OMG IM SO PISSED OFF... I WENT FOR AN INTERVIEW TODAY AND WAS PLEASED WALKING OUT OF SHAND STREET SHAND HOUSE IN LONDON BRIDGE... GOT A CALL AT 5PM SAYING I HAVE BEEN INVITED OUT FOR A SECOND INTERVIEW 2MROW, IM THINKING I SHOULD STILL GO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? IS IT REALLY ONLY COMMISION BASED?? THAT IS POOR AND LOW MAN.0

Had an email about the 1st nterview and then call where my questions were not answered. No company would email you HEY MO! This is definitely scam! The woman I spoke to on 020 86160989 from Galaxy Marketing at 14-20 Shand St. London SE1 2ES called Kacy Wilson said the website is under construction and doesn't have any more info about the job as all will be discussed with the manager on teh day?!! Very unprofesional and full of [***]! I saw their AD in November as well and they are known as different company. I never had a reply to my email about basic questions as type of the job, working hours and basic salary.
I work close to their offices so let me tell you: I go and tell them what bunch of [***] holls they are and then report to goverment services!!!

I found the ad on gumtree, it sounded like something i would love to do by the minimal info about the job. They rang me up straight away to arrange an interview with me, i was exited and i went, there was so many people attending for interviews that we had to go in 2's. While i was there the also told me minimal about the role, i got through to the 2nd interview, i went and spent alot of money altogether, on that 2nd interview i went with their group to see what type of promotion it was. I WAS IN PUTNEY KNOCKING ON PEOPLES DOORS !!! i decided to leave after 10 minutes...I had to pay to travel there and i was lost in putney trying to find my way out !! I was so angry, they advertise the job so much online, they dont decribe the job well enough, they are wasting peoples time and money !! I was not happy !!

Cannot even begin to explain how pleased i am to find these forums... against all my better judgement i so nearly fell for it. Thinking about it now, i can't believe how stupid i nearly was. Must admit i'm pretty pissed off that companies are able to operate like this, it's such a disgrace.

So had my first 'interview' yesterday at Shand House.... To start with I couldn't find it. Completely missed the building and went next door asking oh so naively "is this London marketing services?" The lady behind the desk (at what looked like a REAL company) must have thought poor cow, but she pleasently directed me next door. I didn't know how to get in, but (un)luckily for me a profesional looking woman was coming up the stairs and opened the doors ..... probably send her up every 5 mins to let a fresh batch of gullible graduates in! Anyway she directed me downstairs, so i made my way to the basement. I thought this was wierd, but as i was nervous (and freezing) i didn't dwell on it. Walked into a lobby FULL of smartly dressed, young people waiting to be interviewd. Didn't have time to think about this one as the foreign receptionist shouted hi from across the room, thus diverting my attention somewhat.

I took my clipboard, sat down and filled it out like the obiedent graduate they're looking for. Then got called for my interview -with another person, wtf is that one about- by a guy whos suite looked like it was from asda (not that there's anything wrong with clothes from asda, but if your on like a million pound a year, like they act, i'm pretty sure you'd be wearing an expensive suit!)

The boy who i went in with was a really well spoken oxford graduate who had all the right answers. Made me doubt myself, and ended up feeling like a stupid essex girl. Which i never should have done because i have a fabulous degree (a 2.1 in journalism, which was actually better than oxford boys one) and plus technically i'm from greater londer (yeah thats my line and im sticking to it!) Either way, my interview was pretty crap so i left not feeling overly confident that they'd phone me between 5-6 (pretty specific), but also not overly bothered. But low and behold i got 'invited' to the second interview on monday where i'll get to shadow one of their top people. Which I now realise is slang for slave labour..... walking around london for 9 hours trying to flog stuff door to door?? DO ONE!

Just very grateful i've had the weekend to research this cowboy company, and didn't waste money topping up my oyster. I really hope oxford boy has done his research and isn't conned into a career selling his soul. Don't get me wromg, if door-to-door selling and cold calling is your destiny in life, good for you i hope you're very succesful. But i do not appreciate being misled into thinking it's a marketing job. So London marketing services (or whatever other name you go by) you can jog right on!!

Guys also be aware of this number 0208 616 0989. Its the same company under the name of Galaxy Marketing. They also have another company name Aspire. Bunch of SCAMM.

DO NOT EVEN BOTHER TO GO FOR THE INTERVIEW!!!!

got an email from monster marketing today same old crap its door to door selling nothing to people... also had a exact same experience with JK marketing in maidstone the second interview was 9 hours stuck in the deep snow in a lane pushing a car up the road i was not happy

I dont see raising money for charities as selling crap!!!

I dont see saving people money on phone bills as selling crap!!!

I dont see offering hard working people the chance to treat loved ones with cosmetics usualy in the price range of only the rich and famous as selling crap!!!

If this company is a scam, I would find it very hard to believe that huge multinational companies such as the carphone warehouse, victoria jackson, vodaphone, scottish power, tesco, argos, selfridges... to name but a few would be asking them to work on their behalf!  

The type of work at the entry level may be hard and different to what people may expect to do at entry level, but isnt it the same in any company??? no one gets a job straight away as a commander in the armed forces or CEO of a supermarket chain!!! You have to work hard from the bottom up!!!... exactly the same with these companies!

Ask yourself this one question...

If it is a scam then why wouldnt the authorities get involved and close them down???... after all they havent moved to another location they stay where they are!

I followed these blogs for a while after being slightly suspicious a few months back when offered an interview at a similar place! .. Guess what I gave it a chance saw the bigger picture and oppertunity on offer and havent looked back since!... Its not for everyone granted but just because it works a little different to what we are force fed as the "norm" doesnt really make it a scam now does it!

