I too have been called by these annoying PPI claims people, listing a london phone number. NOTE They are calling from Durban in South Africa and are not UK based or registered with Ministry of Justice MOJ so they are acting illegally in the UK.

Note there is a UK based company with the same name that ironically sells PPI, but appears not to be connected to the Durban one.

Got a call from Sarah yesterday. Calling about mis-sold PPI [Payment Protection Insurance].

They were phoning me on my mobile that has stopped but now it has started on my land line.

I now answer it with "Hello Caerphilly nuisance phonecall hot line"   Line goes dead very quickly!!

I do the same with all international Calls.

Number now in my 'phones contact list,  I alocate a different ring tone to these so I know it is a Nuisance call without having even to look at the phone!!

A compensation claims organisation. They get a hefty commission by referring you to solicitors. Society can do without these people. They cost us all in increased insurance premiums.

Hi friends any body got any questions for me? I work at this company...The First Call Group. Its quite shocking to see the comments posted about our south african accent. I'm sure that the calls are annoying but the reason you keep getting the calls is cause you keep hanging up. Now the reason we call is to actually help potentially mis-sold consumers to claim there moneys back from the mis-selling of ppi. And at the end of the call there is a call disposition, and if you don't wanna get call just say I'm bankrupt and I won't qualify so your number will actually go into the "Do Not Quality" list that does not get called ever again. But because You'll always just hang up it goes into a "Disconnected" list that gets recycled and called back some other time. My Name is Jerryco If I call you up say hi to me. Cheers

I've been reading all these messages and its actually funny but so depressing cause I'm just an employee I didn't realize how these  calls were actually affecting people this way. I wish I could make them stop but like I said I'm just an employee. I'm actually a chef by profession trying out a new field , and I was enjoying it before reading this. I'm going back to hospitality didn't even realize what a pest I was turning into

got a call from above number who said I can claim back PPI. Someone going to call back on Tuesday 17th.I asked for company name and phone number they said First Call Group on 02070603887

These people are a damned nuisance - I believe they are yet another PPI Scam outfit - some think based in RSA - whatever - this number is deliberately being misdirected thus unanswerable !

Have u been scamed? NO how do I know this ? Is because I work at The First Call Group. has phoned me x4 times already today and previous calls in the past even though i have answered in the past asking to be removed from their database and not to call me again!

Good evening mary...just to assure u this call was not a scam. I'm Jerryco From the first call Group and we are a financial claims company. People have a lot to say here but all these comments are just assumptions. Take it from me If ppi was attached on any of your finances and you were not aware of this one of our Claims advisers will check it up and call you back. I am an employee at The First Call Group. And we do not by any means scam people. That's why our agent didn't ask u for any banking number or sort code nothing of that sort.

I keep getting silent calls from this number abouta once a week

If you are dealing with claims management in the UK then by law you need to be registered with the Ministry of Justice here, and if you are accepting payment from UK residents you also, by law need to be registered with the Financial Services Authority here in UK.
