We have been getting calls from this number over the past few weeks. They seem to pick the time just as we are getting the kids to sleep ..... and it wakes them all up!!!!!! I am ex-directory and getting really annoyed with this kind of intrusion into my private time from a dodgy company that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole anyway! How do I get them to stop? Any ideas?

hey Mark, if you look a few pages back on this thread there are some email and postal addresses in relation to this company submitted by some pretty miffed former employees or good researchers, the company appears not to be breaking any rules but apparrently you can contact them to remove your details from their computerised auto-dialer, some people claimed that it worked, i might have a bash at it later and see if it works....

just been reading through the whole thread and cant believe how many people are posting their defence claiming to work for the firm in question, fair do's its not their fault regarding the auto-dialling system but quite alot of people on here are complaining of the caller being quite aggressive in their manner, i have experienced such behaviour, im a easy going guy but the guy who called me earlier today was quite rude...

ok to clarify-> i work at amanico, and know russell, work along side russell, and transfer many happy customers over to him to set up FP quotations which are FREE. we only make money on quotations which are taken up and not until that happens.

Im stage one which is the bottom of the pack and russell is stage three and is earning a substantially higher wage than most for his age. he is not in management and is doing this to correct the misguided or just damn right ignorant people that are posting on here, he isnt paid for this.

before people like bob post some comment saying "blah blah i like to big myself up on this site and turn peoples words around blah blah" or "blah blah get a better job blah blah" id like to say im a student and this job is the best paid summer job i can get and is possible to get regardless of grades etc etc, its only for summer after all.

amanico is still trading and has been for 5 years so as for this fraud [***], you would think any fraud would have been found and the company shut down.

people who are being phoned HAVE filled in a survey and therefore its not cold calling so you are your own worst enemy. its human nature to be nasty to those nasty to you, so being sh*tty on the phone isnt going to get you anywhere, show some manners and youll recieve the same back, after all, we dont know you so our impression of you is how you are on the phone. all of us who call you are student and are around the age of 18 so calling us turds and other insults is like turning to your kid and calling him/her and [***]. you insulting minors which makes you worse than any of the isults your giving us.

This number has been calling me repeatedly for weeks now from 8.45a.m. to 9.00pm, my children made the mistake of answering the call last night and they told them to tell me they were from the benefits agency and I needed to answer the call. I have just rung the benefits agency and they know nothing of it and do not work past 5pm anyway. I am seriously conscidering calling trading standards and reporting them.

Been getting calls constantly from this number for the past couple of weeks.  Have tried calling back but recording says "the number you have dialed has not been recognised".  My phone rings, I rush to answer it, then they hang up!  Infuriating!  I am contacting BT for what it's worth

Like I've said before, we do apologise if you answer the phone and nobody answers and it is purely because of the dialler we use, its not that the operators are being rude.  There are, however, a couple of comments on here that are about the manner of our operators.  In response, I will say that all our calls are recorded and if our quality control department finds anybody to rude or aggressive on the phone then they will face a disciplinary.  Now this is the same in any company, so these people will be found out.  I'd be quite interested to know who "im a good guesser of numbers and details" is tho, im not askin for your name just a clue hehe"!  And if anybody is dialling 1471 and finding that the number is not recognised, that's because we are a CALL CENTRE and don't use normal dialling lines.  If you want to know that much who has called you, dial 01606 336400.  You will get through to reception and they will help you with whatever you want.

two different numbers have been dialling me. noted Andy's comment" I just rang 01606 336 400 and asked them to take my number off the database.  Let's see shall we ........"

I rang it girl was polite, saild the number will be reomved from the dialler. So same as Andy remark "Let's see shall we"

Whatever you call these [***] could never be worse than living in such a god forsaken inbred [***] that is winsford, so take some kind of comfort out of that, and buy yourselves an answering machine so you can vet your calss

I note that these comments have not been disowned (astonishingly) by any representative of aMANICo management, or even by their unpaid, acting, does it all out of the good of his heart, doesn't earn a penny for it, representative "Russell". (Sorry, I'm  giggling uncontrollably, now, please pardon me while I recover. It's so hard to giggle and type at the same time.)Could we also have DNA tests on "Good guesser " and "Russell" - I'm afraid some unkind people might think they are the same.

But even if we take things as they stand, I'm sure we will all be willing to entrust our hard earned savings and financial prospects to such a team of highly trained, experienced, super competent, objective, committed, customer focussed etc.

Or not, as the case may be.

