I am overseas on holidays and am getting calls from this number to not only my phone but my husbands phone as well...........

I get missed calls all the time from this number, and just get fax machine noise when I call back. Seems to only happen when I have been making or receiving international calls. I'm based in North West WA

Just missed a call from this number.  Slightly different though - when I called it back it said that "Optus regrets to advise that the number has been disconnected" after it rang 3 times.  Odd

i got same call from this number already 7 or 8 times and i tried to call back and it goes to fax tone .........what is this number ?????????????

People,, this has been going for a long time too .. Its some marketing people was wants to put you in some sort of scammy deal.. wants to know your address, you r credit card details and so forth..

I got 7 calls from this number on 19 Dec 2008. Not even one minute gap between calls. On 20th, my boyfriend received 2 blank calls infront me.we live in Melbourne, Australia. We called back to 0282094700, the same dial-up connection sound.

I got a call from this number this morning at 12:30am and it was a friend of mine who is travelling and was calling me from Russia. I think it must just be a number that the telephone providers display when you are receiving an international call.
I think you might find that it's someone that you know from overseas trying to call you.

I am from Austria. I received in Sydney on 19. Dec 2008. When I switched on my austrian registered mobilephone I get a call from this number too. Further there was the fax signale

i got a call from this number it was my fiancee and she is visiting rells in hongkong atm.

No need for people to keep on posting more and more of the same thing.

After reading all of the comments above and using some logic, it's plainly obvious that this number is an international gateway.

1. Everyone who comes to this site is doing so because they missed a call -- the people that get successful calls from this number obviously are not going to be searching here, are they?

2. Some people will receive international calls from friends/relatives on this number.

3. Some people will possibly get marketing calls on this number too.

There is no way of knowing exactly who called you on this number, so some common sense is required to think about who from overseas would have called you.

The fact that the calls come at very late times in Australia makes sense, given the difference in time zones.

Now, get to thinking about who may have called you from overseas and everyone stop with the ideas about scams and the like!!
