I've just had a call from this number, don't normally answer numbers don't know but this is a local number to me so answered got a very robotic bad english voice saying they had money for me gave me my name and address which can get from anywhere but I soon put the phone down as it was too dodgy

Received call from this number. Man with Indian sounding accent said there had been an error at my bank ( didn't say which bank) and they were going to send me  a cheque, I was then asked to confirm my address which he read out the first line. I said no that wasn't me and hung up. I was worried that he had some of my details and felt he would have tried to get me to give him more information.

My TRUECALL device received a call from 01924215367 today. Its operating system would have asked who is calling before asking me whether I wished to accept the call. The caller did not respond and my phone did not ring. I installed this device because I have been a victim of miss-selling and fraud crime. The product is endorsed by BT. My experience is that if you have this kind of deterrent (1) scam callers will not pursue their call as they know that you will not deal with them, (2) you will not receive these nuisance calls. There are other screening/call blocking devices that can be installed. Finally, from my research, telephone numbers can be purchased and made to appear to be of UK origin, but are in fact coming in from overseas. Also, noisy office sounds can be a tape recording in the background. I have been informed that telephone companies cannot stop incoming international calls.

Called claiming to be from the finance department asked for my number be removed from DB said he could not asked to speak to a manager after sailing noises same guy came back on claiming to be a manager asked where they got my number from he said my brother Jon when I questioned this he hung up trypied redial number not recognised SCAM

My experience was similar to those described in these other posts. The caller at first claimed to be from a government department and had an awful lot of information about me, including the first few digits of both my credit and debit card. At first, I did give some of the information I was asked for and immediately regretted it. When I refused to give over extra information, I was put onto another caller who was very abusive. I said I didn't wish to continue the transaction and put the phone on him. I contacted my bank and cancelled my cards, just to be on the safe side. It is worrying that they have so info on me. The second caller phoned me back later that day and again was abusive! He then put the phone down on me when I informed him that I had cancelled my cards. I am going to see if BT can block this number. I also intend to report them.
