sent out many cv's via email so did not question the email from cedardirect asking me for an interview based upon 'my previous experience and skills'. I turned up to the interview in nottingham, minerva house and was seated with other candidates and asked to complete an application form and hand in my cv. The office was not even an office, it comprised of a shoddy front reception with 2 people sat at the desk, and then about 3 other rooms and a massive warehouse space. the reception classed themselves as "HR" upon answering the phone and transfered callers over to another colleague...both receptionists were sat together. thus creating the illusion of some massive company to callers. I had my interview, more like an informal chat about whether i was management potential as they were looking for people to fast track to managers within 10months?? i was then told there would be 6 successful people out of the interviews of the day and to await a call back, i received my call back and was asked to attend a second interview that was to be more formal. i was told to dress smart and b there at 9am. which i did, all excited that i had a job prospect etc. I turned up on time, and then had to wait 40mins to be "interviewed" i was taken out into the corridor with my mentor for the day and had a quick chat with them, before being taken through town, bundled into a car and told we were going to ikea. Upon arrival i assumed my observation day of the company would begin. They put up their stall of victoria jackson makeup and i stood their whilst they sold units to ikea customers for about an hour. The rest of my "observation" day was spent in the ikea cafe and wandering back and forth to my mentor for more questions on how the company works, and different aspects of marketing. In total i was in the ikea cafe from 11am untill half 5. we then went back to the office and i had my second interview...the one i thought would occur at 9am...as i was not told of this observation day that lasted till 6pm. i was told to fill in an application form again, and answer some more questions to see what i had learnt about the day....eeeerm nothing i was sat away from anything they did in the cafe all day! the mentor told me what i had to write down in this form on the way to the office. :/ i was then told that they all really like me and would love to take me on. i asked about pay...and their answer was 'well just take home your commission from the day in cash or we can save it in the safe weekly or monthly'. i went home slightly dazed and annoyed but thought hey...i have a job, and based on the structure i could earn 52k in a year....ha. id been totally brain washed. calling friends and family to notify them how it went just made it sound so dodgy and i talked myself out of going on my induction day.

after reading what people have put on here, i had the same experience and its shocking how people can get away with this. my friend received a call from these people the other day, researched them and found this. Its a shame i didnt. would have saved me two days of utter crap.

i got 2 missed calls from 01612001115 and from 01612287435, one claiming to be G Force and the other Paramount Force. i rang the first number and a girl name jo answered and told me that they viewed my cv and they were very impressed with it! she told me that my interview is on Monday at 2.30.
as soon as i hung up i rang the second number and again the same girl name jo answered, i recognised that it was the same person and i asked her if i had just spoken with her but she said no and gave me an interview on Monday at 4.30
Thankfully though i googled the company before going to the interview and found that they have been doing this since 2009.
Get as far away from them as possible

I found this thread by accident.  Looking for SMS Marketing - had a funny feeling about it when I got an email after submitting CV for lots of jobs posted on the Internet.

Phone number is 01603 230816 - not the one listed, but one of the Google results showed the same address - 11 Orford Place, Norwich NR1 3RU as the 'interview' I am meant to be going to this afternoon.

Checked the company name on Companies House website - only two companies registered with that identical name, both with registered offices in Sheffield, one dissolved on 05/05/2009, the other incorporated on 06/05/2009.

    Thanks everyone replies to scamspotter
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted on this page - didn't read it in time to save me from the 'preliminary interview' but thankfully stopped me going to 'training' tomorrow! It's totally outrageous that people can get away with this (and have continued to for some time now). What ****s me off most of all is the fact that that woman could sit and lie to my face like that. ****S!!!

I got called by Jo too. Unfortunately didn't come across these forums before the interview - despite my suspicions I decided to go as am really desperate to get a job. To everyone considering going to one of these 'interviews', don't waste your time. Anyone with half a brain can see they're taking everyone for a ride.

