Don't fall for it don't give them any personal details or bank & card details.
With regards to medication why would you trust a cold call up and over your local GP, whilst I understand people that suffer with different diseases its important to not lose sight of reality. Avoid these people not only for the good of your wealth but more importantly your health. Visit your GP instead and discuss this drug with them. - Kevin Banks| 4 repliesThis firm conned my elderly father into purchasing 20 packs of a food supplement derived from pomigranate. I have looked on their website and it gives no information what these are supposed to be for, other than saving you the time and effort of peeling the fruit. For this privilage they charged him £299.
Be warned they appear to be targetting the elderly and vunerable.
It is my belief that they have contacted him again posing as a survey from the NHS to find out what medications he currently takes. I am currently keeping an eye on his bank account as they have his banking details.- Caller: Elbon Wellbeing Ltd

- Sally replies to Kevin BanksIt came to my attention that an elderly lady I have known for years an is suffering with dementia has been sent Pomegran tablets each month.
The box was huge, and on opening, the statement was for £885.00. This was just one months worth. on calling the company and saying what they were doing to this old lady was wrong and illegal, the man laughed at me saying he knew it was wrong but that they could get round the legalities...Even boasting that the previous month was for £999.99. These have been taken from her bank account.
I dont know how long this has being giong on, other than a cleaner from age concern contacted the same company over a year ago to stop them sending these pills. though she had no idea how much they were charging her.
I have been in contact with trading standards and also let adult care services know. but this needs to stop, these people are scum and targeting the most vunerable. - shirley fitzpatrick replies to MissyFor people who have purchased items from the company elbon wellbeing.......

Elbon Wellbeing
A patient registered at a Nottingham practice was contacted by a company called Elbon Wellbeing about health supplements. The patient said they seemed to know quite a lot about his medical history so he thought the practice must have given him the details.
They managed to sell him a two year supply of pomegranate tablets costing approximately £300 which they said would cure him. The practice reported the company to Action Fraud on the patient's behalf.

"Wellness Survey" Phone Calls Are NOT Associated with Your GP’s Surgery
Kent Trading Standards have had reports of Kent residents being contacted by telephone with the caller stating they are doing a wellness survey or similar...
All Areas
The caller gives the impression they are associated with their local GP’s surgery and asks for identification. Consumers are encouraged to talk about any illnesses they are suffering and then are recommended to take certain products such as pomegranate extract or rosehip.
Payment is taken by debit or credit card over the telephone.
In several cases the consumer has agreed to try the product for one or two months but when the product is delivered they find they have been sent 6 months supply, and 6 months payment has been taken at the time of the initial call. When they tried to cancel the order, they have been contacted later by the salesman who became aggressive.
Trading Standards are investigating, but advise consumers to be wary of anyone cold calling and never to give personal details over the phone. If you have any concerns at all concerning your health please seek medical advice from your doctor.
To report any concerns you have or for further advice on your consumer rights please call Trading Standards via Consumer Direct on 0808 156 2256. Warning of a scam
We have been informed that there is a scam going around whereby a company is telephoning patients, listing medication and advising the person that they would benefit from a course of Pomegranate tablets and then asking for the persons credit card details. This persons account was debited £179.50. We were notified about this by a practice in Herne Bay as far as we are aware this has not happened in the Medway area, however please be on your guard.

This is a Kent Community Message.
I have forwarded this warning from NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent as the operators of this scam may well spread their net wider.
Patients are urged to be aware of bogus callers
HEALTH leaders are urging the public to be vigilant about bogus callers who claim to be reviewing their medication.
More than five patients across eastern and coastal Kent have been telephoned by someone pretending to be calling from a local GP surgery.
The caller gives the impression they are from an official NHS source and asks about the patient's medication.
In some cases they have then claimed the patient would benefit from Pomegranate tablets and asked for credit card details.
One woman in her 80s thought she was talking to a GP surgery and gave her details and later found £179.50 deducted from her account.
When her son tried to trace the call back it came from a company based in India.
NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent's Assistant Director of Medicines Management Alison Issott said: "No NHS health professional would ever ask for a patient's credit card details over the phone.
"We would urge anyone who is suspicious of the calls not to give out personal details and to contact police."

