- Stuart replies to Investor| 2 repliesThis information is open to the public. This is what us investors have been told and so it's confirmed on the Madeira government website. I want what every investor wants and that is to at least get our money back. I truly believe that hotel investors will achieve this. He could of run away or even given up, but he has not. MR. Nascimento keeps us updated. The same way as he did when we all invested. You sound like a true investor and it's been nice having a conversation with you and as stated in the past just email info@morganforbes.com regarding the hotel. Regarding Pearl Island let's wait and see what the newsletter says in November.
- don m replies to Stuart| 1 replyAs some investors state they have visited Madeira, then how is the hotel building going?,i will put it to them no building work has started,as no planning consent has been granted, clearly in the M.F.document contract of sale,it did state SUBJECT TO PLANNING CONSENT.in the case of no consent being granted M.F. would return investors money plus 10%,good luck in your recovery of funds.
- rexpg replies to deleted posthow do we contact lynn howard and the others if their is no phone number and no reply to e mails
why did M N sell to a bunch of crooks - rexpg replies to don mhello don , well in my opinion not looking good Amber C not returned email no phone .Everbody it seems says MF is a scam Lynn Howard head of Amber is a friend of M nascimento ,then you get others on here say they have been over and seen the site
I cannot believe that if Morgan Forbes has sold Pearl Island to Amber and nascimento is getting all this crap if he is innocent he has not done something about it to keep his so called good name. Also if MF has sold to Amber for a lot of money why have they closed down why do they not have new projects.. - rexpg replies to Fred| 3 repliesi have emailed him no reply
- Robert replies to rexpg| 2 repliesI do believe that as we invested in Pearl Island initially with Morgan Forbes Michael had a duty of care to his investers when he sold to Lynn Howard -Amber Crest that they were a honest company and he was happy that they would see the conclusion to the project.
I presume that Michael recieved quite a lot of money for the sale of Pearl Island to Amber Crest and I know they sold the remaining shares but would still think they are in the red money wise o possibly break even with the deal so if they are crooks there is no money to run off with.
I would think that it is Amber Crests interest to complete the sale and for them and thier investors to get their payout. - ambercrestinvestor replies to deleted post| 10 repliesThe situation last October was that the hotel appeared to have planning permission subject to two small environmental studies being carried out. So this could have been completed some time ago were it not for another factor which requires investors to supply even more money, which it appears the newsletter will discuss. This further investment could potentially have been organised some time ago but it appears Mr Nascimento was busy with Pearl Island late last year/early this year.
Last October the Pearl Island land did not have planning permission although the newsletter pointed out various strategies that could be tried to maximise the value of the land. Rather than pursue these Mr Nascimento handed over the sale of the shares to a well known front person for scammers and associates which raised quick and easy money, without informing his shareholders that he was allegedly handing over control of Pearl Island. Although the fact that there was a scam going on was pointed out to him he was still happy to accept his cut from the proceeds and to do nothing about what was happening. There are recent posts indicating that mis-selling is still going on and obviously the land is being milked for as long as possible.
However according to posts on here there may some realisation that it is in everyone's interest now to get planning permission on both sites, and not just the hotel, as soon as possible. There is a lot of anger about what has happened with Pearl Island and the authorities are investigating. However if Mr Nascimento can demonstrate concrete steps which are being taken to maximise the number of villas which can be given planning permission, so that even those defrauded investors can get a return, then he can recover the situation before it is too late and make some legitimate money for himself as well.
Another concern is what has happened to all of the investors' money over the years. Amber Crest have made a lot of money, following on from the previous companies. Will any of it be made available for achieving planning permission or will they expect investors to come up with more money, as is the case with the hotel.
I hope you would agree that this is having a sensible conversation about what is happening. - don m replies to deleted postAs i have stated in my post yesterday,if investors have visited ponto prago what is the up date of the building,i will put it to all, no investor has been to Madeira, and that is why they cannot answer simple questions.
- don m replies to ambercrestinvestor| 9 repliesAsk Mr.Nascimento details of the building contractors, employed to build the hotel and villa's,with regard to planning permission it will not be granted by the local council, reasons given in last years postings, another fact who owns the land and is it mortgaged?

