- BlondmusicI keep getting calls from some company asking for a Mrs Wilson who I have never heard of. I keep telling them that no-one of that name uses my number but they take no notice. I would love to know who they are so I can take them to court as they are driving me crazy!!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ButterflyGot a call from this number about 10 minutes ago. They asked for Mrs C******* - not here, mate! Never have been here! Oh, and this call is being recorded. They couldn't hang up fast enough!!
No idea what they were trying for, but they're not getting it from me. They don't respect the TPS, and they appear to get their information from online sources (192.com and suchlike).- Caller: No idea - they hung up really fast
- Fed up, big timeMy parents are getting these calls for 18 months, the person they ask for doesn't live at their address, when they offer the forwarding number they hang up. If you ask who they are, they hang up. Why are they wasting their money?. We registered with TPS but they still call, apparently if it's abroad they can go under the radar. I was thinking of blowing a whistle down the line if they call again.
- Hacked offThese people are so thick skinned, they just don't stop. It's about time the government stepped in. We get calls day and night asking for Mrs Chadwick who has never lived in our house. They won't answer any questions, and won't take no for an answer. The calls must be costing them a fortune. TPS are a waste of time, they have never prosecuted a nuisance caller. It was suggested, to keep a whistle by the phone and when they call give them a loud blast down the phone.
- Caller: Who knows
- TerryReceived a call from an asian sounding woman, trying to explain I was due a refund from PPI on a loan I am supposed to have had in the past ten years. I told her I had no loan in the last ten years, and to stop calling me. I asked for my details to be removed from their listings.
FThey don't respect the TPS, and they appear to get their information from online sources (192.com and suchlike) - Redcar ManI had a bloke with an American accent call and asked for Mr. *****. I asked who's calling and he spluttered and said I need to speak to Mr. ***** about PPI. I started to tell him where to get off and he cut me off pretty quickly! I, also, registered with the TPS some time ago and, although the majority of the scam calls have ceased, I do still get the odd one. I believe there is absolutely nothing you can do about these calls, if they originate out of the country (even though they're using a local number). I do agree though, that this should be dealt with at government level, as it boils down to constant harassment in your own home.
- Carrijedthis company keeps calling but clicks off when I answer phone. I registered with TPS so should not be getting these calls
- Caller: no idea
- Clive| 1 replyI have just had a call from this number, a female asked for Mr Johnson (not my name) and when I said no they rang off. I called back the number but got a message that it was not recognised. This was a PPI call as they did say it was PPI claims and as far as I'm concerned those people making these calls are parasites. This kind of marketing should be outlawed!
I had registered with TPS at least four weeks ago but I am still getting calls like this (3 to my phone today-the others I have ignored as I knew full well where they were coming from).
I shall be complaining to Ofcom-if I ever find out who is making these calls, at the very least I will be protesting outside their offices!- Call type: Telemarketer
- gingersnapped backwas getting these calls regulary for a while and they were not nice but i have done some things i would ask all the others to do as well if they want rid
1. report to ofcom informing them of the silent calls as these are now illegal the company can be heavily fined for silent calls also inform them of the verbal abuse . ofcom has the power that TPS doesnt have and the more complaints recieved the greater the chance of action
2. register for call barring or blocking from your provider or check to see if your lucky like i am and your phone has a caller barred
these 2 things have helped me have a quieter telephone life- Caller: 02392987558
- SickofitHad a call from this number asking for ^________^. Person not at this address. They said ok line went dead. Indian sounding female, no name or company given.
Just a note aswell. Received call on friday from police messenger service stating that a scam involving cold calling is operating in our area and they say they're from BT and offering lower costs, that it is a scam and they're after your banking details. Whatever you do, if you get any of these calls NEVER give any personal details.
Fed up with them!!!!!- Caller: Unknown
- flossieI HAVE HAD CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ALMOST EVERY DAY FOR TWO WEEKS THEY ARE A PAIN IN THE REAR END
- Caller: UN KNOWN
- LisaThey ring us a lot. They ask for a random person (usually with a surname that is bizarre) and then when you say no they hang up. Then bizarrely you get other calls from PPI companies etc. I think they are just checking the number exists and that a person answers. No-one has our telephone number so either BT gave it out (highly unlikely) or it is a system of trying numbers until they get an answer. Getting more and more. They will just slam the phone down when you say wrong number. I will answer as the person they ask for next time and give them a long running account of the origins of my unusual name!
- sweatersjust got a call saying he was arranging for my payment of £2500..i asked what was it for and he said for a loan i had took out in the last 10 years..i asked who was the loan with and he said dont i remember! So i said your the one arranging for the payment so you tell me! This must not have been on his script cos he said hello and hung up! Love having fun with these idiots!
- Caller: scam
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Dave RThis one called and asked for the householder. When i said they weren't here he shouted something unintelligible at me and put the phone down. Asian sounding
- twicer replies to G2212TPS is only works for calls made from within the UK
- twicer replies to Clivehi clive...this call originates from outside of the UK so its not covered by TPS...we have just got to put up with this crap until the government does something about it....i.ve been told to f**k off by someone calling from this number...i now play games with these callers so its me that gets kicks out of it...

I have an eldery mother who suffers from dementia is getting these calls I have tried to call them back but all I get is "This number is not regonised " The first call I took like everyone else you say hello the caller says hello then the phone is put down These people NEED to be STOPPED before some one says YES to them - DonnaJust had a call from this number - they're PPI people; saying that I had a loan for £5,000 in 2005 and paid it up in 2008. I don't think I did. I asked who it was with and he said "don't you remember?" - then repeated it was for £5,000 in 2005 and paid up in 2008. He went on to give me my postcode at which point I hung up.
- Caller: PPI
- StephenJust had this one and managed to keep Peter (yeah right I am sure that is his real name) on the phone for 7 minutes about claiming back PPI misselling. He had my name and address even though I never lived at this address for the loan I supposedly took out between 2005-2008 for £5500.
I never took out a loan but kept him on the line since it will cost him money. He kept asking couldnt i remember who the loan was with and he said he had it written in front of him. He thought it strange I couldnt remember the name, it could be Barclays, Halifax, Lloyds etc!!!! I just kept stringing him on that it could be loads of different companies I took it out with he would have to be clearer.
I then turned it round and said I couldnt give him the name of the company i used because I dont know who you are you could be phoning up to scam me.
after 7 minutes I got bored and asked were they covered by the FSA - the answer I got back was we are part of National Accident Helpline so I kept pushing the FSA angle and when he said check out our website www.ppiclaimline.uk.co. I pulled him up on the fact he didnt even know how to lie about a UK webaddress and I bet he is sitting in a call center in India on a VOIP phone.
At that moment my line went surprisingly dead!- Caller: PPI Claimline (supposedly)
