- steveCaller said they understood we had a problem with our computer. Said we didn't have one. They then asked if we had a lap top, we said no, and they hung up. Like everyone else, couldn't ring back as number not in service
- TrevorWe have had several calls from this outfit. The last one was on 30 March. We are registered with TPS and, like a lot of message writers above, our ISP is TALKTALK. Since joining TALKTALK several years ago we have had various strange calls from India. Often TALKTALK is mentioned by name. TALKTALK has one of its call centres in India, and I suspect that one of their staff is providing names and numbers to this scam outfit.
- BKJ| 1 replyJust had a call from 019476632176. Usual story as reported by other people. i.e. indian guy saying he was calling about my computer. He hung up on me when I started to question him. I did call the number and got message " this number is not currently taking any calls". From what others have said about them charging you for calling this number I'm concerned that I'm in for a hefty bill. Has anyone out there actually been charged by their provider for calling this number and if so did you manage to get the charge dropped?
- Nikkinakinoo replies to BKJJust called me twice today now. I'm sure its a money making scam, but I just got dead air twice.

- nathanbI got a call from 0019476632176 today in Ireland, so the number would be from the US. The Indian woman claimed that they had a list of people with Windows 7. I asked where she had gotten the number and she claimed it would have been to given by my ISP or my PC vendor. My ISP would not know I was using windows 7 and my PC verndor dell does not offer me software suport. Both would in trouble if they provided my details to outside companies.

- Paul, Dublin replies to too clever for this scam!!| 1 replyI'm in Ireland and got a call from this number today. It was an Indian woman I'd say. I was asked was my computer on and I said yes. She wanted me to go on the computer and she'd tell me how to test for some problems to do with downloaded software from various dodgy websites or something like that. I cut off shortly afterwards after asking who she was. Anyone know how the scam works? Am I safe? Presume I am but am a bit paranoid! My computer wifi was on at the time but I didn't carry out the "tests" as she wanted me to. Can they scan the wireless system over the phone??
Where did these people get my name and phone number? I'm with Vodafone. - Robbie_w1 replies to Paul, DublinIts funny! 1st time same story, they told me there is a problem with my broadband and if i didn't let them go look through my computer it would crash and have to buy a new one, i told them i would not because my lap top is insured and i would get a replacemet for free!! They hungup!! Since that they have rang so many times i have lost count, seriously how many times can u tell someone to f-off before they get the message.
- Paul, Dublin, IrelandI keep getting these calls as well. Finally rang Eircom, my phone company, and was told the number has been traced to Sri-Lanka. It's a total phishing scam, and as often as they bar the number these guys switch to a new one. You are dialled by an auto dialler, and they advise that you don't answer, and NEVER call back, and eventually your number will be logged on the crooks system as inactive/not worth calling.
- maxThey keep on calling with same story as everyone else, wanting to access computer, we also get 006111111112 calling and hanging up. Is there any way of preventing these calls?
- Caller: Computer Issues
- Dub-IRLThey have rang my home phone every day for almost a week now. I just let the call go through to my answering machine which has a blank greeting. Yes, there is a strange noise when the call gets through just before the caller starts to say "hello?". I would also like to point out that they knew my name even though my number is ex-directory. I am on UPC.
Good work on everybody posting here. Thanks...I'll never take this call. And if anybody does pick up, respond with questions only. But I suggest you don't pick up because you number then gets listed as and active number.
Cheers - Paul, Dublin019476632176 rang me 2 weeks ago (Indian sounding female). 009476632176 rang me this morning (Indian sounding male). Same story about problems with my computer. Told last caller I had no computer. He hung up immediately. I reckon that's the best approach in dealing with these people.