Amber Crest Uk Dissolved - AnonNo surprise that Amber Crest had dissolved, as has Morgan Forbes UK.
As has been said before most of these posts are just time wasting tactics from Michael Nascimento and/or his associates. Investors have three options:
1) Sit and do nothing, and possibly never see their money again.
2) Take civil action against Michael Niscimento. Request a charge order on Michael Nascimento's home address as the Ponta Do Pargo and Pearl Island contracts are in his name. In the case of the PDP investors it should be an open/shut case of breach of contract as investors were promised a refund plus 10% if construction of the hotel didn't start by March 2013. In the case of the Pearl Island investment the dodgy timelines in the Pearl Island brochure would expose PI as a complete scam as the firstly the land can only ever be used for agricultural purposes and secondly the land is only mortgaged by Michael and not owned outright. Michael would have to provide paper work to the court proving this was not a scam. Consequently any evidence given in a county court implying that PDP and PI were scams could then trigger a police investigation. So the likelihood is Michael Nascimento would probably settle out of court.

DMD media was a sister/shadow company of Morgan Forbes.

3) Actually report it to the police. If you are an official victim of the crime then you should be liable for compensation and the Proceeds Of Crime Act whereby, if found guilty, a court would issue a compensation order against Michael Nascimento to repay all the money that Morgan Forbes and it's sister companies have made from the scam otherwise he can have time added to his prison sentence if he doesn't pay the money back

Also it's worth contacting the Financial Conduct Authority as when Morgan Forbes were closet down in the UK, they thought they could still operate from abroad (hence Acropolis SGPS, Amber Crest etc.) However these companies are still illegal as they are selling to the UK without autorisation from the FCA.
If you sit back and don't do anything then not only will you most probably not see your money again but Nascimento and his associates will be allowed to continue conning other people. - don m replies to deleted post| 8 repliesYes everything is nice, but in which bank account are investors funds held?if all the companies conected with the hotel and villa's have been wound up then what is going on,it does not take 3 years to complete this proposed build,in fact the building has not yet started!!,what company(if any)hold the investors funds. Please note it does not take 3 years for a building licence to be granted,M.F.or anyone else had no right to take money from investors, before all consent and licences were in place.
- James replies to don m| 7 repliesThe Hotel investors money is in Morgan Forbes Internacional-Investiments Limitadas bank account.
Pearl Island investors money is in Amber Crest Investment SGPS bank account.
Both these companies are registered in Madeira and as far as I know neither of these companies have been wound up as you say.
The way to make money is to buy the land cheap and then to get the planning permission and build licence then to sell the land for a lot more than you bought it for.
Due to the European financial crisis madeira has recieved less money from Portugal an a temporary basis and was told to only spend money on important projects that had delayed the process by about two years. - Madeira1As a frequent visitor to the island I have friends that have made several investments both on the island and in Portugal.
Having an understanding of property law in Portugal and having a close contact with a few of the investors I saw a contract that was circulated in one of the newsletters saying that both sites have been sold or were in the process of being sold.
These documents as far as I understood had been notorised which then leads me to understand that if another buyer has now bought one of the sites where is the contract for this second sale and further more what happened to the company that signed the first contract.
As far as i understand the fist 2 contracts need to be cancelled by the notary to allow future sales. - don m replies to JamesPoint taken, but the money is not Portugals or Madeiras it is the money of private investors, no government or local government are investing in the boutique hotel or the villa's,this is tated to be a private project.
- don m replies to deleted post| 4 repliesThe contract also states work to start September 2011 or no later than March 2012,and the hotel would be completed by September 2012 but no later than March 2013,time however is not of the essence,i'll bet it is'nt.
- Anon replies to don m| 3 repliesFor someone who has admitted they have not risked their money in the investment and seem to gloat at others who have you have a surprising knowledge of what is in the contract between the company and its investors, so how would you have access to that information, please tell.
- don m replies to Anon| 2 repliesAs i have stated in previous posts,a salesman by the name of Aston based at Canary Wharf M.F.'s old office gave me all the details plus contract copies etc,he was asking me to invest £100,000,i had a high ranking bank official look into the paper's and contracts he informed me avoid at all costs.
- Anon replies to don m| 1 replyThanks for that info, so given you managed to avoid this scam, and even though you have tried to tell everyone their money is lost, it seems there are still a lot of contributors to this forum that still have a strong views that for every negative that has been stated there is a legitimate reason why things are where they are, quite a few very recent posts are very positive towards there being a return on their money, even making the trip to see the site. So seems just a war of words between what you believe and what's others believe, only time will tell who is right, but whatever the outcome you are not out of pocket. Seems almost time wasted having the arguments.
