps talking about himself and trying to defend/justify what he did and didn't do.  But this isn't about Downs, it is about 300 people who may have lost their pensions and the terrible distress they are going through.  Downs was paid to keep a lid on things while Perkins and Fowler waited for the Insolvency Service to take control - which they knew would happen back in September 2014.  Clearly he was instructed not to do accounts or valuations so he was only doing what he was told.  Poor schmuck.  But not as poor as the Capita Oak victims.

I do agree but if I am attacked then I will defend ,I assure you that everything that could have been done has been done . I am sorry but I cannot say any more.

To be fair there are a lot of people who are understandably angry, and it was a big mistake appointing an accountant who was instructed by Perkins and Fowler.  Downs should have had the sense to refuse and insist it was handed to an independent accountant.  Bit of a poisoned challice and a no-win situation for Downs.  But then he didn't understand pensions or what was going on in the wider world.

The only point that you have got right is that has developed into a poison chalice for me  . I was not appointed by alan fowler  or bill perkins  and i was and still am independent . All accountants are independent unless they are also a director of the company and even then you are still permitted to act for the company and your accountancy firm can still sign off accounts unless an audit is required . I can assure you i did understand what was going on, at least give me credit for the fact that i have been in practice for over 50 years and do have a wide knowledge  of the world and what goes on . You seem to give me credit in one breath and then discredit me .

The point is you are buddies with the bad guys. Look at Payne for example.

He helped himself to over 450k, which he basically stole from the Capita Oak pot and then had the nerve to say it was an admin charge. What a complete T O S S E R
