I am afraid you have wasted your time by complaining to OFCOM.  The reason is that Market Research calls are NOT covered by TPS.  This is apparent to anyone who reads the opening page of the TPS website. If you want to stop them 'phoning it is easy.  Go to their website and use the "Contact US" facility.  Tell them to remove your information from ALL their data bases for ALL their companies.  The ALL is important as GFK/NOP are one of the Largest Market Research companies in the world and have several MR companies in the group.  In addition different groups of researchers do different surveys so asking one caller to remove your details does not remove your details from the central data base.  These people may be a nuisance but that is because they are trained to keep 'phoning until they get an answer because of the company's belief that we really want to answer their surveys!!  Therefore, ignoring them does not work.

Had an unwanted call from this number. Who is the caller. What is the name of the company.

Just received a call from this number at 8.38pm!  Call appeared to be from the UK, didn't catch the name of the company but certainly wasn't prepared to answer their questions.  When asked where they obtained my number (I have the TPS) they said a machine dials random numbers put together which figures as I had 3 silent calls earlier today and then they make a follow up call.... what a cheek!

These people called my friend today. She didn't recognise the number so didn't pick up, but other internet posts show this number as belonging to NOP surveys. This was an unsolicited, unwanted call from these annoying parasites. Interestingly, other internet comments state that this number has been used to conduct research for Lloyd's Bank - and a few weeks ago my friend opened a new Lloyd's Bank account!

Unfortunately, although they may be pests the are legitimate.  They are one of the largest Market Research companies in the world.  Sadly for us, the Researchers are trained to keep 'phoning until someone answers.  This is because they do not know what is going on in our lives and think we might actually want to talk to them, and be upset if we can't give our opinion on things!  If you want to stop calls from Market Research compan ies, this is not covered by TPS rules.  You need to go to the company website and use the "Contact Us" facility.  Tell them to remove your data from ALL their data bases for ALL their companies.  The ALL is important because some of these companies are part of a group  and different sets of Researchers carry out different surveys.  Therefore, if you tell the person 'phoning you to remove your data it is only removed from that survey.

8.45pm I never answer 020 numbers they are all suspect if you ask me.

Have just emailed the foll message to GFK as recommended by Nan on April 23rd.
"Please remove my telephone numbers from ALL of your databases for ALL of the companies you represent."

Had missed call from this number today and no message left on answerphone so will be aware who it is if they ring again, thanks for these postings which are most helpful.

What is this no from?

Called for me at my parents' house...wouldn't say who they were despite my mum asking several times. I have not lived there for years!!

I had a call from 02078909051 today no message left on answer phone was out so no idea who it was

The person stated they were calling on behalf of one of my providers but would not give details, they eventually hung up.

Report to Action Fraud 0300 123 2040 They are very interested in this caller.

Action Fraud would have no interest whatsoever in calls from GFK/NOP who are one of the largest Market Research Companies in the world.  They are not a scam or a fraud they are just a nuisance.  That nuisance can be stopped by taking the easy steps mentioned higher up the page.

Called me to say that they were calling from my service provider. I asked them to confirm which service provider but they refused to say, claiming that, due to the Data Protection Act" they were unable to do so!

Called me just before 9PM, that I consider is an antisocial time to conduct business, especially cold calling. Said they were doing market research, i.e. they want you to give them your personal information so they can profit from it. Needless to say they were not successful!

They're still at it. 3 calls to my landline over the last 3 days, phone rings about 6 times (not long enough to reach the phone) and no message left. Really annoying.

TPS needs to act with this type of irritating invasion of one's time and home.
