Directors - wide boys from Bromley in there mid 20s.
Investments - mass cold calling the elderly for their savings.
Yes all the directors know each other.
Dont for a second think they have any 'Legal' advice or protection.

Mass delusions of being big time Wall Street players but actually cant string a sentence together and wouldn't get 2 minutes at a blue chip reputable investment bank.

Pitty them, especially the cold callers, they will get no salary, only a commission of the money they bring in. Maybe a nice suit and watch but will live with their parents.

I was called yesterday by Imperial Wines of London (02036170540) offering a wine investment opportunity. Clearly a call centre and a completely unsolicited cold call. Internet earches have revealed that there are question marks over this and associated organisation s and Imperial Wines have job vacancies on the web for sales people/brokers requiring them to make 200-300 telephone calls per day.
They have sent me a very glossy expensively-produced brochure extolling the benefits of wine investment and this is due to be followed-up by a call from one of their "investment brokers".

In view of your article on landbanking and wine investment scams I thought this was worth reporting.

All thses companies do is charge grossly over the top prices for their products.Consequently their products have no investment potential whatsoever ...... YES THEY ARE ALL SCAM MERCHANTS. I should know I was involved in the fleecing fools game for over 19 years.

Has anyone heard about the lucrative would of rare earth metals.

I received a call out of the blue from a enthusiastic young man called Steve, I think he was from Essex?

Apparently, the market is going to be huge.

He has advised me to go balls deep in this one!

I am now in the process of selling my wife's engagement ring to get involved.

    Thoughts?

    Hi all,

Good news,  after going knee deep in the world of rare earth metals my broker "Gary" has told me I have made a 500% return.

    Yippee!!!

He has told me I should spend the money on (Brasses),,,,,,what ever that means?

Apparently he now has another investment opportunity but he tells me it is better to hold my current portfolio and top up with fresh cash........

What are your thought on investing in cemetery plots?

If you were "legit" you would be well advised to do something about those claiming to be from your organisation. I have now had two sets of calls from your company which have been rude and aggressive. I have made clear that I am not interested but on both occasions they have phoned back twice after I hung up. This is illegal. Fortunately I am not intimidated by these nuisance calls from ignorant barrow-boys... it became very clear that they know nothing about fine wine!!!

    CJ - WARNING PLZ READ
Having unfortunately worked for a few commodity brokers in Carbon, Metals, Wine and Agriculture, I can unfortunately say that the whole 'alternative investment' market is a scam. I was young and gullible to believe the rubbish that my directors were telling me. Once I found out I was out straight away. I have to live with taking money off of people in what i thought was legitimate real investments. The Directors of these companies even lie to the staff and make it very very believable!! There is even a back story of suppliers and bonded warehouse Managers that come and do talks to the 'broker' to make it all seem real to the staff. They even made fake clients to come in and talk about how much money they have made from the investment.
The directors work you to the bone and but immense pressure on you and also use threatening behaviour. Getting no basic wage and living off commissions, on some months was less than £500.  All the signs were there and I am ashamed I didn’t realise. The 3 companies I worked for are all shut down and 3 are in prison for fraud. They employ young impressionable boys and promise the world. When I left the last company I was threatened to be put in hospital and have my family attacked if I spoke about where I worked.
I advise anyone to just hang up the phone if they are called, do not entertain whatever they have to say.

Hi Benjamin, yes maxwell that invested £28000 in your wines. That were all over priced and I have no chance of getting my money back on them, so much for our retirement money nest egg. thanks for nothing. All your company done for me was aged me by about 20 years with worry, while you and Mr Angel tell nothing but lies to fleece people out their retirement savings. You'll get your day and a hope you suffer. Oh and yes I had a contract with you for 5 years of your company paying for storage at LCB But because I had words with your little fairy helper Angel that contract is no more, so I'm not just over paying for the wines that were going to make me a fortune, I was told over the phone from Angel almost every other day pestering me and my wife, but I'm now having to pay the storage as well. So much for IWL. I will be telling as many people as I can about yous cowboys. giruy

What is the actual mark up you have on your wine ?

come on Benjamin you can answer these questions, cant you ?

Do you tell prospect buyers of your wine threr is upfront fees involved ?

Can you tell me why your company Imperial wines cold call and will not get off the line to the point of rudeness, surely for a company to operate in this way can only mean desperation. I have now been called 4 times and have never come across such a hard sell. They have no intention of listening to me, I stop for a breath and they’re at it again. I have hung up and I will now be reporting them to my telephone provider and if they call again, the police for harrassment.
