this number just rang me i dnt get y this number is ringin me at this time who is it

This is the tv licensing people. Got a call and looked at their website

ITS A SCAM, they said im behind in my tv licence payments and i no for a fact that im not.
They also addressed me by my maiden name and my licence is in my married name and always has been.

i just got a missed call off this number and it is 19:45, i doubt any respecable company would call at this time, i refuse to even answer my phone to unknown numbers so they will have a very hard time getting intouch with me!

I had a call this morning 08:20, did not answer, went to answer phone, no message left, and to say thank you all, it does seem this may be a scam

IGNORE THIS NUMBER (0300 555 0285), I HAVE JUST CALLED TV LICENCING USING THE NUMBER OFF THEIR WEBSITE.  I WAS POSITIVE THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH MY LICENCE AND THEY CONFIRMED THIS TO ME. THEY DID NOT RECOGNISE THIS NUMBER AND TOLD ME TO IGNORE IT.

HOPE THIS HELPS AND STOPS PEOPLE FROM GETTING SCAMMED.

Well I've been receiving calls from this number since 2 days ago. On my mobile and my landline. I pay my tv licence yearly, always have. Seems strange that they would start calling both my numbers around the same time. I havn't recently, or in fact ever, given both my numbers out to anyone, so I very much doubt it is a legit company. Seems to me like this is a scam, or one of those companies hired by various other companies to do their ring rounds. Although as everyones comments seem to be related to them calling about tv licencing, maybe it is a scam. Either way I would advise you don't give, or confirm any of your personal details to whom ever is on the other end of the phone. Someone only needs 3 pieces of information from you to commit fraud.

its not the tv licence people its a firm that try and trace people who owe the halifax money ,trust me i know.thats why they ask for your name and address......ignore it, thats my advice

dont know who it was but i dont like people calling and not saying who it is

Have had several calls from these people and notice it is TV Licencing, why they are calling I do not know as we are over 75 and do not now pay for a TV Licence

They are from tv licensing. They call to chase if you have fallen behind with payments... I pay weekly at a paypoint and if i ever forget they send a text msg reminder... if you dont act upon the text they call u up..... Answer them they are fine provided you get up to date with your license x

It doesn't matter if it is TV License they are not allowed to harass you like this ,keep a diary of times and number that called and anything they say then report them to Ofcom who can fine them up to £50000. Also tell them you do not give you're details over the phone and that all further correspondence should be by letter only if they are genuine they will do this and wont need any details off you. the link for Ofcom is https://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/webflow/silent-calls/

Not the tv licensing spoke to the tv licensing people last week they said they wont ring anybody after 6pm I had this number ring me yesterday at 10:30pm

I have just had a call from this number and when i answered i had a man shouting at me saying Miss Dawn (which is not me) pay £7 today. and when i tried to tell him it wasnt me he carried on shouting, in the end i had to shout back to say he had the wrong number to which he replied "you have just said this is you" obv i didnt say that and i told him that to get the reply " oh f***ing hell" and then he put the phone down.
