Got call from this number today. Because of the volume of these unsolicited calls I have my answer machine on all the time. It's set to two rings and then kicks in. If anyone really wants to speak to me they would. These callers hang up as soon as the answer phone kicks in. Shame this is the route I have to take now.

Did you get an answer about the complaint to the TPS as I am also registered with them but this company is still making calls so TPS have not managed to stop them

Just had a call from this number, didn't answer as I didn't recognise it. No message left on answerphone, so I called th number back. And guess what - I got the "number unobtainable" tone. Obviously ambulance chasers or debt collectors

TPS doesn't cover automated calls.  These need to be reported to the Information Commissioner's Office.  They are acti ely working to stop nuisance calls of all types and recently fined two men £440,000 for setting up a n automated call system.  They also fined a cold calling company (DM Designs) £90,000 last week for ignoring TPS rules.  Reporting is easy on the ICO website and you don't need the caller's name, only the 'phone number.  The more complaints they get about a company, the quicker they can act.

Got a call from this number today.
I have "Choose to refuse" with BT so I barred the call but the number 0121 210 0666 was read back to me by the system. Beware!

Automated call on landline @17.04 today

Like the others'. A recorded, well-spoken English male voice, telling me that I had Opted In to receive 'updates from the Financial Services industry' (nonsense) & that I could "legally write off 70% of existing debts" (ridiculous); press 5 to speak to operator, who'd arrange to send out info 'pack'; press 9 'to avoid future updates'. I did nothing at all & the call disconnected before I did.   The number (ostensibly at Keith in Scotland) is "not recognised" if one tries to call it.  BT can offer no real explanation and, when asked what can be done, says "Nothing".  I receive calls of this nature almost every day; if they are not just 'hang-ups', I post comments such as this, here and on as many similar sites as I can find (By the way, this number has been reported many times, elsewhere), but it seems to do no good.  Keep going, though!  Potential victims might just check the Internet before being suckered.

Pre-recorded unsolicited message.  I put the phone down, as none of it mnade sense to me.

Same as previous caller.  Sounds very dodgy if you cant call them, or a different number is coming up. Will report to ICO.

Get an answering machine,,when someone calls don't answer when the machine says leave a message after the tone , they just hang up. If a call is important the caller wil speak and leave a message.

I think it's the first time I've had this number (probably not the last) - couldn't believe so many pages about them!  Got caller display, didn't answer, no message left of course.  I've noticed these types of people are less likely to use withheld now and are using "geographical" numbers so people are more likely to think they're genuine if they see the number displayed?  Well not this person, only answer if I recognise the number.  Totally fed up with them all.

Tried. the number is not recognised! wish someone would sue them for everything they've got.

Same experience as everyone else.  I do not have any debts and have not opted into any scheme. This was not even a person to whom I could keep talking (and waste their time!) - it was just a recorded message.

Just had a call from this number only 10 minutes after a different nuisance call from another number, despite being ex-directory and registered with telephone preference.

This one was a recorded message, very similar to those quoted above, also saying I opted in. That is total rubbish because I'm absolutely not interested in their product. I put the phone down before there was any opion to press buttons, which I wouldn't do anyway in case it started charging me a fortune.

Registered with tps but they still call.  Is tps any use?
