Chancers trying to con details out of people, to get fiat money!! now on the blocked list. Merry xmas!

Received a call 1pm on Boxing Day and spoke to an Indian sounding man who said he was from U.K. Financial Services. He wanted to 'confirm' my Nat West debit card details so that he could send me a cheque for money I am owed. He knew my address so I told him to send the 'cheque' as he did not need my bank details.

Adrian Williams claiming to be from UK Financial Services.  Same man also called himself George Wilson on a previous call, from the same company. Claiming he has a cheque for illegal deductions from my bank.  Told him i'd never been charged by my bank.  Persistent even when I insisted my bank have always been really good.

George Wilson has also called me claiming to be from Microsoft on one previous occasion and from Windows on another.  On these calls he rang from an international number.

Just had same questions but hung up,but kept calling back so told the person was f.....g scam and started screaming down the phone.gave all false answers and person agreed correct.very  upsetting would really consider giving up landline because of these probs.

Saw the number and didn't answer, checked on here previously. Why aren't the phone companies/offcom sorting these parasites out?? What do we pay for??

Harry, same here. I am the same Chris that's on page one, I reported them to the fraud people back in November.
Why are they still in action? It's so obvious that this number is being used for illegal purposes.
Cut it off and see if they complain!

A woman cold called this afternoon, claiming to be from Microsoft Anti hacking her name was (Moira Anderson)
I requested that she called back in half an hour, to enable me to conduct some checks, the telephone number is 01924215367
needless to say the number is not recognised.
We have all up to date security on our computers and canno0t see how anyone could hack into the systems.
I am 100% certain this is a scam Please beware.

The names these scammers use really amuses me.  You got a Scottish singer, I once got James Anderson in the middle of a Test Match, so asked how he found the time!  Have also had Gary Cooper and John Wayne!.  When I told one of them that my name was Mahendra Singh Doni, she hung up!  The scam is that they try to get remote access to the computer to fix non existent faults and if they are successful, they will install spyware/malware to steal personal information like bank details and passwords.  Needless to say, everything they tell you is a lie.

I have said this several times before, but will repeat it.  The reason our telephone companies can do nothing about these calls is that they come from overseas, usually India, and they use fake UK numbers via Skype or VOIP.

I agree with Nan. I have gotten calls from celebrities as well. Mine were Burt Ward, Adam West, (both from the old tv show Batman) Andy Griffith (an actor) and Vince Neil (a rock singer) gee they must believe that they are superheroes musicians and actors....NOT

Call centre staffer told me my bank was going to refund all my bank charges.
I jokingly said "That's awesome. Thanks."
Staffer got annoyed and said "Well f**k off then!" and hung up.

Just had a call from this number - as per all the other calls told me were working under a UK court order and had money to give me back from my bank.  Wanted my long card number - I said no they told me some of the first 8 digits but I said I am not keen to give any more info. Indian sounding chap - couldn't really understand a word he said to be honest - call went on for about 1/2 hour and eventually he said something that definately had f**** in it and then hung up - scammer

Had a call today, asian sounding lady asking about my windows server on my computer, told her there was no computer in the house to which she then hung up

Asian male called to tell my wife she had bank charges owing to her. After a couple of questions from her it was clearly a scam call, she hung up.

SCAM SCAM SCAM DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY DETAILS, NO MATTER WHAT INFORMATION THEY HAVE ALREADY.

Pakistani sounding chap rang and said he was from Windows and they had spotted several problems with my computer. etc etc
I have had many of these before but this is the first time their telephone number has appeared. I wasted as much time of his as possible and after ringing me bavck 5 times in the space of 5 mins after I had 'accidently' put the receiver down he gave up

I was called today in the afternoon by "01924 215367", as per other posters it was an Indian-sounding chap who knew my name and address -- itself a little worrying -- and who deliberately spoke quickly when I asked him to confirm who he was.  But it was "UK Finance" or similar, and he had recovered some bank charges which I'd paid which had never even been shown on my account.  Apparently!  He said he had a cheque for me and could I confirm my address was <my correct address> but instead of agreeing I asked again who he was and he hung up.

Received a call today some Asian chap saying he had a cheque to be refunded to me when he asked for my bank name and address I said that I would NOT be giving him any further information He hung up
Why can't the authorities do something about these calls

Had a call from this number saying it was from Financial company regarding charges my bank owed me.  They were trying to get details of my bank, I asked who they were and who they worked for, when I asked more questions all they said was I was owed money, they gave up and hung up the phone.  This company is a con.  The telephone number is from a Wakefield exchange.  Do not answer any of their questions, just ask them questions, they soon get fed up.
