Had a call from this number. Chatty female asking if I was in need of money, and if I was aware that if so I could borrow money from my pension fund?!!. I asked her why she was phoning me as I am TPS, to which she replied she did not know where my number came from, just that I was on a list she had been given in front of her.

I then promptly hung up.

So I guess it might be them that called you about your pension fund.

Strangely enough if you put Anthony Chewins in to google then at the top of the search results it links to this linkedin profile for Tony Chewins  Bournemouth, United Kingdom

As well as displaying a nice mugshot of Mr Chewins if you are logged in to a linkedin account you can see that he gives his occupation as 'Director at Mortgage Mania Ltd' also his Past says

       * Owner at FS Resourcing Ltd
       * Manager at Myriad

Google search Mortgage Mania Ltd, and that takes you to another dodgy looking site called Money Back Mortgages here: http://www.moneybackmortgages.com, it says at the bottom of the website is a trading style of Mortgage Mania Ltd.

Just my personal opinion but I would not touch anything this man has to offer with a very large barge pole, especially as I think it is highly doubtful that you can legally get a loan against your pension.

Also if you search 'Ribbonwood Heights, Poole' on google maps, the address given above for Mr Chewins business premises for pensionbackedloans.co.uk, then it would appear Mr Chewin runs his business from a charming looking block of high-rise flats!

I received a cold call from pension backed loans on this number yesterday.

Told them I might be interested in what they were offering & asked them send more info to my email.

Anyway received their email, seems they are acting as introducers offering something called a Pension Reciprocation Plan for some unregulated bunch of cowboys based in Alicante in Spain, who are called  Premier Pension Solutions SL, http://www.prempensions.com

Because I have & his patter is in no way business talk - words like legit etc - it is hard to get to speak to him & when he calls you back it is from a private number .... by the way his mobile is 07776 256269 & the advert i saw in the Sun Paper or News of World stated Tel 01202 835600 - then there is a London "office" number 0208 133 1548 -
I work in financial services - THERE IS NO WAY - WITHOUT EXCEPTION - where you can draw or borrow anything against your pension unless you are 55yrs old . Even then you CANNOT take out a loan against it - EVER!!!!!!! Be very careful he wants £295 upfront on a Credit Card , bearing in mind he will already have your name , address & DOB by then ....take care

I found their website through adverts on google, and was short of cash and had a large pension, I contacted them and they were very quick to get back (english too!), very polite and reassuring, went with them and now have got myself a very cheap loan, so don't be so sceptical, it actually works!

@Zach - Sorry buddy, but you have been stung, you just don't know it yet.

Did they tell you before you agreed to their loan, that sooner or later you are going to get fined 55% of what was the value of your pension fund by HMRC when they inevitability find out for breaking their rules + in all probability there will be nothing left in your pension when you come to take it. And oh yes, you will still then have to pay back their loan with interest too.

My guess is they didn't tell you that, am I right?

I think it is safe to assume that you are also Phil72 on Moneysavingexpert.com who stated "Recently I came across a company who claim on their website that you are able to “borrow up to 50% of your pension” with a “pension backed loan” at any age. As financially things are a bit of a struggle currently, and I have an old frozen pension from a previous employment I have been looking at the possibility of trying to release money from, I contacted them through their website."

To put the record straight we do not make out bound calls, all of our business is generated through our website. All of the pensions are UK based and governed by UK law. The 0208 133 1548 number is a Skype number and we are based in Poole.
It may be that some IFA's are worried about losing their trail commission.

I see, that's these people. Names ring any bells folks? :-)

You have kindly posted my personal details on this site. Why not come out from you cloak of secrecy and let us know what qualifications you have to be able to call this a scam?

Firstly if you read up you will see that it was Edward that posted your personal details on your website, not me. And I believe those details are freely available to anyone that does a whois search on your website.

Secondly I am not qualified at all in financial services, just repeating what has been written about you by a load of people over at moneysavingexpert who ARE involved in financial services that think you are scamming people, so maybe you should go and argue your case with them.

Although even I know that it is not possible to legally get a loan against your pension, and registered with companies house does not = authorized to deal in financial services in the UK.