Well I for one would love to raze that dickinson house to the ground...
I was immensely angry after taking the second observation day interview. I was too polite to leave after the door-to-door started and was good banter i guess. Then when I was taken back to the office at like 9:30pm lol I thought I'd just take them for a ride after loads of whispering etc. I pointed out during the day its almost like free labour for the company on these 'observation' days he didnt exactly respond. Maybe due to what I wrote on the final app form they weren't impressed and asked if I could distinguish myself higher than the competition. I said I'm not better than them and walked out. Wasting my reps time as he could have been at home by now. I came on here and understand everyones frustrations, its hugely exploitative and glad im still in a job, I just had a day off open to new experience. At least he got me a discounted burger at McDs which he had an employee card for he said he used to do 'training' for them. LOL he was only 17...It makes me cry coz McDs would have treated him better in the long run instead of suiting up at 6pm onward and [***] everyone. I loved watchin them all earning fook all working 12hr days. I felt like the luckiest man alive after that observation day no joke. Beware.. I logged onto reed.co.uk and saw 70 applications for G-Force Marketing. If only they knew!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who has messaged on this forum! I have an interview with jms marketing tomorrow in liverpool and i will NOT be going! I got phone call today from a woman called Jo saying my CV had been successful and would I come for an interview tomorrow afternoon. So I said great what time and she said whatever time u want which i thought was odd. Surely a big company with so  many applicants would have certain time slots. She said she would email me with directions. My email has a very low junk filter but the email arrived in my junk mail (which should have said it all) It was only when I typed in google that it came up with SCAM. I am shocked that companies like this can freely operate and be so misleading.

why do they have a 'Talk Talk' logo, they reckon they are trying to raise money for the 'Talk Talk' charity when 'Talk Talk' isnt even a charity as i should know its a broadband and tv company just like sky and virgin. its got nothing to do with charity what so ever. my boyfriend used to work they for ONLY 3 days as its a scam and they actually taking the piss out of you such as working hours and IF and WHEN you even get paid. i wouldnt recommend it it's not even a genuine company its not even registered.

    Hi all

I attended an interview at Primus UK at 16 Newton Street, Manchester in January 2009.

My gut told me it was a scam and having read all of the comments here and done my own research, I have come to the conclusion that it is indeed a scam.

It is just door to door selling on a commission only basis, no matter how they try to dress it up.

My advice is to just walk away from any contact with this company, it's just not worth the time or effort.

Primus is not a scam, neither is cobra....but the manager named Mike is dodgy in old street, he told me to go home because i was telling him how to run his business.... what a liar!!!!!!!!! i didn't do that! why would I do that? all I did was ask him how can I improve and all he did was say to me... "that's not the point, i don't want to hear it, your being tooo fake, you need to learn how to be yourself" and it was ONLY after my first week! he said that to me, after 4 weeks I never went back, I was actually really upset by it, because I worked really hard, and all i got for him was "your fake" that just killed my self-esteem even more! I'm not lazy, I work hard, I did not tell him how to run his business, but all i did was ask how can i improve....all it got was "stop being a fake"... if he really thought i was being a fake maybe he should have come to the field with me to see if i was being fake or not, i have nothing against managers who observe me, cause that's what they are suppose to do, and i have nothing against door to door sales.

To 'doesn't matter' your whiny post just highlights how young you are, which is probably why you don't believe the company is a scam. Naivity is the only real excuse for being part of this complete joke of a company. Anybody with a bit of intelligence, sense or work experience would be able to tell this 'job' was fake a mile off. I can't believe I even wasted my time.

the comany is not a scam!!!!!!!... just because i found the manager in London dodgy that doesn't mean the whole company is a scam! primus uk is originally based in manchester not london, and the managers name in manchester is Richard, it would be too ignorant, cruel and out of order of me to accuse the who company of being a scam just because I didn't like the way i was treated in London by Mike

I've applied for soo meny jobs... I don't even know what half of them are, I've applied for Cateering, housing, Marketing, Admins, community, charity, cleaning, costumer services, hellll i don't care! as long as I get a job i doesn't matter to me... even if it says skills or no skills, if i had to work my butt of from it then i will, if i get ignored more then 4 or 5 times then i will quit just like i did with Primus UK, let mike say anything he wants, i don't care, do you guys really think a previous manager with bad manners will win over, after the amount of complaints they get, especially if your new manager sees webs like this? NO!. so STOP worrying and apply for any job even if it is Marketing, and stop being a bunch of Ignorant kids! not all door to door companies are scams, not all managers are bad, just because Mike was rude, it doesn't mean the company is a scam, mike doesn't own Primus Richard does, I'm not gonna bad mouth Richard or the whole company, just because of mikes unprofessional rude behaviour, and I'm not gonna bad mouth the other managers in 1 bath street, just because they work in the same office as mike.

By the way this Miller Patterson group you guys are talking about are not scams, they have more people in their group then Primus, and the manager is actually (both of them) very nice, they are not scams, if they were then why are people still there? just work hard that's it, if you are ignored by your actual manager then I don't know what to say to you, but all i know is that, Primus, B1 marketing, Aspire, and soo on are not scams.... you guys are just IGNORANT.

imagine if you had your own business and you hired someone to work for you, you told them to open a new office they started to blackmail, and scam all the workers that they hired, and you got the blame.. thats wrong....thats why as a manager you have to have a good initiatives on who you hire as a manager.
