Has anyone who has had the misfortune of dealing with Elite Gems contacted the police regarding investigating this company and directors.    I have this week received a typed letter from Safe Gems 'based' in Hatton Garden, London - to advise that they wish to forward on by possessions from Elite.   I think this is farcical in extreme, because the letter quality of paper/ writing is amateurish and they ask me to list the diamonds I have bought and send it back to them.    Please someone advise me of a point of contact within City of London police/ other agency as I want to get recompense and justice as a result of my unfortunate dealings with Elite.

My mate worked for Jubilee Diamonds and says it's all a complete scam. Overvalued Diamonds being pressure sold to unsuitable and non-sophisticated  investors. He is a man of very low ethics and standards and even he left the company because he didn't approve of how Jubilee conducted itself.

Separately, I have heard that Jubilee has gone into liquidation in the last couple of days. Has anyone else picked up on this?

Because you can run a scam company for a couple of years before you have to return accounts to Companies House, in that time they take the money and run.

NEVER deal with a company who have no returns with companies house, genuine companies will return after 1st year as credit companies will want to see evidence of a viable business, if they tell you they don't have to for a couple of years, ask yourself  what have they got too hide?

    Its not rocket science

    Jubilee Diamonds: Last paragraph.

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE    NO. 5338 of 2013
RE: JUBILEE DIAMONDS LTD (IN PROVISIONAL LIQUIDATION)

    (REGISTERED NUMBER 07761935)

On 1 August 2013, the Official Receiver was appointed Provisional Liquidator of the above named company on the application of the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. The Secretary of State presented a petition to wind up the company on public interest grounds on 31 July 2013 and this is due to be heard in the High Court on 6 November 2013.

The role of the Provisional Liquidator, generally, is to preserve the Company.s assets, property and records pending the hearing of the winding up petition. At the hearing on 6 November 2013 the Company will either:
    1. Be placed in to compulsory liquidation (if the directors do not defend the petition). If this happens the Official Receiver will be appointed as liquidator and will write to all of the known investors; or

    2. If the directors defend the petition the hearing will be adjourned to a later date where there will be a trial and it will be up to the Court to either make the winding up order and place the Company into compulsory liquidation or dismiss the petition and remove the provisional liquidator, who would then hand the Company back to the directors.

Customers who have paid money to the Company for the purchase of diamonds should email their contact details, customer number and amount invested to piu.or@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk

Any "commodity" without a spot price is a scam. Oil? Spot price. Gold? Spot price. Sugar? Spot price. Urea? Spot price. Diamonds, carbon, wine, rare Earth metals etc = no spot price, they are worth what the idiot selling them to you says they are worth. There are obviously items that sell where the prices ARE subjective like fine art, classic cars, antique watches etc but those worlds are surrounded by industry experts and world famous auction houses...not a couple of Kent wide boys about to stand trial.

Most of these guys can't be trusted, if you get a call and your interested then arrange to meet them either personally or with your FA. If they're running a legitimate broking company then they will be more than happy to meet you and discuss all their offerings and it will give you more of a feel on whether they are genuine or not.
