These activities when undertaken by an insurance undertaking or an employee of an insurance undertaking who is acting under the responsibility of the insurance undertaking shall not be considered as insurance mediation.
The provision of information on an incidental basis in the context of another professional activity provided that the purpose of that activity is not to assist the customer in concluding or performing an insurance contract, the management of claims of an insurance undertaking on a professional basis, and loss adjusting and expert appraisal of claims shall also not be considered as insurance mediation." - T12 replies to FCA| 2 repliesWonder if he uses this one for admin

Well done NFIB, I was offered this and contacted the FCA ... who stated that this type of investment is not covered by them and therefore if I got an IFA to make the recommendations I would be covered by them and the protection they offer.... now that is what I call a serious scam

Having had a client lose c.£60k on a storefirst investment (assuming they cant sell second hand store pods for what they paid) I am totally sickened to see that this is an identical offering to the Storefirst, bizarrely I note that one of the Directors of Parkfirst is Toby Whittaker who appears with alarming regularity in these schemes, please can someone tell me how these people can get away with these blatantly dubious schemes?

@W K Clark
Is it because they are not regulated by the FCA and it is never their fault that the investment went bad after they had taken all their charges etc.

But then the FSCS and the abulance chasing lawyers turn round and blame the IFA community.

@A different point of view Believe me if you look into these investments they are never going to do anything but go bad, my clients were a painter & decorator and a beautician, they did not understand it so were sold it. Their storepods were virtually never rented out but they still got a 8% return for the first two years, so it was either a Ponzi or inflated purchase price to fund the "income", also I understand the commission paid to the investment company was in the region of 30%. These types of scheme should be clamped down on as in my opinion they are nothing but a rip off from the start.

@JamesL It was an ifa that set up the sip to take the investment for the client without meeting them or even phoning them, it would not have taken a genius to realise it was not at all suitable but know he set up a sipp, excluded all responsibility for the investment decision but still charged c.6%. FOS found in our favour. It is scum like this that make life difficult for decent IFA's. and btw did I mention the IFA was also a director of the investment company

If the NFIB feel it is sufficiently clear-cut to issue an open warning to investors and refer to the investments as a "scam" and describe them as Ponzi schemes, why are those in charge not being prosecuted for fraud?
If there is insufficient evidence to prosecute them for fraud, why are those involved in the scheme not suing the NFIB for libel?- Caller: store First Park First Toby Whittaker

- such replies to All roads| 8 repliesa coincidence I was just having a look at apt 518 and the dodgy businesses registered there. no surprise that Toby Whittaker owns Quebec Building, its where he was based before the business centres started popping up. Anyone noticed that he has registered a lot of new companies all with the locations of his store sites? e.g. Grangemate Blackburn ltd