Bogus NHS Credit Cards Calls: Just Hang Up
April 30, 2010 1:57 PM
Kent Trading Standards have received reports of bogus callers telephoning consumers pretending to be from a local GP surgery.
The caller gives the impression they are from the NHS and asks what medication the consumer is taking. In one incident the caller persuaded the consumer they would benefit from taking Pomegranate tablets, they took credit card details and debited £179.50 from the account.
A victim's son traced the call back to a company based in India. No NHS health professional would ever ask for a patient's credit card details over the phone.
Kent Trading Standards are warning consumers to be very wary of anyone cold calling and requesting credit or debit card details. If you are in any doubt at all end the call. In your home, on your phone, you are in control - hang up.
Please contact Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 or go to www.consumerdirect.gov.uk if you need further advice on your consumer rights, or you want to report any businesses or incidents you have concerns about. - Insolvency Service Data replies to Kevin Bankshttp://insolvency.presscentre.com/Press-Relea ... nies-65662.aspx
Twenty-seven companies involved in the mis-selling of health supplements have been wound up in the High Court following an investigation by Company Investigations of the Insolvency Service.
The investigation found that all of the companies (see list below) had their registered offices in the County Durham area but traded internationally, mainly from locations in Barcelona and Malta by placing "Free Trial Offers" for health supplements on numerous websites.
Customers responding to a "Free Trial Offer" supplied their payment card details believing that only a small charge to cover postage and packaging (typically £3.95) was required. However, if the customer failed to cancel the “Free Trial Offer” within the cancellation period (usually 15 days) they were deemed to have agreed to an ongoing supply of the product from the companies, at a cost of around £70 to £80 each month.
Commenting on the case, Stephen Speed, Chief Executive of The Insolvency Service said;
"The Insolvency Service is determined to come down hard on companies who seek to rip off the public by mis-selling products. I urge all consumers to be vigilant when it comes to ‘free trial offers’, and remember if it looks to good to be true, it often is."
Analysis of the available records for just seven of the companies found that they had turnover in excess of $19 million in the period August 2009 to March 2010 which was processed through merchant accounts based in Germany.
The products offered by the companies included Acai Berry Detox, Acai Power, Effective Acai, Acai Detox, Absolute Acai, Colon Cleanse Fresh, Colon Purify, Life Cleanse, Resveratrol, Resvmax, Miraculous Teeth Whitening, PureClean Teeth, Dermasensation and Dermainfuse.
The investigation found that there was a serious lack of transparency as to who controlled the companies with the named directors being otherwise unconnected individuals residing in the Consett area of County Durham. Those spoken to by the investigators said they knew nothing about the affairs of the company of which they were the only director and said their only task was to forward any post received for the companies to a local formation agent, Brinken Merchant Incorporations Limited. Each had been approached to act as a director by Brinken who paid them around £150 a year.
However, the Court heard that 25 of the companies were found to be under the common control of Local Billing Solutions Limited ("Local Billing"), a company registered in Malta. Local Billing maintained throughout the inquiry that it acted only as a payment processor and that the beneficial interest in the companies belonged to Canonizado International, a company said to be registered in Panama, of which the investigators could find no trace. On the documents available, the investigation established that the beneficiaries of the companies’ trading were most likely to be Local Billing and its principal Clayton Douglass.
Grounds for winding up the companies included,
· The websites used by the companies misled customers into believing that the trial offer was risk free and limited in nature,
· The terms and conditions of the offer were designed to confuse the customer and were not provided in any durable medium,
· The length of the trial offer was not made clear. Customers were provided with a 30-day supply of the product, but had, typically, only 12 days from receipt of the product in which to cancel any future supply,
· The companies abused the privilege of trading through a limited company by effectively continuing the same method of operating as that used by Trading Planet Limited, Viv3lab Limited and Vivera Limited.
Those three companies having previously been wound up by the Court in the public interest.
The winding up orders were all made on 26 August 2010.
Winding up petitions were presented on 21 June 2010 against:-
LB Belvedere Limited, LB Cygnus Media Limited, LB Deluxepass Limited, LB Eridanus Entertainment Limited, LB Evil Angel Limited, LB Friendfinder Limited, LB Global Web Solutions Limited, LB Internet Media Productions Limited, LB Ilogic Solutions Limited
Winding up petitions were presented on 22 June 2010 against:-
LB LFP Internet Limited, LB Lyra Entertainment Limited, LB Nomad Media Limited, LB Pegasus Media Limited, LB Price Communications Limited, LB RSC Limited, LB Southint Prop Limited, LB Watt Media Limited
Winding up petitions against the following companies were presented on 23 June 2010 and on 25 June 2010 the Official Receiver was appointed as Provisional Liquidator of the companies:-
LB Carsed Marketing Limited, LB Nakedsword Limited, LB Cassiopeia Media Limited, LB Cybernet Entertainment Limited, LB RHS Limited, LB Pride Studios Limited, Intercontinental Consignment Logistics Limited and Gillmap Limited Petitions to wind up Fyso-UK Limited and H5-UK Limited were presented on
13 July 2010.

