There are comparisons between the two but Capita Oak is a little different...hopefully UK. .
This will not fizzle out...In fact I am pretty certain this is about to kick off again.
As Karen said,lot going on behind the scenes and I think that the lull is just the same as previously, we are about to start again...ombudsman, solicitors etc

The FT seem to be treading very carefully for fear of having lawyers set on them. Even HMRC and the Pensions Regulator refused to give a real quote of any sort.

I think it's slightly unfair to call the FT lazy. They went into detail about Ark, mentioning that some people got huge tax bills bigger than the original pension, they quoted Angie, they asked HMRC and the Pensions Regulator for a comment and both refused. What else can they do? You can't really accuse the new schemes of being dodgy when there are few details available, they haven't been proven so in court (yet) and both HMRC and the Pensions Regulator are holding their tongues.

The "Ward says Ark is history" story is the front page news on the paper copy of Financial Adviser (the FT's weekly newspaper for IFAs). So the FT is aware of its significance.

Everybody is so afraid of being sued - even if they tell the truth.  And in fact, even a sniff of a lawyer's letter with sinister threats sends most people into panic.  FT Adviser think most people will have been able to "read between the lines".  You tell that to someone contemplating suicide because of the despair of their situation after they have been a victim of Stephen Ward and his cronies and are facing not just losing their pension but also their home.  Sorry, but I stand firm behind the word "lazy".

Schemes with no professional trustees, clients with no idea where their money is or how much there is left, loans offered in clear breach of HMRC's own rules, no annual statements and I reckon the list goes on and on.

Get a female journalist onto this, they have more b..... than a lot of us!

The list of titles might explain why no action was taken. Vested interests ?
