Well thats news to me! "Press 5 etc" so I did. "Get this effing number deleted NOW". Area code indicates based in Keith, Scotland.

Informs you that you can get up to 70% of outstanding debt written off. Not so good as statute of limitations then re the 6 years total write off? GOT SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!

As other callers, the message states that opted in to financial marketing calls.  I never opt in to anything.

I also had a call a little while ago which consisted of a recorded message and sounded almost exactly if not exactly like the other shown on your website:-   "This is an important message. If you owe more than £10,000 you can get 70% of it written off.  You are receiving this call because you have opted IN to receiving these types of calls from the financial services industry".  After hanging up I dialled 1471 and learnt that the caller was:-  0154 284 2715.  I am sure that I have NOT opted in from such calls.  I tried to ring the number to request no further such calls but was unable to get thru.  

Yes I expect it is a scam, but also they should be stopped from making such calls!

Got a call from them just now. They don't say anything though, it's just silent.

Annoying automated scam call

keep getting calls about debt clearance and are clearly mis informed as I have no debts and when you press option 5 to speak to someone as soon as you mention why you are calling they hang up

Had a recorded message call from this lot today. Sure enough, if I ring back "the number has not been recognised." They are a real pain.

when the answerphone cut in, they hung up. A pity I have to leave the answerphone on all the time these days :(

Reported to ICO - they've called twice today.

Just had a write off 70% recorded message, same as others described. I pressed 9 to get taken off their list in the hope of finding out who they are but the line went dead. We are on the TPS so I'd really like to take action against them. It's well past time that this sort of thing was stopped.

I'm not convinced that it's technically a scam but it's certainly a nuisance and shouldn't happen due to TPS.

Please TPS stop these people, or let GCHQ to intercept this type of ionternational criminal, if yo0u are as useless as we all seem to believe. Why do we pay taxes for TPS to be mere paper tigers?

Consider a call blocker, I've a CPR. It comes with numbers onboard but you can add new ones as you go along, you need caller ID though.

It`s about time BT worked for it`s customers and blocked these scam calls. Of course they would probably appeal to the Human Rights Court and win. Since it`s easer to block scam calls on mobile phones I am considering ditching the home phone and using a mobile broadband source for browsing the web if they get fast and cheap enough.

Same recorded message as everyone else, about how we have opted-in to receive their message - despite being TPS-registered for more than ten years! - and press buttons to enrich them while they pretend to write off our (non-existent) debts.

Please try to get rid of these crooks who are wasting my time and the planet's oxygen.

because this looks like a genuine caller inclined to pick up, but we have an answering m/c, they do not leave a message.  surprise, surprise.

I find these numbers call when I have filled in competitions, its always after I have put my land line number. I find they dont call mobiles often.

'I have opted in to receive financial information.'  I think not.

We have signed with TPS.  Does it make a difference - what do you think?
