SJ Associates - since you are clearly reading the comments of 'some' of your 'customers' please be prepared for what happens next. Your service is a scam and you are not being honest with the process you take people through. therefore you are aware that you will be facing a number of legal battles in order to keep yourself and your (partner) fellow director out of jail. I am actually going to enjoy the next part of contact and communication with your office.. and to other people who have mentioned Mathew Brown... how hilarious is he!! but probably all the 'company' could afford to hire.

Has anyone actually been taken to court,if so what was the outcome, this company is a disgrace and needs to be stopped .

i don't think these guys will even take you to court! they will just threaten it! coz if they do........ they are screwing themselves! everything they have written in the previous statement is contradicting the contract. contact the police and trading standards and they will leave you alone!!! the judge would, i'm sure very much like to have a chat with them anyway!

why are they even looking at this site? it seems that they are checking it on quite a regular basis as well. This translates to me that they are pooping their pants and can feel the claws of justice tightening around them and just want to know what is going on!

If there is nothing to hide then i don't see why this should be a problem seeing as how there is a large amount of confusion around the process your company seems to go through. It also seem that the list of people that would like to speak to someone other than this Mathew Brown character because he is not doing himself or your company any favours. I imagine that he will be hearing from the authorities on almost a daily basis for his threatening and abusive behaviour.

Sweet dreams directors because it seem you may well wake up in a nightmare when all this finally catches up with you and the list of authorities/ organisations/ television programmes and just plain decent and honest people that want to see you go down is getting longer and more determined by the day!

you can contact the valuations office yourself and will get a much bigger return and also you will get it a lot quicker. after talking to many people on this site, they will take your money and then withdraw their application anyway. so you aren't gonna get anywhere with them at all!

The best way to get your rates seriously reduced  in the first place is to try and get your rent reduced and then approach the valuations office.

yes they took me to court and i lost big time there contracts are water tight.

Well S J had a good female surveyor but she soon left after the ex vo joined the company. he withdrew my appeal where the female surveyor saw that i was paying more for my zone a than anyone else in my road. she was preparing to go as far as tribuneral with it he does not want to be bothered. as long AS HE GETS HIS WAGES HE HAS NO INCENTIVE TO GET US OUR REDUCTION.

IF I KNEW WHERE PAULA THE SURVEYOR WAS I WOULD ASK HER TO LOOK AFTER MY INTERESTS I WOULD HAVE EVEN CONSDERED PAYING HER 2K FOR THE PRIVILEDGE

these people have been harrising the company for a few weeks, not contacted trading standards, qouted Missrepresentation act, got a call back saying they would close our file!!!

This is what there paperwork says:
The representative attends, discusses our services and provides clients with forms to be completed for us to act as their agent in connection with the business rates (if they wish to instruct our services). Once our paperwork is signed, a copy of the contract is left with the client and originals are set directly into the office.

Once received, our Confirmation Department contacts the client to confirm the service we are to provide and ensure the details are correct. If there are any discrepancies or if the client wishes not to proceed, the file is cancelled with immediate effect and as no work has been conducted at this stage, no fees are payable for our services. If the client wishes to proceed, the appeal is lodged and a confirmation letter is sent out to confirm our service again in writing.
So if you dont confirm, they cannot go any further with it

Having the same treatment from this Brown character, I suspect that is not even his real name, has anyone been taken to court by these unscrupulous clowns??

Their contract is as watertight as Titanic. Which court was it?

I have signed the form from their initial visit, and have now been told that my appeal is going ahead. They are sending a surveyor (the same chap that did the initial visit) to conduct a full measure up etc of my premises within the next few days, so it's all been very quick.

Am I protected under the distance selling regs, as I was told I have 14 days to cancel after the initial site visit?

I am not at all comfortable with this, having now read every post on here.

I think you will find that the Distance Selling Regs. are seven days, not fourteen.  However, if you have not paid any money to this lot, cancel anyway.  This site alone would be a good reason if, which is unlikely, they try to take it further.  Good Luck

I looked up the cooling off period, and seen it was 7 days, not 14. Doh!

I have also just read some news today on the website of a Peterborough newspaper, some very worrying references to this company.
