Missed a call from number on mobile, called back to an automated message saying something about an echo test? Cut it off without listening further.

Several silent calls and texts over the past couple of days - re. PPI that I'm "owed".

This number just called me today and said it was from first call who were calling me about a refund for PPI. THey called last week and i informed them then my mobile is TPS registered and they had committed an offence in calling and to remove my number, then guess what they called again today. Informed them again and that if they persisted in calling me i would report them to CAB, they apologised and hung up.

They call for about ten seconds, I've never answered

left a message on my home phone at 8.10am asking me to ring back urgently. also keeps ringing my mobile and not leaving a message.

My mother received a call from this number at 11.31 this morning (16th September 2011). The woman who spoke in an Indian accent was extremely rude. My mother is not in good health and is easily upset and put the phone down on the woman when she realised it was an unsolicited call about claiming back Payment Protection Insurance. The woman phoned back repeatedly (a total of about five times) telling my mother she was a very rude woman for putting the phone down on her especially when she didn't know what the call was about.
My mother was extremely rattled by the whole experience. These unsolicited callers are absolute scum. They must know that elderly and vulnerable people are likely to be at home during the day and they seem to target them deliberately. They are the lowest of the low and deserve every curse one could place on them.

called today.reference refund of ppi's.told them never had a loan or mortgage.woman voice replied are you sure, ok no problems.call timed at 11.27 today.

Have had 3 calls so far insisting that I had PPI. Indian Lady said she was called Amy Logan from a company called First call working on behalf of the banks. I told her we never had it and to not ring me as my Mum had just died and she then asked me what was the cause of death!!
Rang again a second time - again I asked her not to call as I hadn't had PPI and was in the process of arranging funerals. Rang again 14/9 15.32 - told her to stop harassing me and that I had no PPI she wasn't representing the banks and that I was registered with TPS.

This number has called me several times over the last week and I have usually been out but was in last night but still did not answer as did not know the number and due to having caller display knew it had called before.

This number calls and does not answer on pickup. Ignore it!

Just been onto Virgin (our service provider) about this number.  Very helpful and said, as previously mentioned, that it was a nuisance call.  They now have a note about it and I (very immaturely) rang the number back and screamed loudly down the phone.  It made me feel better.  We have TPS but obviously they ignore it.

Easier on the voice than screaming (I'm a singer, gotta take care of this larynx):
1. I recorded a custom ringtone of pure silence (can do this directly on my phone, so no cables no downloads).
2. added the unidentified phone #s to my contact list, used the names Junk01, Junk02 etc.
3. assigned the silent "ringtone" to all the unidentified numbers.
4. feel smug and superior to the pesky jerks.
Problem solved. In truth I don't even know which unidentified numbers are scams and which are just marketing calls, since I NEVER call back if the number isn't already on my contact list.

when I claimed to be a visitor and asked them to leave a message for me to pass on - they hung up

Sounded like a bar with music in the background, nothing to indicate a sales call

This is a scam number

they said that our name had been flaged up as we had had a loan. mortgage or high credit card dept as we have no dept at all I was not impressed with this type of call

Had a missed call on my mobile. Tried to call back and just got canned music.

"Is that Mr...." who wants him, "oh this is in relation to a possible refund"  "This is a 419, go away, I'm on the telephone preference list" & surprise, surprise the Indian sounding chap did hang up. I wonder why ?
