    Hi,

As a job seeker earnestly looking for a job, I was happy to receive an email from a lady by the name of Anna an 'Administrator' from 'Live Innovations' saying that they had received my full application and would like to talk to me about my details and she asked me what time would be good to speak.

Although I could not remember ever having applied to a company by this name, I didn't want to be perceived as being ignorant and so I replied that I would be available for a chat in the noon that day, but I never received the call, Its only when I called the number provided the next day afternoon, did 'Anna' answer and say she was about to call me (what a coincidence? Not!). I informed her about my current situation and asked her about the role, she  said that she could not give me any more details about the job and that would be relayed to me by the MD, so we agreed the interview date and time.

Not even a second passed by when I hung up my phone, I instantly received a confirmation email about the interview (which to me was strange seeing that the email was detailed and the oddity was my name in caps- as if the email has been pre-typed with the exception of the name, date and time and was ready to send).

The email informed me that I was to be interviewed by the managing director 'Tom Harris', who would share the details about the job and if the meeting went well then I would be invited to meet the team for the second round and see the role in action. I set out to do some research on the company and went through their website which seemed straightforward but not much information, e.g. who are the management team?. After searching further I have come across this website explaining what other people have experienced and it has truly has helped save time and effort into having to go for an interview I have no idea about. Thanks all!

Same story as everybody else, didn't read this until after I had been asked to go back for an 'observation day' so glad i read this before i actually went, companies like this pray on the vulnerable and its only when you sit back and realise, you're being sold to from moment 1.

I met the MD, really nice friendly guy, showed me how i would be fast tracked into having my own office in a year blah blah e.t.c

All company correspondence is the same as what others have posted in here, what they do isn't illegal, however they are purposely vague/ambiguous and just spoil you with niceties. It's not a scam, wrong side of ethical but thats business.

Direct sales is inevitable in all business but the ethics of these people are what is really concerning. They promise so many young people if they give up their friends and family and life for at least a year they can achieve greaty things; Like run their own company. The problem is that 90% of the people that start leave but this doesn't bother the people at the top because these young people are doing sales and making them more money, giving them titles. The young people suffer and those above them profit. You start off doing the basic sales. This can be door to door, business to business or at retail shops. This is to do sales on behalf of other companies PerDM (they outsource the clients for all the direct sales companies in the UK and abroad) outsources. The list of clients is growing and they are trying to attract more well known client to lure in the youth and make people believe they are a reputable business. After you do the basic sales you are told to progress you need to teach other people to do the same while still doing the sales.

Wait a minute...I thought I was self employed. Why am I being told to train others to progress or move forward with their business. There isn't any progression involved in a self employed role (or should it?). So the young people spend all day training other people to help the manager do more sales and make his business more profitable. You are also supposed to help out the people you are training so this means covering their travel, food and if you are on a business trip their hotel rooms. Your sales haven't increased but you still are told to pay for someone else and yourself and then go out and do sales. Then you are berated if you do not meet expectations or targets.

But if you stick around after everyone quits and make it to management a they call it. (not sure how that is allowed in a self employed role). They tell you a city to open up in and tell you a client you have to work with. There is no choice for yourself because the people in charge need to make the client happy to make themselves more money. The client pays PerDM a larger profit of the money to ensure they increase the market share and then PerDM pays the owners peanuts. Most of the managers in the business earn less than £10,000 a year because of fees marked up by PerDM. Out of the hundreds of managers in the offices in the UK only about 10 of them are profitable. I urge anyone who sees these companies to stand up and complain. Force them to offer a basic wage. Don't complain that it is a commission door to door job because all they will do is change their company name once their is an ASA investigation. So I won't even give you their names. BUT GO TO YOUR LAWYER. FIGHT SELF EMPLOYMENT. GET YOUR MINIMUM WAGE. THESE PEOPLE MAKE LOADS OFF OF YOUNG GRADS!! IT'S TIME PEOPLE FOUGHT BACK. It can bring you success but they should do more and offer more to people who break their backs making them more money.

I woreked for Infinity Acquisitions in Belfast, it was absolute hell the Manager (as he called himself, I found out later he was nothing but a lacky for the real manager who had cleared off to Canada) Pearse McDade is a vile little man, he told us all lies like he earned £100k and lived in a penthouse, in reality he lives with his mother and never went on the field at all, he still owes me £400 which he took from my pay because he once bought me lunch before i quit! DO NOT GO FOR AN INTERVIEW WITH INFINITY ACQUISITIONS IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!

CITIPEAK PROMOTIONS LTD  (23-26 ST ALBAN'S PLACE, ANGEL, LONDON N1 0NX) called me yesterday.... I was told I was successful for a Trainee Marketing role to help improve my CV in order to move up into the marketing world.  As I was still speaking with 'Vicki' the Business Administrator I received an instant email confirming my interview I organised for a few days later - weird because we hadn't even completed the conversation - obviously and auto email.  (not cool)  I did think that was weird (first light bulb).

After reading the email and the very LENGTHY and detailed description of how to get to this office I started to wonder, what is really going on here. (second light bulb).  After preparing myself for the interview, something came over me to do some research and see what this company are really about - By research I mean look BEYOND the pointless website they have created.  After reading this thread, and many many others as well as articles and finding out that this company has changed office locations and company names numerous times I realised I was waisting my time. (third and final light bulb).

I am a well respected professional who just moved from Australia and I DO NOT have time to waste on pointless jobs (and interviews for that matter) - this makes me sick. I feel sorry for all the young people you suck into your organisation - Please take your time to research ANY job/company before an interview - NO ONE should be treated this way especially if they are new to the country.  Get a pub job - the pay isn't great but at least you will good people and be treated way better - something will come your way, it has to!

Anyway I plan on not showing up at the interview after reading all these posts from people. I am not even letting them know I will not be showing up.  I would like to waste their time and if they call I will be straight and tell them I did my research and don't have time to waste.  I came to UK for challenges and a career progression in MARKETING - not door to door sales you fools!!!!!!

    Good luck people.

Look at this review obviously written by the owner

    Infinity Aquisitions
I worked for 7 months for infinity reaching the position of corporate leader.
i came from graphic design and had very few social skills for working with members of the public.
Even so i was took under the wing of my leader who took the time to train me. i've never seen such dedication to helping others in the workplace before.
As i grew in confidence it seemed other doors in my work life and personal life began to open. Eventually i had enough skill and training to be able to teach, train and manage my own crew.
I was even asked to interview people on the company's behalf.
I now work as a national recruiter for a multinational organisation, a job i never before thought possible.

    Utter Rubbish
