I'm assuming it's a scam - I'm not old enough to own a TV license so... I obviously don't have one for them to ring me up on. I just added them to me reject list.

0300 555 0284/5/6 IS TV Licensing - someone with a TV Licensing Payment Card has given them your number by mistake, or it's been typed in to their system wrongly. The only way to stop these annoying calls/texts/reminders is to call them on that number and tell them to STOP doing it.

I've had this 03005550285 number call me loads of times and text me to say my direct debit payment is behind.  Called the actual number from their website and there is nothing wrong with my tv licence.  They have said that the number is not one of theirs!

I had a call from this outfit at the outrageous time of 08:15 this morning. I am on overnight medication so it woke me up and the phone only rang two or three times not enough to get to it.

My answerphone does not give out my name so they were absolutely out of order leaving a message for a named person at all without confirmation it was the right number. Whoever it was, gabbled the number and name and I could not understand who she said it was, but it certainly DID NOT say TV licensing. I only got to this website via doing 1471 and looking it up.

There is no way I am calling them back on that number. Even if it was TV licensing,  I don't owe them anything at the moment, I just gave them some money online a few days ago. You can't get blood from a stone. I only have my state pension as income and it has to be eked out to cover food, gas, electricity and council tax because I only get a partial discount on that.

Government numbers should be free in all cases. Just recently Virgin who I have my landline with, extended their service so 0845 numbers are now included in my monthly free call allowance. Before that happened, back pre-pension when I was on ESA, I spent massive amounts hanging on the line for the DWP to grudgingly talk to me. Whatever else, NO-ONE should be asked to call an official number on a premium rate line. It stinks.

about 20 to 9 last night this number rang me I answered expecting it to be one of this sales things where you can hear them all talking in background but there was no repsonse I said hello a few times and nobody answered I asked who was speaking no answer I asked why they was ringing no answer, I eventually put the phone down and then they called again at quater past 3 this morning same procedure again; funniest thing about it is I'm 13 and defiantly don't owe tv licence

19:55 I too just had a call from these people, they asked if I was Mr ? .Martin. The lady had a broad Indian accent, I said no this isn't Mr Martin and forcibly enquired as to who they were, eventually she claimed she was from TV licensing, TV Licensing I said, and promptly asked how they obtained my number, no response other than asking if I was Mr Martin. I know for a fact that my TV License in up to date because it's one of my direct debits. I'm certain it's a scam of some sort. Whatever you do , do not give out any personal information and challenge them or simply hang up on them!

I also got this number calling, i am slightly behind a payment.. but shall not be answering, they should technically be sending me a letter, not contacting me via my mobile

Theyve rang me 3 times this week past 8pm at night leaving voicemails, i dont think a company should be ringing past 8 at night and also im not behind with payments i know that for a fact. If they wanna contafy me they shoukd write to me not call me at anti social hours

Called me at 8.10am on my only day off of the week!! Not happy! I'm not behind with any payments so I have'nt a clue what they want!

Had a call om my day off at 8.08 this morning! Not happy! On answering the call with a groggy hello I heard a ringtone??? Then someone pick up a lot of ppl talking then they hung up???
I'm fairly sure tv licencing don't run their business in this manner!

I can't believe some of these comments.
1. It is TV Licensing
2. 0300 numbers ARE free phone (not from mobiles - no such thing as free phone on mobile) I sell these numbers so I know a bit about them.
3. If you are behind on payments they have every legal right to phone you, they don't have to put it in writing.

I've got debts due to redundancy etc. and I'm not perfect but I expect the calls if my bills are not paid.

This is not a scam - I have called them.
