I've been getting calls from this number for months, on and off. It got to the point where I was just ignoring the phone when I saw this number come up on caller id. Today, they rang again and immediately hung up when I answered. Tried calling back but the number was constantly busy. Thank God for the internet! Googled the number and found this page, so have just rung the 1800207407 number (which is Eircom's sales department, funnily enough) to get my number taken off their database. Should be done by the end of the day - eureka!!! Many thanks to the person who first posted the 1800 number - you're a 100% star.

Had series of missed calls from this number. Called eircom on the above number and they had no understanding of the issue and unable to access sales database only to say perhaps it was a sales call re broadband.
they put on file my annoyance to receive such calls and had no interest in switching to eircom broadband ...but time will tell if the missed calls stop !

Isn't the internet great-i'm always a little annoyed when i see a number like this and don't know who the hell is calling..they asked for the "bill payer" when they received an answer from my line...which is a company..they insisted they would call back later to speak to the bill payer..even after it was explained to them that the chances of catching me was slim..when offerred my mobile no. by my assitant..they hung up...and the calls have started. I'm going to ring that number now though..thanks guys!...really annoying to be hassled by eircom when you're paying for a service..i get frequent calls re website design etc, which i understand-they're trying to solicit business but eircom already has my business..irritating!

i receive calls from this number since 3 days as well,and i use 1800207407 to remove me from their list of marketing database.I can't beleive that since the first complain,they didn't resolve this issue.Now it's from 051301500 who call me.I hope they will go in hell these mother........

Got a call today from that number and when I answered they hung up. tried calling back and its engaged.

Firstly, I'm also very relieved to find this website and a record of this number! I got a call from these guys today as well, no hanging up in this case - the caller introduced himself as 'Gary from Eircom' and asked for the bill payer, adding that he was calling to see if we were on the right package. I did find it strange that there was a lot of background noise - as if he was on a busy street (and not a call centre where that kind of thing would be filtered out!)

When I explained that the bill payer wasn't here, and wouldn't be for some time, 'Gary' was actually quite okay about it. I emphasised that I was pretty sure the bill payer was happy with the package and he apologised for bothering me and we left it at that.

Mind you, if I get a call again I won't be as friendly. We're ex-directory too and no one except my family should have or call our phone number.

I've been getting similar phone calls as well. The first one was from 018920300 and second one is 018920400. These are the marketing numbers from eircom! I've rang them on 1800207407 and the lady said she has talken off my name on the marketing list!!!

Missed calls from this number, engaged tone when you try to ring it back, my number is also unlisted, don't know where they got it from! Googled it in case it was important?! Found this webpage, amazed to find others in the same situation!!!

Hi I started to see this number coming up on my land line, as I dont know it I wont answer it. I am wondering is this a way for eircom or someone pretending to be eircom, to make money because if you dial the number or any number I believe you are charged the moment you dial a number, even before the number you dial is answered. Check your itemized bills see if I am right. Hint take a note of numbers you dialled and did not answer and see if that or those numbers are billed could be as little as a few cents but it all adds up!
Also I did hear of a scam where a number you try phoning back answers but no one speaks its a way of making money for that number.

just had that number call me -  no answer when I picked up.

Had missed phone calls from this number, when answered hung up and tried to ring back but phone number engaged all the time, it rang this morning the 06/12/2010 at 9.30a.m. and our number is ex/directory surely there is some way of finding out who owns this number?

Received a phone call this morning from this number and didn't make it to the phone on time and they didn't leave a message.  I have been ringing this number from my mobile since this morning and it is constantly engaged, and my phone just automatically keep redialling...

Just got a call from those robbing, inefficient [***] at EIRCOM using  018920400 ... Please complain to ComReg.

Thank god I found this site, this bloody number has been calling every morning for the last week and waking the baby up. On the phone as I type getting us off their marketing list!!!!!!!
