further on what I said above, they've now called SEVENTEEN times & yesterday they called me at my office number!  Persistent buggers...

Got a call from this number, they hung up on me once I answered. The other day had someone call my parents landline number (I haven't lived there for 2 years) asked for me by name but when told I no longer lived there they hung up without saying who they were or asking for new number. Very strange.

I just had a call from this number and as I did not recognize it I did not answer. They did not leave a message. Then I decided (heavens knows why!) to Google the number and hey presto I found this page at the top of the results. Obviously some kind of scam judging by all the above reports from other people!

I have been plagued by this number (never leaves a message) for weeks now and refuse to return the call.  how do i stop it??

Third time I have received a call from this number.
Silence at other end.
I have accounts with ANZ but no reason for them to call.

I had a missed phone call from them yesterday. Am an ANZ customer, but if they can't be bothered leaving a message, I don't want to talk to them. Won't bother answering it if they ring again, given the information on this site.

I received a call from this number- missed call. Wasn't sure who it was so googled it came to this website.

I live in far north qld and this number has rung me every day for about 6 weeks. As i don't answer numbers i don't know, i just ignore but have once or twice tried to ring them back - from another phone - and i get silence or mumbling. I just wish it would go away, but i will keep on ignoring. nice to have this site for reassurance. thanks and regs carla

I answered a call from this number a couple of weeks ago and the line was bad and I was in a hurry to go somewhere.  I asked what it was about and they mentioned ANZ insurance. It was a follow up call to a junk mail from ANZ about life insurance. They asked if I was busy and offered to call back which I agreed to and hung up. Since then they've called over ten times and never left a message. I don't answer and usually reject the call just to make sure they get the message which they don't!

This number has been calling me everyday. I never answer numbers I dont know and if they dont leave a voicemail I get suspicious. so I called it back and also heard the message about it being an ANZ number. I called ANZ to report it and add me to their DNC list. They have no recollection of this number in this system at all and advised me against providing any details. I will continue to ignore this number now.

Ok one thing you guys need to learn.
I am a telemarketer. They dont call you to try harrass you. It is their job.
They dial 7-1354 times because it is an automatic dialer and if you dont want the call
just answer and ask not to be called back.
They have certain guidelines for their calls so they might not be able to talk to other people.
AND
It isn't just silent because of them or them not talking and hanging up, THE COMPUTER
automatically dials and if the telemarketter doesnt pick up quick enough then you recieve the call but
have no one to talk to.

Scam Call: Called 14 Dec - caller ID shown 03 8646 8775 - said they needed to speak to me about"my" bank.
Said just wait a moment - put it on mute - put it down and walked away - 10  min later they were gone.
Australian Accent - Native speaker.

Looks like this number is doing the rounds again. Been called 3 times now, too busy at work to take the call. I have added it to my 'Do Not Answer' call list, along Coles Liquor and a pushy dentist :-)

Got call from this No, they would not confirm where they were from.
Use Google and found this page and searched ANZ for outbound call center and found:

Rang just now 5 April 2011 @ 4:05pm... same story, I answered, they hung up.  Noise!!

Add me to the list of those called. Sounded legit enough the first time, got the hang up the 2nd. They aren't going to get details out of me though.

Got three calls yesterday, three today. I was in class at Uni and couldn't answer the calls. Why don't they leave messages? If it is really ANZ automatic dialing, it's a terrible system and enough to make me want to change banks. I will ring ANZ up and tell them if I get one more call from that number, I will bank with another bank! Suggest everyone else do the same.

25.5.11 - missed call from the number - looked it up because I don't know anyone with a home number 86xx xxxx. found this site, I'm thinking same thing. A little while back I had a call from ANZ asking for my security details and I didn't want to call back as the number they gave wasn't registered on the ANZ website anywhere when I searched.
