just moved into a new house, got a phone line 2 weeks ago and have had  a dozen calls from this number, sometimes it comes up as Number Withheld, sometimes it is traceable. The script has been either about doing an energy survey or about a problem with Windows. Always an Indian accent which is barely comprehensible. They make up a fictitious name and address (they use the STD code for your area and pick a false address in your town, prompting you to correct them with the correct info). Obviously scammers. They want to lead you to giving them your bank details or access to your computer.

Best advice is a combination of any of the above posts;...ignore; say you are the police anti-fraud number and their call has been routed through to you, blow a whistle, play them along (if you can handle the eventual abuse they dish out when they realise you have wasted their time)..but do NOT attempt to correct them by providing your true name, address or any other detail about yourself.

...and can you believe it, have just had another call from them whilst writing this!!

Had 2 silent calls from this number this morning, and a call every day for the past four days.pleased to say I've got a phone on which I can block specific nos, withheld nos, international calls, etc. Why is TPS so ineffective?

Had a call from this number 02031291891 at 0900 hrs 10/3/14 male caller politely telling me that he was ringing on behalf of Microsoft who have identified a virus has infected my computer and it was showing up on their systems. He just rabbited on and on and I informed him that he was mistaken there as was no virus on my computer and not to ring me again. Clearly this is part of the scam that is currently going on where the caller tries to access your computer.

Just had a call from this number the ASIAN man said he was from BT and that my Line was going to be terminated today. I also get many calls from Microsoft Tech. Dept. again all Asian people. It doesn't matter how rude you are to them they still keep calling. I am registered TPS which seems to be a total waste of time. Is this blog any better are the comments noted and does anyone do anything about the nuisance calls or is it just a place to let off steam. I feel very sorry for the elderly who perhaps are not up to speed with the evil con men who are around today

Just had a silent call from 02031291891.

I called back to see who it was but nobody there.

I believe 0203 is in the London area but other people have reported this number as emanating from China so could be a scam.

Caller with a heavy accent said that he was calling to verify details of a car accident I'd had.  My last "accident" was 3 years ago, when someone hit my car while it was parked at the side of the road overnight.  This cost my insurance company quite a bit, as the other party was never identified.  I asked the caller why he needed to verify the details, and he repeated the same thing.  I asked again, telling him that I was having difficulty understanding him (this was true - his accent was pretty incomprehensible), and he said much the same again.  I said that I couldn't understand him, and asked again why he was asking about an accident.  He hung up.  I suspect some sort of scam.  Perhaps a whiplash claim - but after three years??

Just had a call from this number at my place of work. They claimed to want to reduce my 'debts', I do not have any debts and enquired where they got the number from, with them stating Credit consumer company - I told them in no uncertain terms that they were calling a solicitors office and for the number to removed immediately from their system, to which he got quick annoyed and responded that I was being recorded, so told them to record this and put them on hold to our lovely jingle of what type of law can we assist you in - they hung up.

Had a call from Teresa Walker, very Asian sounding. Told me tht they have claimed £3,800 pounds in PPI payments on a loan I had out. Never had a loan apart from mortgage. She told me to call their solicitor, Mr Shaun Hopkins on 01274 792188, to arrange when a solicitor could visit me to hand over the cheque. A fantastic service, I think you will agree, except that when I play along with these "survey questionnaire" calls, I give a slightly wrong name, so there is no way they could have claimed anything on my behalf. They have called me back again to see why I haven't called Mr Hopkins yet, as they are very keen to give me the money!!
