I also got call from this number but when I pick up, Call of one of my friend from India. I have no idea why this number.

I am in Sydney and I called someone in Bangladesh (whom I know), he wanted to call me back immediately (as the line was bad). He called me back on my mobile and it came up with this 02 8209 4700 number, it threw me a bit as I thought he was in Sydney... which he isn't. In this instance, it was an expected call, but not the number I expected. Hope this helps anyone else.

my best friend is in new york at the moment, and although she has bought a disposablephone over there sometimes when she calls me this is the number that comes up. i have no clue why.

My mother came for a visit from overseas and the phone number: (02)8209-4700
started to call on her overseas mobile phone number with no answer when she picks-up the phone.

its the number that come up from an international call.
i have a friend in Germany and when she called this number poped up.

Got 2 call today 16/12/08, and even get the message about the missing call.
Pick up heard a male's voice than no one speak. Call back heard like the fax tone......

Just got it at 5:10pm - 16/12/2008. First time ive got it. Might call telstra.
Its possibly one of those marketing companies doing random number testing. God I miss the grey pages or DTMS.

Like everyone else, I got a missed call this evening and googled the strange number to see what company i'd forgotten to pay a bill to. I dialled it as well and got a fax tone.

The missed call was at 7:29pm. I've just got an e-mail from a friend who lives overseas who said that they tried to call me at 7:30pm but noone answered.

So, for people who are getting annoying calls at 5am, it's probably just their drunk mates who live in the UK using a phone card to call and say Hi!

I have received calls from this number and no reply

I just recently started these phone calls on the 15th December at around midnight.  I did not know this number and was hesitant to call back. After google the number and reading comments I decided to text my sister who lives in the UK and found it was her that was calling on a phone card.  I would still be careful though.

The same guys. I received a few missed calls from this number on my international mobile that i used during my last visit to Sydney.

Had three calls. Decided to do google search on the number and came across this site. How familiar is all this. Same thing happens if I try and ring back.

It's an International call card number, my friend rang me a few times from Milan (I'm in Melbourne). I didn't answer it the first few times, and couldn't call it back, but rang him on his mobile after looking at these suggestions! Not sure why it comes up as an ozzie number. The line was pretty dodgy, maybe this is why some people only get fax sounds and fuzz. Hope it helps!

A guy I met on a dating site rings me from this number, says he's in the UK. I have been trying to find where this number is from and stumbled on this site.

I've received numerous calls from this number, and Im with Optus. I phoned it back from a landline and got a fax signal

I'm in Sydney, just received a call from this no. mins ago, it's a guy in America who I blocked his no. for quite a long time, he use this no. and pretend he is in sydney now. I hung up and call it back, only fax signal.

same but 4 nights in a row! called back got fax sound, called vodafone said they wound put on a unwanted list so maybe if everyone contacts their provider somthing might change
