scam - muppets

Just got a call from this number did not believe a word this man said and put the phone down. They won't to send me a check just needed some details???

This caller is being a persistent pest as well as causing undue hassle, when answering the call nobody speaks, they just hang up. It has happened over a period of in excess of a week, including 2 calls yesterday and 2 more this morning. It is becoming more than a nuisance caller.

called my home number about eight times this week. i had already checked it out on here couple of days
ago. luckily was at home this afternoon so picked up. he told me in pigeon english about refunding bank
charges to me and could i provide more details.
i told him i loved paying bank charges and currently had ladies underwear on. he then hung up. how rude!

A man at this number rang me . was abusive when I would not co operate and swore. I left the phone on the side and went back to it later to hang up. My phone line won't work now! Does anyone know what they might have done to my line? It just says 'check cord line' on the phone display. Also this number is not known when you try to phone it.

Phone rang at 09.00 this morning. Looked at the number in the display and said "Hello" suspiciously. CLUNK.... gone! How rude, I thought, assuming it was a wrong number. Ho hum. Think I'll have to resume answering suspect calls with "Wrong number!"

Had a phone call from 01924215367 which I believe is the area code for Wakefield but when I rang that number it said it was not recognised and that was it, the person ringing was a lady of Asian culture.  Along with the other 8-10 silent calls a day that is all I need and no one seems to be bale to sort it out even though I am on the phone preference service.

Got a call from that number at 12.13pm today 08/02/14 from someone who according to the 01924 number lives in or around Wakefield but when I rung that number it told me the number was not recognised.  So will they ring again????????????

Annoying caller, always cut off when I answer, I'm disabled. Wish these callers could be punished

Just rang and hung up when I answered.  Have now barred them on my phone.

100% scam.
My mother rang me this morning about it, she stopped short of giving her bank details out and told them she wasn't doing any of that, they then hung up.
As she has Truecall, she has now blocked the number, Action Fraud are aware of this scam.

Called today put phone down when I said you are just a scam aren't you?

Called today at 10.02am but didn't get to the phone in time - no message left.
I usually play along with this type of call just for a laugh or if I haven't got time I tell then to go forth and multiply!!!

These people tried to hoodwink mother with the same scam this morning.  Fortunately she was not gullible enough to fall for it!

The Financial Conduct Authority says...You can report a scam to them by contacting their Consumer Helpline on 0800 111 6768.  They also say you should also report suspected fraud and internet crime to the police through Action Fraud, which you can contact on 0300 123 2040.

Asian sounding male phoned asking for my details so he could arrange a cheque to be paid to me for overpaying bank charges.
I told him to wait and then put the phone by my very loud radio and left it.
Checked back 10 minutes later and caller gone.

Not sure that this is the same scam per se since that report was dated Feb 2011 and this particular round of calls seems to have started some time late last year.  But thank you for mentioning Truecall, I hadn't heard of it but it looks like a good idea that I shall now investigate for mother's benefit.