And before anyone blogs about brainwashing and all the other bollox i have seen on blogs like this dont bother...... I am not a young wet behind the ears graduate, i have been round the block and have a lot of life experience as an ex soldier and ex police officer so know a con when I see one and this surely isnt one, its a great oppertunity to work in a very very fun environment make lots of money as long as you apply what is taught to you and develop yourself along the way!

Yeah the role is 100% commision based, but dont you think it makes business sense to do that as the company only charges its clients for the sales they make??? would be stupid to pay people a basic if they were to go out, be lazy and make no sales instead just sit in the warm pub all afternoon!!!!  Also means you get to write your own paycheck! you get out what you put in!

May sound a bit rantish (if thats a word) but I am pretty peeved with the fact that something although yeah not the normal way, but a way that really works all the same can be deemed as an instant scam!

I would say just give it a go and if its not for you then what have you lost??? a couple of days out of your whole lives... no biggey!

One last thing... the second round interview... you are only there to observe the basic entry level role not to actually do any sales you observe and get told about the role and oppertunity at the same time being assessed on your suitibility for a position... same way other companies work!!!!!

wtf? wats wrong wid monster.co.uk? I got both theses scam jobs from them. iam gonna notify them. is it safe then to search jobs online by putting all your details on these unreliable websites? when i dint turn up for the interviews no one bothered to call me and wen i asked for their website they foolishly said that its under construction. gumtree shud show more genuiness in regards to job search, i got one from them as well.

its a scams very strange how they rang me the same day i applied for it and the lady over the phone sounded like she was 16! anyways i got an email from EA and an hour later from GLAXALY saying the same thing that ive got my 1st  interview with them and i didnt even apply with them WTF!!!

Just to let people know, the company has changed the name, and now it is called london marketing services, you can check for example the address.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! been invited to a interview today, somehow  dont believe i will be attending. after the advice from this site and others i decided to call them to ask some questions. after 5 attempts and everytime i got a diffrent company name.. i spoke to a women who was so vague about the job i could have been applying to become a builder. I asked about training and if i would gain a recognised qualification and the reply i got was "You will be recognised as a manger" yeah right.

Finaly she did admit it was Door to door sales and there was no garanteed wages the company was
EA Worldwide Acquisitions and if you see them advertised on Total jobs or reed i would advise to stay clear.

I'm glad I checked this website. I have an interview with tom harris , EA Worldwide Acquisitions tomorrow. Sent my cv and got a reply really quick from Courtney Sagar with whom I had a weird conversation, if so.. When I answered the phone I heard a "Good morning sexy!" , I thought it was someone joking but then when she heard my voice she pretended she couldn't pronounce my name properly, which doesn't sound any close to that..I think she had a chewing gum or  something while talking to me because she was making weird noises and I couldn't really understand what she was saying.. I asked her about the salary and told me that would be discussed with the manager depending on my skills and previous experience, but now it says here it's commission. They are lying to us to make us go for the first interview and start washing our brains with the money they make from their slaves the young graduates!! I am definitely not going to the first interview tomorrow!
I haven't had a worse experience on the phone with anyone and haven't heard such bad reviews either. Do not go near them!

I'm gonna send this Courtney sagar an email to tell her to go do something else with her sexy friends because dealing with the public is definitely not for her. Unprofessional people work in unprofessional companies. Do not waste our time and go back to america to brainwash someone else!

I went to London Marketing Services for an interview and somehow they never called me back (and THANK GOD FOR THAT!) I guess it is because I had some good job experience but wanted to get into marketing.

I recently saw another two companies:  Galaxy Marketing and EA Worldwide, advertising similar roles and they all stating the same address!!! It doesn't take a genious to realise this is a SCAM

hi let me tell you what i know about all those companies at London Bridge. I worked there for 4 months but was not confident enough to talk to people by myself. I joined EA WORLDWIDE in Nov 2009, the week I started they had a very big rally in Birmingham and there were about 4 thousand people there from other marketing companies in the UK and some from SpaIn. My Manager Josh Cote ( the sexy American ) got promoted to Vice President it was a great day and long but I learnt alot about how these companies work.

I def understand why so many clients work with direct marketing companies it very cheap and the clients are in a win win situation and thats why everything is on commision. They work with similar clients like Talk Talk, Charities , Victoria Jackson , Miller Pattison and Citi Bank. Now when I started i thought it was a pyramid scheme and was told to read up the word pyramid scheme. this is NOT  a PS because they don't ask you money when you start the business.

Now I know it confussing how all these companies are under one roof but they are different and owed by different people. there is London Marketing Services who do DOOR to DOOR. has a manager call JOHAN ( he is from Kenya ), he works with Charities.
There is   Hector Montava who also works with Charities on Residential and on B2B. he cames from America. He's company name is SOURCE  Marketing.
There Is Live Marketing owned by Tom Harris who does door to door on charities.
There is GALAXY MARKETING owned by Warren ( South African) he does charity on Events .

THe charity client they work for is Called FIL and they look after 60 charities in the uk.

Then there is Ivan and SARAH BETH ( married to Josh ) who do talk talk and Opel. I don't trust SARAH BETH , she is very false.

I left because im not ready for so much responsibility, long hours.

I got offered an interview with them, and cos i was unemployed i thought id go to it, then they called me back after saying id passed, and then called me back for a second interview, so i went to that, spending a whole day with one of their managers. at the end of that day, i had one final interview, and after that was offered the job. i thought £250+ a week sounded great at my age (18), until i realized that would be working from 8am-6:30pm, which is 63 hours a week. that works out at roughly £3.96 PER HOUR!!!!! do not work for them, this is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
