Old Bloke replies to Response to TTD
    TTD and Response

I do not thinking DVP is a sinking ship, fair from it the residue income they have is absolutely huge, I would agree and have done so that I think a lot of their actions and princi[pals is not good. TTD has a valid point but if he does work for them he is in the 5%, whether he does or is capable of being good to clients uis a different debate.

I think that by the commissions and structure of the products it is difficult to offer the best solutions in terms of value and flexibility.

Ha ha, we are all ranting on, DVP are still trading with Nigel Greebo at the helm, no doubt they have had a bad couple of years , and their tricks are pretty well known to most ex pats, they should be finished in a couple of years as I can't see them making many 1000 USD a month X 25 yr plans can you ? But Greebo will live his years in luxury and a few hundred fresh faced suckers will see their dreams and assets lost !

One more time .......... if you are considering working with these people .........in one word .......Don't !

Interesting. What's your experience of this person's professionalism and what was he doing before working for Devere?

    Green is having "great fun":

"Mr Green is hoping for a 25 per cent increase in turnover this year, adding: “Driving our expansion is two things.
“Our clients – who want to be looked after wherever they are - and our staff.
“People in the company want to improve and have opportunities so there is pressure from both sides.
“I have to admit it is great fun.”"

    Some info on alleged outlay:

Part of post from this thread: http://muscatconfidential.blogspot.com/2010/0 ... ewhat-bent.html
"In the seven months I have worked for Devere I have put in business worth (to me) £55,000 less training costs, retention, coordinator and office costs bringing it to around £30,000 I have received into the bank almost 2,500.

Can I also point out that to achieve this level of commission I have worked my but off and have not been 'selling' to near retired expats as some of my colleagues do i came accross one Orphan client aged 60 with a 20 year regular saving plan.

My problem is with so much money owed to me where do I go from here, very little of our life savings left probably enough to last us until February, kids settled in school, nothing to go back to the UK for, there ar several of us in the same position."

    BBC documentary

BBC Panorama documentary (October 2010): http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00vcrtg

It starts off with an interview with a partially sighted British man in his early 70s who had been contacted by a salesman for a company called PCD, advising him to move the pension he had been investing in for 30 years. Thinking that the company sounded respectable, he agreed to the investment proposed. The salesman read out the documents, and he signed up. But a few months later, he discovered that the salesman had taken a 4% commission from the total savings of 120,000 pounds. A further 6% in commission was then taken when the savings were invested in an offshore fund. So, in just a few weeks, PCD had taken 10% of the savings.
The BBC had learned that PCD had persuaded at least 200 people, who were either already retired or approaching retirement, to move their pensions to offshore investments. Each time, PCD had taken 10% of the savings, earning the firm nearly 2 million pounds in commission.
To find out who was behind PCD, the BBC went to the address given to clients who had signed up. It turned out to be a mailbox address, with no actual office. The real address which appeared in records at Companies House was a few minutes away, but the company had left that address after the landlord had alledgedly told them to leave. The BBC had found another address in Birmingham for a bungalow in a residential area. The landlord told the BBC that PCD was there earlier in 2010 but had left after about six weeks without paying the rent. The BBC was unable to find a current address, but discovered that PCD was owned by a Cyprus-based company called Inter-Alliance WorldNet (IAW). From the BBC voiceover: "It [Inter-Alliance WorldNet] is licensed by the UK regulator to sell insurance, not pensions. IAW in turn is owned by the same man who owns this company, deVere Group, and deVere are based here in Knightsbridge, just a few hundred yards from Harrods. They sell financial products all around the world and commission is king.
We've managed to track down some internal documents that show just how well the business is doing... its top salesmen were earning over 200,000 pounds in commission in the first three months of this year. PCD and deVere are both owned by this man, Nigel Green. He would not give us an interview. Instead, he gave us a statement saying "I am no longer a director of IAW and have never played an active role in the day to day running of the company". He said IAW had "acted properly in bringing their concerns about PCD to the attention of the authorities as soon as it became aware that allegations had been made"."
According to this (http://www.duedil.com/director/915038180/nigel-james-green, http://company-director-check.co.uk/director/915038180), Mr Green is no longer a director of Devere and Partners (UK) Ltd or of Devere Recruitment, but is a director of IAW.

I've replied to the e-mail with this, and i am going

    Ashley,

I can confirm I will be attending tomorrow but only to discourage others from wasting any more of their time or money. This is due to the incredible volume of negative feedback I have now read about the company regarding how they treat both customer's and staff. this http://devere-group.pissedconsumer.com/devere-3a-do-not-let-this-desease-infect-you-20110511236966.htm is one of hundreds of posts I've read, although i'm sure you are familiar enough with them.

I feel deeply sorry for anyone who wastes their time or money attending tomorrow, it's disgraceful to take advantage of the current job market the way you are.

You should be deeply ashamed of yourself for the role you play in ruining peoples lives,

Realist wrote: "Green is basically trying to rebrand this ... enterprise with a new name and splitting up the company into various separate entities ... to provide a degree of apparent respectability and legality."

There is a connection between Devere Group and two apparently separate financial advisory firms, Trafalgar International (http://www.trafalgar-international.com/) and AES International (http://www.aesfinance.com/). This is shown by publicly available information online.

    1. Trafalgar International
The company website shows that Trafalgar is not only partnered with companies like Generali and Skandia whose products are frequently recommended by Devere advisers, but also with "VAM funds" (http://www.trafalgar-international.com/Partners,17707,15877.html, http://www.vam-funds.com/). VAM stands for "Valais Asset Management" (https://www.devere-group.com/news/The-deVere- ... nces-today.aspx), and is closely related if not identical to "Valais Investment Management" ("Valais Investment Management... This important information relates to Valais Asset Management...." http://www.valais-investments.com/disclaimer.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f). The Swiss business register shows that Nigel Green is a partner in Valais Investment Management (http://vs.powernet.ch/webservices/inet/HRG/HR ... 0&lang=4&sort=0). Devere promotes VAM funds/Valais funds to its clients(https://bostonfundsdirect.com/test/MSFundOverview.cfm?isin=LU0404614934, https://www.devere-group.com/fundhouses/ValaisInvestmentManagementSarL.aspx).

    2. AES International
AES International and Trafalgar International share a manager, as shown by the entries in the Swiss business register (http://ge.ch/hrcintapp/externalCompanyReport. ... &ofrcLanguage=4, http://ge.ch/hrcintapp/externalCompanyReport. ... &ofrcLanguage=4).

AES International's website has the tagline "making you money, putting you first" and refers to high professional standards (http://www.aesfinance.com/about-aes/). Although the website creates a  general positive impression, it does not go into specifics about the products the company recommends and does not name the provider companies with which it is partnered (http://www.aesfinance.com/bank-trustees-and-institutions/partnerships/). However, a separate site by an AES representative names at least two product providers: Generali (http://www.aesinternational.com/rossnaylor/in ... -international/) and Skandia (http://www.aesinternational.com/rossnaylor/sa ... ring-inflation/).

    Staffing of Devere/Trafalgar International/AES International
A Google search of LinkedIn shows that several advisors have moved between these companies (e.g. from AES to Devere, from Devere to AES, from Trafalgar to Devere). One of Trafalgar's managers (named in Swiss business register) has recently moved to head Devere's office in Sweden (https://www.devere-group.com/news/deVere-Grou ... -in-Sweden.aspx). Another company name which appears in some of these profiles is Guardian Wealth Management.
