Have had a few calls, I didn’t recognise the number so never answered any of them – calls have stopped now – this option seems to work – ignore them and they will go away.

Got this pre-recorded call telling me that I had 'opted in'. False! I have never opted in to anything without giving it a thorough vetting and never give out my land line number. I am ex-directory and registered with the TPS. It's time that all phone providers supplied 'caller ID' free as part of the package.

Called on a regular bases

Sick of getting these calls. No one seems to know how to control them. Have had so many of these types of calls and International - out of area calls we have stopped answering the phone unless we  know the caller.

I went through to the operator, politely asked to be removed from database and they didnt even wait for me to finish the sentence but hung straight up. Rude, preying time wasters. They need to be shut down.

I got a text message saying they had been trying to get hold of me about a PPI they knew exactly how much I was due just text post and they would send me out a pack when I got home found they had tried to contact me on my landline I two do not have any loans or credit cards and I am in council property

STOP CALLING

Scam scum with a recorded message saying that I had opted in to receiving calls:- a total lie, I would never want contact from these parasites.  Alleged that I could write off 70% of any debts.

usual debt junk - dont have any and didnt sign up for it but they still call on - want to rip out ther balla

what really get me is that it is a listed number from a so called legitimate phone company - they know their subscriber is harrassing people but the still take their money, they dont cut them off, THEY ARE PART OF IT!

Recorded message from "Department of Compensation" about being due compensation for an accident.

Since I was feeling playful, I thought I'd press 5 to talk to an operator, I asked him to tell me what accident he was talking about, since they had rung me.

He hung up.

Phoned with recorded message 12h41, 26FEB13: Important information about writing off outdated debt; believe I have unsecured loans over £10,000; 70% can be legally written off; I've previously opted in (NOT!). Ring 5 to speak; 9 to unsub. Hung on the line till call was dropped.

recorded message aboout me being in debt and that we had opted in to get such messages which is absolute rubbish I don't owe a penny.  Fed up with all these nuisance calls and want them stopped forthwith

If you want them stopped you need to do your bit.  All prerecorded calls and texts should be reported to the Information Commissioner's Office.  They are working to get the calls stopped but need everyone who gets a call to report it via their website.

PLEASE, EVERYONE:  LOG A COMPLAINT WITH OFCOM

no message left but saw number on phone. debt write off must be new scam.on TPS too so have no idea why they consider it ok to call me.

As other callees* said, when I answered the call (with the intention of telling them to stop ringing!), all I got was an automated message saying something like, "This is a debt information service, You've been called because you opted IN to receive this information. Please listen carefully..." (which is where I hung up).
As with other callees, this was a lie, as I'd most definitely NOT opted in to receive any such info!
Info callees may find helpful:
1) when these calls say "to stop receiving these calls, please press 3"  DON'T press 3, because often such calls then charge your phonebill loadsa dosh
2) automated messages can be reported to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at www.ico.gov.uk  which leads to the specific reporting page  https://www.snapsurveys.com/swh/surveylogin.asp?k=134674895144

Got a call from this number earlier - thankfully I had my arms full so left it to go to msg & then checked 1471. Off to report it now

They called at 10.15 today about my recent injury. I got a splinter on saturday, but I don't know who to claim against. Trees ?? Anyway, I hung up, logged a complaint then fed the number into my trust CPR CallBlocker.