I check her bank account online for her so picked this payment up very quickly (before she received the tablets) Thinking this was a mistake tried to phone the company no answer, sent the items back registered post and did a track and trace to make sure package delivered. I then googled Elbon Wellbeing and came across this site so phoned ActionFraud and Trading Standards and her bank to get the card cancelled incase they tried to take more money. Well low and behold I checked her account today and £297 has been credit to her account from Elbon Wellbeing. I really thought she had lost this money. The timescale involved :-

- Dorothy replies to Agitated SamsonI was caught out yesterday . It was difficult to hear the woman and I thought it was a company that i do have natural health products from na I have known the owner of that company for 10 years When she said his name I assumed it was the company I deal with. I ordered some Rozex which I have had from my company before . But after there were other things that made me think and I i looked up the address that she was supposedly ringing from and it was an advertising company, This morniong I rang my bank and cancelled my card and spoke to the fraud squad and they said that my account had a pending debit for £17 so i am hoping that it will be no more. The bank assured me that they can`t take any more from my account and are sending me a new card . I will be going to my Bank tomorrow and hopefully it will be sorted and I should be able to get my money back.
- Angry SandyI am so angry about this company. They cold called my Dad today and made out as if they knew him. They then went on to recommend various supplements for his, and my mums, health. Both my parents have complicated health issues, and they made my Dad believe that they had the cure. Fortunately my Dad does not possess any credit cards and he told them to contact me, his daughter. Once this company had called me, I told them my parents were not interested, then they had the cheek to acuse me of not caring for my parent. I was livid. Then they had the cheek to phone my Dad back again and harass him. I am reporting these people to Watchdog, Trading Standards, and whoever else will listen. Please warn all the elderley and vulnerable you know.

Cold calls for health supplements, 50 years of Beeching and fare dodging
Duration: 55 minutes
First broadcast: Monday 25 March 2013
Consumer affairs with Julian Worricker. Today: the company that sends health supplements to the elderly, charging hundreds of pounds, whether they want them or not. Fifty years of Beeching's cuts to the railways - we'll be hearing what the impact of those cuts was and how many of the lines that were closed are reopening, and the protestors who advocate fare dodging on public transport.
LISTEN NOW :-) Ajit Patel's listening - CinderellaThe same company Elbon Wellbeing is now using another phone no. 02030023879 and an address in Birmingham: 289 Leach Green Lane Rednall Birmingham. I cancelled my credit card and reported these fraudsters to Action on Fraud. tel 0300 123 2040. I began to smell a rat when they began to pressure me to buy more than a month's supply of rosehip pills! You feel an idiot if you are scammed, they should be stopped!
