These are random dialled calls and do not fall under Telephone Preference Service.

Called by this number whilst out. 19.30 ish today. No message left on answer machine. As someone commented above who in this day and age is going to answer questions on banking from an untrusted party? Interesting they are not covered by TSP!
Will not get any cooperation if they call back.

Similar to above - poorly identified caller (my wife thought they said GSK and we wondered why GlaxoSmithKline were calling us!) who was vague about what they wanted.

Received 5 calls last Thu and Fri and one today from 02078909051, each time they didn't leave a message. When I look it up on the Internet, I find it is from GFK NOP. I have registered with TPS, so it is really annoying they disregard this. Time for another complaint to Ofcom...

GFKNOP is a genuine market research company and they are not breaking any TPS rules because they're not trying to sell anything.  The person that interviewed me was very professional and pleasant.  Check out the following links for their website, where you can confirm the number from which you were called and see that they are a genuine company:

Got a call. I Don't answer these. Thank god for your site as I have been able to identify most of thees numbers who have been pestering me for the last 3 months. I will be having as serious talk to my bank about this as what I have seen fits with the reasons I get these calls. Other numbers they use are 0870 850 7618 0844 581 1015.

Has a call from this number today but didn't answer it. They rang in the week as well.

Im ex directory and i still got a phone call off these guys! well i answered the phone and they hung up!

this number rang my home phone (landline) yesterday , missed call 1471 to see who it was, didn't recognise it so left it. today same number calls my mobile. i didnt answer. know i know who it might be i might speak to them if they ring again and see where it leads!!  might wind them up a bit to teach them a lesson!!

I am exdirectory plus registered with the telephone preference service - so how do I stop calls like this?

just received a call on this number about 1 minutes ago.... surely they must realise people have better things to be doing!!

Received call today.  caller identified himself as being from GFK NOP, and explained that he was carrying out a survey on Royal Bank of Scotland.  he then asked "whether anyone banked with RBOS?"

Surely in this day and age, such unsolicited calls about banking are completely inappropriate.  My immediate concern was that he was trying to find indentity information.

Why does nobody shut these people down?

Have been hounded by this number on my mobile. I answered the first call and was told could I take part in a survey on behalf of HSBC. They then asked my name, at which point I said they should have that information and refused to give it. They have since called back 10 times. I am reporting this as harrassment to OFCOM

Received 2 calls from this number today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and a call yesterday.  Didn't answer.
