this caller has phoned twice now gave me phon num.o1274 900834 both times but i know this is my town area phon code and no phon number starts 900 i told him where to go

The 01274 number seems to belong to a group of Bradford area numbers allocated to a telecoms company Magrathea.

Several silent calls received over past week. Worrying how they manage to generate a UK number even though calling from abroad!!

just also had a call from 019476632176 asking me if i was having problems with my computer he says when i asked that they were a global company an dif i had comp probs in the future to call them .of course i didnt i hung up....

Got call saying that they are calling me regarding support to my windows computer.

I have been called twice on this number by an indian guy - same story about it being a problem with Windows and I might have accidentally downloaded some dodgy files so I needed to switch my computer on now so they could identify the files.  I said I'd get someone I knew in to fix any problems if any occurred. Sounds very much like a scam.  Why are they so desperate to 'help'???

Hi everybody, a message to you all. DON'T ever ring any of these numbers back!!! I know, I was stung by one a long time ago now. Some of these and similar numbers charge a very high rate if you ring their number back? even if no one answers, just ignore it. This is fraud but no one seems to want to know about it? so !!BEWARE!!!

Cold called from this number (I'm on the TPS by the way). Sounded like it might be a call centre located in India. They wanted me to tell them stuff about my Windows computer (which I don't have) because they'd "heard that it may be running slow" or something.

Forgot to say: he said he was from Support On Click.

At 18.20 tonight 8th Jan 2010 I had an indian guy call telling me he was the maintenace guy for my computer & i had a sercurity issuse on windows and that i needed to turn it on immediatly so he could sort it out, he wanted to know the type of computer i had i told him it was none of his buisness as i knew he was not my maintenace guy he said i needed to go to my computer can i go right now i said no i was eating my dinner so he hung up.

I only got my own internet this time last year but received a simuilar call last year, but i didnt know that it was a hoax call so i followed his instruction i cant remember now what he told me to do but i know it invovled going into properties and some other applications where there was alot of boxes and some of them were red at this point he was saying oh my god this is terrible you are in real trouble as i didnt think this was a proffessional manner to speak to a customer i hung up and all my friends advised me this was a con of somesort hope this information helps someone else.where are they getting our numbers from

I have received two missed calls from this number. Have read all above comments and it definitely sounds like a scam! Anything I can do to stop this?

I have received a call this morning from the above number and straight away was very suspicious so told him I didn't believe what he was saying and that there was so many scams about, he is probably going to ring me later - I hope not but he won't get anywhere.  I put the phone number in Google and found this site, which has confirmed my suspicions.  I think he said he was calling from Microsoft.  The call came on with Music at first then the caller came on.

A man with an Indian accent phoned and said I had a problem with my computer. He wanted me to go to "start" then "run" and type in what he dictated. I asked him to tell me first what he wanted me to type in and he would not. I was suspicous and said I would not input anything onto my computer without knowing moe detail and said I was ending the call.When I called the telephone number back, the message said this service is no longer available.

Received today, lunchtime  Couldnt get to phone in time but they left no message and 1471 gave me this number.  Not in service any more

Had a call from this number, identifing themselfs as "support on click".  Tried to get me to turn on computer and go through some checks with him.  As was online anyway stalled him and googled the company - scam was written all over the results.  Then wasted his time for 5min while i "waited for computer to boot up"  When I asked where they got my number from and gave him ultimatum of 4min to selll me what ever he was trying to sell, he hung up

got call today  at 17:40 they hang up when answered

got call from 019476632176 indian guy telling me my computer got probs,got me to go start/control panel/admin tools/event viewer asked me how many errors i told him 5 he kept saying oh my god several times, said they can fix it if i go to their site (which the idiot told me) did then they want your card details and 200 quid. its a scam, tell im to bog off your money is hard to comeby dont give it away.

I have just got a call from this same number. I had one at my old house on the old number where the guy started to tell me about the problems with my computer but given I've worked in IT for 20 years and am a self confessed geek, I out-techied him. (They couldn't tell me which manufacturer's computer I was using from the four I offered them and didn't even know about Windows versions)

The refused to admit they were part of a scam but when I told them tha tthey were attempting to break UK law and to stop calling, the guy got really nasty and said he would post my number all over the internet to make sure I got calls from these types of companies every 5 minutes of my life.

Disreputable? I think you could safely say they were.
