Two calls from this company Debt Response. Both times very rude and stated that they had the right to call my telephone number. I asked them to remove my telephone number from their listing but the man stated he was not doing anything wrong in calling my number. We are registered with both TPS and CPR Global but that did the company telephoning.

CPR Call Prevention Registry www.duedil.com/company/05415867/call-prevention-registry-uk-limited went bust after people discovered they were a scam. CPR Global scam is just the new name, same scam.

Bogus TPS Calls

The Telephone Preference Service is completely free to consumers.

TPS will not call a subscriber of the service to ask for personal details or payment to complete a registration.

If you have registered via the web and have received an e-mail confirmation and clicked on the attached link, that's it! Your number will be registered for FREE with TPS.

We will not contact you again in relation to your registration (unless you have number(s) registered with the Corporate TPS, where we will contact you annually by email to renew your subscription - this is still a free service).

If you do receive a call from someone claiming to be from the TPS or a similar sounding organisation, asking for personal information or charging you for this service, our advice is to not pay or give them any personal details, it is most likely a scam.

We are aware of a number of organisations that call from overseas, possibly India claiming to be TPS or affiliated with TPS or BT. They ask for your credit card details to complete a registration to stop unwanted calls. They often claim that you previously gave your permission for this call. This is a scam. Never give out your credit card details over the phone.

There are other companies that are not necessarily scams but they are not TPS. They usually claim to offer a similar or even an enhanced service to TPS.

They make exaggerated claims about the effectiveness of their service and may even suggest that TPS does not work.

TPS is the only official Opt Out service that companies are required to abide by under the UK law and that is regulated by Ofcom and enforced by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

I dialled 1471 as didn't get to phone in time - was given the number and pressed 3 to dial it  -was told try again as number didn't exist or words to that effect.So, I do not know who called even though 1471 gave me the number. We subscribe to TPS but still get loads of unwanted calls. Is there anything we can do to get rid of this number  and the ignorant nuisances behind it?

18-3-2013 Silent call to registered TPS telephone.They are beneath contempt.

Had a call today from this number no message left, get number not recognised when you call back. Also registered with TPS but this does not appear to stop unwanted calls.

Just got a call from this number.  I didn't answer as I didn't recognise the number on my Caller ID.  Doesn't matter anyway.  One button push on my CPR Call Blocker and it has been blocked on my line.  Just like all the others have  :-)   No problemo!

Even though I am a member of TPS I still get these calls. WHO is this company so that I can report them?

This number keeps calling my landline but NEVER leaves a message.  If this a scam, then they should be stopped & their number cut off!

Like so many before me, I received a recorded message from 01542 842715, but as soon as word was mentioned that I'd been mis-sold something, I put down the phone.

Like 'moon', I too had had this call a few minutes after "those other scammers "UK Today" had phoned up" (and I think that that call came from India; assessed not only by the accent, but also from the terrible 'echo' on the line  -  which I 'played on' until the caller put down his phone  -  a 'number-witheld' caller!)

Why is TPS so ineffective, and why oh why is my precious time being wasted by these *!?**^!!!!s
