its actually some marketing company

had advertisment on ebay
guy called Michael Hopper was meant to be buying my car surposedly
think its a scammer uses excuse that hes a marine engineer
pay pal and the AFP have been notified

received a call from this number-tried calling it back and got a fax tone!

I have been getting calls from this number (along with two other numbers) for a week. Two of the numbers were NSW (the one mentioned) and another. The third is a mobile number with a Sudanese area code. I rang my service provider last week and they offered for me to get a new phone number, at a cost and inconvenience to me. Thanks very much Soul. Decided against that. Anyhow, thought i would be "smart" and block the number on my handset. Which worked... until i got woken up at 4am to a text message telling me i had one missed call!!!! Bah.
So anyhow, contacted Soul with an ultimatum. Fix the problem or I change my number when I change phone companies. Not too confident about their abilities.

Is there anyone out there that had this problem but has since had it stopped?

this number comes up if some one is calling u from overseas.

Got A call from the number at 3am this morning, from Damen Priestley, said he was in Singapore, I think it must just be a central number used with international phone cards or something??

nah this number appears in our phones when its from a payphone or a calling card from outside Australia. Most of the time it comes as "Private Number" but sometimes this number comes up too..

I got a call from this number several times too. tried to call back but fax tone. try to call again then a computer saying it's a wrong number

My girlfriend called me from over seas and this is the number that i got on my phone.
Now my brother tried to call me too, from over seas, and again it claimed to come from this number.

So with the power of detuction, i presume this to be some sort of a carrier-service number, transfferring the calls.

I'm from Melb. I think that number is an overseas phone card or something. Coz my mum call me from Indonesia using that number.

I have got a call just now, didnt answer anything

I am in Rockhampton, I received my first calls from this number +989353405707 last night, two at 10.17pm and one at 10.19pm, i answered all calls and the caller hung up. then received more calls from another number 0282094700 and a text message from the other number.  Received calls from these numbers 12 times total between 10.15pm and 5.10am!!!! (i set the reject these calls on my phone in the end)

It's an International call routing number - nothing to worry about.

I recieved a call from this number twice today. disconnected, but I think they might be from Iran.

Asked if I was looking for a job, I said that it was hard to understand the males voice on the phone then he hang the phone up. I tryed calling it back and got a fax machine

i got a call a little while ago, when i called back it went to a fax.

Man there are some thick people on this forum.
Read Rick's comments, he is absolutely correct:-

THESE CALLS ARE NOT MARKETING or SPAMMING. IT IS A LINE ID USED BY AN INTERNATIONAL PHONE CARD SUPPLIER. Please look at the Kay's comments above about her husband calling from the US with a pre-paid calling card. I also receive overseas calls from this number from people I also know. If you are called it will be someone overseas. If you know them, fine, otherwise its just a wrong number, thats all.

PS: Forget calling back the number, you will be wasting your time and cash.

No wonder the country's in such a mess with morons like this contributing to society!!