I also noticed this from "Russell" a couple of months ago:

I'm afraid the truth is that "Russell", whoever he or she may be, is one big liar, and is certainly involved, directly or indirectly, in the ownership and management of aMANICo.

You wanna sue me Russell, sweetcheeks? Go right ahead. This is an offer to pay £5 damages into court. From now on, you pay my costs and yours. I will await your writ. I won't hold my breath.

these people keep calling me 3 or 4 times a week. i am not usually at home, so when my girlfriend answers the phone they ask for me but will never leave a message or say who they are. the last call was at 6pm on Bank Holiday Monday.... i missed the call so tried to call them back but the line is just dead.

were not from winsford so i have no idea what your on about. you obviously know alot about winsford and perhaps you are double bluffing to cover the fact you are one of these inbred [***] you talk about.

please use some intelligence and read previous posts and youd discover we are infact in northwich. also there is something called a car that you can use to commute to work, so even if it was in winsford, not everyone working there would be from winsford.

When did I say anything about sueing you Bob?  All I said was if you want to take action besides assuming things on here you don't know for certain, then go ahead, I can't stop you.  I would happily take a DNA test just to prove to you how wrong you actually are.  Yes, 2 months ago I was with an agency but have since been taken on permanent, although the point you were trying to make about that is still a little unclear.

You're quite right, I don't get paid for posting on here, but come on, how many people do you know who DO get paid for this?  I started writing because I was annoyed with people having a go at my collegues but after reading the replies from some of you, I just can't believe how blinkered some of you are.  You don't know anything besides the name of the company and suddenly you're telling me I'm a manager there?  If that's the way its going, I'm going to take what I know about you, Bob, and say that you have your own building firm.  Am I right?

they keep ringing my home phone, the number of which is registered with the telephone preference service, so i am about to make a complaint which will result in financial connections getting a hefty £10,000 fine, five grand of which will come to me for compensation!

I doubt if we can bankrupt them - I leave that to the regulatory authorities -but hey! why not try? But I would suggest that all posts made here should include specific mention of aMANICo and Financial Connections. This makes it much more likely that people like Teresa above (I assume) who Google them will end up here, and will learn something really useful, ie that people describing themselves as aMANICo employees have posted here

* describing one of the boss ladies as a dopehead
* claiming a rather closer relationship with a major and reputable insurer than actually exists
* admitting that the front line staff are generally temp students
* demonstrating that at least one of the aforesaid front line staff has a singularly poor command of English spelling and punctuation
* claiming to be a lowly employee, handling aMANICo and Financial Connections PR on a voluntary and unpaid basis, while their management remain resolutely unconcerned and silent
* and assuming that we were all born yesterday, and, despite the above, will rush to do business with them.

So far as I am concerned, this is an outfit which hopes to make significant profits by using underhand methods to obtain names and phone numbers, and underhand methods to communicate with those they phone. I hope I have made serious inroads into that particular business model. I will continue to do so. I think a call to Companies House will be my next move......

Enough already! Bloody hell is there no end to everyone's whinging? I've been lucky enough to not get many sales calls in my time at all and the ones I do get I just politely ask to be taken off the dialler and every time I don't hear back from that company. It's bound to happen sooner or later. But for God's sake Bob why don't you just take it as truth what the employees are saying? Maybe this "Russell" just keeps replying because he likes arguing and winding you up? And you're playing right into his hands. And maybe the managers aren't really that bothered about what people are saying on here because they're enjoying the money their company has made in one way or the other, and will continue doing so regardless of this website. There are hundreds of businesses that are guilty of mal-practise but I don't hear you complaining about them! And if we're handing out corrections free of charge, I looked into this company a bit and its Connexions, not Connections, but surely if you know all about this company then you knew that, right?

All bar two of the employees posting here - and I have my suspicions about both of them - have made extremely rude remarks about the company, its senior management, or both.

* You appear to agree that aMANICo is guilty of malpractice. I'm so happy that we agree. You appear to suggest that I should ignore this. There we don't agree.
* You do not and cannot know which other companies I might have complained about. But I can assure you that once my teeth are in, they stay in, as many (though, I must admit, by no means all!) of the errant companies I have had to deal with, could testify.

Incidentally, unless we are being extremely devious, we all tend to write using much the same verbal tics. I have asked my linguistic / forensic colleagues to have a good look at the message I'm replying to, and compare it with previous messages from "Russell". They have advised me that there is a strong correlation.
