got a call today no one spoke could hear people on back ground how do you stop these calls

Got a call from this number this evening 6pm, went to my answerphone but the message was just ppl talking in the background!

I missed a call from this number today and "googled" it, hence I found this site.  Want to thank everyone who has posted comments, as I shall now be wary but alert if I do answer.

Received a missed call from this number on Saturday 4.9.10 at 10.26 - as I was working, did not pick it up - no message left, so no idea who they are, but it is not anyone that I know, so not bothered to call back.

Got a call from this number 0207 890 9051 - they left no message - can someone tell me who they are?

If you read the whole thread it says on Page 1 that GFKNOP is a genuine market research company.
Market research calls are not illegal, and they are not covered by the TPS. Only Sales calls are.

Got a call rang it back as my brother in law is 0207. It is GFK surveys.

Got a call today from them wanting my wife to do a survey about Car Maintenance

i got a call from this number but i could not understand anything.

Got another call - no message left.

Had a call last week (don't know from which number) asking MY WIFE about MY Loyds bank accounts - Where did they get that information? Worrying.

Received the call at 10.45 on Sunday am, had suspicions as said 'good afternoon' said it was market research company - unlikely as they normally ring from a National or blocked no. not an 0207 one.

These idiots have been calling me for the last few days, i have answered an the call is dropped, no message left on the answer machine when I let it go to answer machine.

I am reporting them to OFCOM and TPS, if they are getting on your nerves call them back on the office number, they like drop calling....

They even call to norwegian numbers...

2 Report to the police for nuisance calls - nuisance calls are illegal.

I don't tolerate silent or offence conduct and I will not be a silent victim. My number is ex-directory & saying randomly generated is to me special words to say we obtained these numbers illegally through leakage or buying personal info from a company that should not be selling our info on.

Ofcom is a govt organization and so is subject to Ombudsman investigation right??

I receive the call from the above number, and presented as barclays custmer service
and I try to call back, it is only a message from GSK

Just had a call from this number (1471) to confirm. It sounded like a room full of kids and people busily doing something (Playing and watching tv? ) Anyway It was on my answer machine so I never got to talk to anyone. Very odd call though...

Had a call from 02078909051 this morning 10 October at about 12 35 pm. Didn't take the call and it rang off without leaving a message.
